I had this jacket years ago and really wanted to love it. The material was great but the slim fit was just too snug (sizing up didn't help). This version feels fitted, but not too baggy. The torso is a boxier cut which is a bit looser than I'd like. Regardless, I can wear this to work and it looks professional and casual. I don't think the fit is quite there so minus one star, but it is quite close. I'm keeping this one even though it's not 5/5

You get what you pay for and this sweater lives up to its billing. Comfortable warm and stylish.

I have purchased 3 covert cardigans in the past 10 years- this newest cardigan is not as soft as previous versions but what I really miss are the mesh interior pockets. My passport and boarding passes fit perfectly in them for travel. I have had my latest covert cardigan for 1 year and the zipper broke this morning. So the recent version is not nearly as well made as my covert cardigans from 10 years and 8 years ago.
I still wear those 2 cardigans regularly.
All 3 cardigans wash very well and our very warm.

I have several of these jackets that I have acquired over the years. They are a quality product, and feel nice to the touch, but the fit is nothing special.
I preferred the cut of these 2 iterations ago where the lines were less straight and more fitted and tapered. (Not the baggy gang-banger look).
This new slightly shorter straight cut is not flattering to women who have curves and are not straight up and down with no waist and who have narrow shoulders. It also is not as functional as the older ,trimmer fitting tapered cut. It puzzles me as to why arm the holes are so small when they have loosened the fit.
Even as a 5'2"slim, very small but muscular 104 lb woman, they are too small and do not match the looser cut of these cardigans. I much prefer my older ones that were tighter in the bust and waist but were ample enough in the arm cutouts for a real person to find comfortable and to wear to work in a medical facility where it is constantly cold.
I have taken these jackets camping and traveling and they have always been winners, but this cut limits the functionality for some.
Of course these pieces are warm, but they require maintenance to remove the pilling that occurs with time.
I think Arc'teryx needs to offer these jackets in a trim fit and a relaxed fit to better fit multiple body types... Just like they did with the Sentinel and other pieces in the last few years. Then, the customer would be able to dial the fit in better. I can wear either a small or an extra small normally in these., but even the medium has tiny arm holes, and they are all very tight in the shoulders for their size. Most athletic or sports oriented women do not have tiny shoulders and arms. Even my tiny grandmother would find the arm holes to be small.

I bought this jacket but still haven't removed the tags as I'm concerned over the sizing. I just received the wool long sleeve top that I planned on wearing under this. The problem, like many others mentioned is the tight sleeves. The arms stick to the wool sleeves of what would be my base layer. I have to pull and tug to get everything in the right place, it still feels like the arms and shoulders are tight and the body is boxy. I plan on returning.

The quality appears to be excellent --- and if it's anything like the men's, I know it is because my partner has had one of these for about 6 years, uses it all the time, and it's still in like-new condition. I've wanted one like his for ages, but the fit is so off. I'm 5'9", 155lbs, quite fit. I ordered the medium. The shoulder width is fine, the arm length is just about long enough, but the torso is not only too short, but way too wide. It looks like I'm wearing a cardboard box. The large will be way too wide, given that the medium is already wide. I'm so sad that I'll have to return it.

I've owned this cardigan about a month and have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, it is incredibly warm and the long sleeves are a definite plus. It's perfect for everyday wear and also great for hiking in cooler weather. Additionally, it's convenient to wear under a shell.
However, there are a few downsides. The cardigan is quite wide and short, which makes it less flattering. Moreover, the narrow sleeves make it difficult to layer anything underneath.
Overall, while it has its benefits, there are some design aspects that could be improved.

I should have read the reviews. I have this awesome sweater from about 5+ years ago, in graphite, size L. I thought getting another color would be a great idea since I love my first one so much. It was slightly large to fit over my uniform, but still shapely enough to be attractive. It was perfect.
Sadly, the fit has been revised. When I received my regear Covert, I was really disappointed. It's also non-returnable. So, don't do what I did. If you're reading this, believe the reviews. The fit is boxy/baggy now, and the arms are narrow. While I'm not as athletic as I used to be, and I like a larger fit, this is NOT flattering. There's zero shape. Take my naturally larger hausfrau arms into consideration, and the arms are just too snug to be comfortable. It's not good. Don't buy this one until it gets another retro-fit, or unless you're apple-shaped with spindly arms. I'll wear it, because it's still great quality,...but I am sad.

I purchased this cardigan in 2021, and absolutely loved everything about it. Have been considering buying another ever since, and when the Alpine Rose color was released I jumped at the chance! The color is beautiful, it is extremely warm and quality material, however the fit is really odd as if each component is a mixture of sizes! The large fit well across the shoulders, arms and collar, but the rest of the cardigan was shaped like a pear! It isn't just a straight fit, it actually bells out from the armpits down to the pockets where it seems to tailor in again down to the hem. It was so bizarre! I then tried the medium thinking I had the sizing wrong, but it was tight across the shoulders, zero space in the arms, the collar was rather tight, and the 'waist' was still WAY TOO WIDE across my body. I have a rather normal athletic shape but it's difficult to imagine what shape or activity this was built for. I want to love it, but until the fitting is corrected I'll wait.

I made a mistake this jacket is boxy not fitted and said small petite so I assumed small xtra small but when I looked at the order choices it says: s, xs, xxs. I wore it and just ordered the other fleece more form fitting in correct xs size.

I love the fit of the covert in the torso. The boxy cut and the length sit really well around my hips. I am disappointed in how the sleeves fit. The sleeves are WAY TOO TIGHT. I can barely get my arms through. Keep in mind, I'm very slender. If the sleeves a bit wider or it didn't taper in at the wrists that'll be perfect!

Warm, but the fleece lining makes it difficult to get on and off even over a cotton turtleneck, and the bulk means it does not lie that well. I also dislike the silly hard nylon sections by the pockets and can't imagine what I'd use the tiny sleeve pocket for. Overall disappointed. The large fits OK- I an 5'7" with 40 inch bust and hips.

Great material and features, but the cut did not work for me at all. I have slim arms, yet the arms of this cardigan were uncomfortably tight. In contrast, there was lots of loose fabric around my middle. The overall effect was just weird.

I own 4 women's Covert Cardigans that I've had for a number of years and wear almost every day. They're starting to show some wear so ordered a couple new colors. The fit has changed completely and I was disappointed how boxy the new cut is so sent them back.

Love my 2 year old Covert, but the zipper has always been an issue - and now the bottom part of the zipper simply just fell off. I have many items with zippers but only from Arcteryx they seems to be of a not so strong quality. Hope it can be fixed in some way?

Fabric and style are awesome. Fit was good through the body and shoulders, sleeves were too tight. Regrettably returned.

I love my previous years version but this newest version is significantly shorter. It would probably work well for someone with a short torso but is no longer as comfortable or flattering for me as the previous version.

I loved the last covert sweater I had but this one is disappointing. After wearing a few times there are loads of pilling under both arms. It makes the sweater look old and worn. I really like the sweater but the pilling is less than desirable.

I have owned this jacket for about 10 months and used it through the winter and spring hiking season. It has held up well, however there has been a lot of pilling on the jacket and it needs to be "shaved" after every 3-4 wash cycles. If you don't care about how worn the jacket looks and just need something functional this is a great option.

The fit is terrible. I'm 5'5" and 130 lbs(size 6).I ordered the medium. The armpit and sleeves are too tight and the body is too big and wide. I can't even fit the Rho zip lightweight base layer underneath comfortably. My other items are a size medium (in a base layer and vest) and are a bit roomy on me. What is going on with the designers??

Lovely sweater that I was looking forward to wear but the sleeves are way too tight! I'm looking for COMFORT in a fleece jacket, and this was extremely uncomfortable to wear. The sweater is truly so beautiful and I love the colors, but unfortunately, I had to return.

The Arc'teryx Covert 'lightweight'' jacket is not a well designed jacket . Your arms do not slide into this jacket easily if you are wearing a long sleeve cotton t shirt. This jacket is 100% synthetic making it really hot and not at all cool even if it is lightweight. If you are going to wear a synthetic t shirt underneath this jacket you will overheat and be very uncomfortable because your body will not be able to breath from all the synthetic fibers of the t shirt and jacket. The 100% polyester fabric is not smooth it is rough on the skin, if you have sensitive skin this jacket is not for you. I thought polyester would be smooth and gentle on my skin it is not. Since this jacket is so hot to wear, it needs under arm vents/zippers to keep the wearer's body cool. Also, I am small in size but have long arms yet the arms on this jacket are much longer than needed for a size medium. I measured my bust as 35 inches. According to your size chart a 35 is a medium, I bought 2 of these jackets in different colors both size medium, they are too large. I am a caregiver to my 93 year old father, I am too busy and tired to start a return request authorization on both therefore, I am stuck with two scratchy, too hot and too large, covert jackets.

This is my third covert (cardigan + 1/4 zip) purchased recently. Love the new style; a little more roomier that allows for better movement and supports different base layers. Quality and warmth are 5/5. Always order M, inspire of being 5'4" and an athletic shape. Excellent coverage. Use mainly hiking and around town.
