Have been using for a couple of weeks now. I have a wide foot and it fits fairly comfortably. I do find my feet get sore after wearing for awhile. Great grip on slippery surfaces.

These are close to the best shoes I have ever used for hiking. They are soft underfoot, have great grip, and my feet don't hurt at the end of a long day on trail. My only gripe is that they are a little stiff. I have used, Altra Loan Peaks, Hoka Speedgoats, Adidas Free Hikers, and Merrel Moabs. These Norvans are a close second to the Speedgoats in my opinion.

These shoes are okay for hiking . If you are looking for a trail running shoe , I would not recommend the GTX version. The main problem is , the feet can become over heated with the goretex because the inner moisture and heat generated by your feet has nowhere to go. Also, if you are unfortunate enough to live in a rainy country that has a lot of streams and puddles on the trails (like me) you could experience inner flooding of the shoe which results in them becoming like bricks. Not fun half way through a long run if you run into a puddle big enough by mistake. However, the goretex membrane is decent if you are walking in normal enough conditions ie rainy streets, populated trail routes that are built up..they prevent a large portion of moisture from entering . I tested these on a very rainy walk and they are good for just that, walking. I would probably buy the Norvan without the GTX if you want to have an enjoyable trail run/race because let's face it, your feet are more than likely to get wet with the movement involved with running and the unpredictable terrain on trail runs at that speed. I am going to stick to using these for hikes only to prevent water intake because if that happens during a trail run or a race..you're going to have a poor time with these shoes. But for walking or hiking in the rain..they're fine. They are a nice fit and look pretty good.

I just purchased the Smoke/Bluff Relic colour way and came here to say that the colour is off! It is way more grey/olive toned than in the picture - no hint of the pink/cream tones! Not sure if that's a misrepresentation in photos, or poor colour QAQC but either way I'm considering sending it back. Otherwise the shoes are nice - sturdy, feel grippy, fit well fairly TTS.

...cool/inclement weather "hiking" shoe, perhaps, trail "runner," not so much, IMO... Compared to my well-worn Norvan "SL" GTX (super-lights,) which suited well to 4-season runs, city trekking, travel and for casual use, I found the subsequent LD's to sport more bulk, fit wide(r) and to wear warm. My other fair-weather SL/SL2's have evolved, and so why not a renewed Norvan "SL3" GTX?

Though I stopped running years ago, I use waterproof trail shoes for my trail walks. I bought this shoe wanting to try something a little different. I wish I hadn't. It's much stiffer than a trail running shoe and I didn't realize until I did a 2 hour walk that there is little or no arch support. I'm trying out an insert, but if you have high arches, think twice. Other than that, the shoe seems very well made and I love the colour! (Why are almost all trail-runners black?)

Bought these last winter and have used them for almost a year. Unfortunately Arc hasn't noticed the trend toward wider toebox footwear recently, and has kept this one with a pretty narrow fit across the ball of my for foot. After wearing them for a bit my feel feel such relief after I take them out. I kind of regret keeping them, and really wish Arcteryx would widen their shoe last a bit, at least in the front. They are quite waterproof, have held up well, and do look nice. While the cushioning is good and pretty bouncy, the interiors are not that soft or plush. Could in part be due to the W/B liner, but like Salomon ( who is owned by the same company as Arcteryx), the materials are kind of rough, and the transitions between them and the inside seams are not that smooth. The vibrant sole is pretty good. It was a little slick at first, but after a little wearing in has begun to grip better. All in all I wouldn't really recommend these unless you have narrow feet. Hope Arc can do better and widen the front for v4.

This is my second pair of Norvan LD GTX shoes. My first pair was great and were worn almost every day for the best part of a year. Soles eventually wore out. I got this second pair, 'upgraded' from last season for Christmas 2022. The shoe itself is great with the same grippy sole and water resistant features as my previous pair. However, one significant change is with the insole. Arcteryx have changed this from the Ortholite insoles that were in my old pair to a much thinner and what looks like a cheaper insole in the latest version. The Ortholite insoles were stable inside the shoe and stayed in place on walks and runs. The insole in the newer version of the shoe creeps backwards gradually when in use leaving a gap at the front of the toe box and the insole making its way up the back of my heel causing discomfort. On longer walks and runs I end up taking the shoes off two or three times to push the insole back in place. I have ended up using double sided tape to keep them in place but this causes an issue if they get wet as I take the insole out to dry them more rapidly meaning I have to replace the tape.

I bought these shoes as a winter trail trainer, primarily for the Gore Tex and Vibram-made tread. Those features have been as good as expected. I like the forefoot shape, allowing some toe splay without being too loose in technical terrain. The midfoot lockdown is great, as are the lacing options. I appreciate that the sock liner/insole is not an integral part of the cushioning, as it allows the use of custom insoles without losing significant cushion. However, there are a few issues to consider. I anticipated more durability from the cushion from the midsole as I have run in similar stack height shoes for several years and versions (Saucony Peregrine, New Balance Hierro). It feels like the midsole has packed down early in the forefoot and I am approaching only 200km on the shoes. For reference, I am 6' and 170lbs, mid to forefoot striker. I also would like to see more tread depth on a Gore Tex version of a trail shoe, 5mm at least. If you are going to produce a Gore Tex lined shoe, I'd anticipate using them being used in sloppy and muddy conditions where the extra tread depth would be helpful. On bare rock, roots and other exposed surfaces the Vibram compound grips really well. Overall I would recommend the shoe for distances under 50km, but the midsole packing down is a concern.

It baffles me that many shoe manufacturers completely ignore those of us with wider feet. I have a couple pair of Aerios shoes from years ago that I've been able to wear for years now. I tried a new pair of Aerious and it was painfully too tight. I read reviews about these Norvans fitting wide feet better and ordered them next. I slid in my foot with a thin liner sock and it was extremely tight. This leads me to suspect that your manufacturing specs must have changed a bit, and not for the better. While some of the color schemes are bizarre I've appreciated that one could find something normal or good looking. But the foot needs to swell and toes need to splay during activity, and these will make dam* sure that never happens with a larger or wider foot.

I bought these 4 months ago for a west and east africa overland trip expecting them to be my daily driver shoe as they could handle all the different terrain, the water and long days. And they could, they were super comfy and had grip on slabby rock, rain forest floors, muddy muddy roads and everything in between. I could do every task I needed to in them including run and approach climbs, a great all around shoe. Comfy to wear all day everyday. Unfortunately within the first month the rubber started to detach from the shoe, and now by four months in, including repairs the rubber is still coming off, the side wall is ripped and the soul is coming off the back and torn on the front. The shoes are falling apart way sooner than id expect for a brand and product of this price and quality. The only things that remain the same from the start are its functions, comfiness and waterproofness.

New Arc'teryx flip flops! These sneakers are very comfortable to wear. But unfortunately, the material doesn't appear to be a high quality. This happened on a run when they snagged on a root. They got completely destroyed and I had to throw them away.
