I was hesitant to buy these since i only run on road, no trails, and i habe been so satisfied on how good these feel for my morning runs. They are light, fit perfectly well and give excellent support. I run 100 km a week, and the sole looks perfectly fine after 6 weeks of heavy load. Very recommended!

I bought this shoe for walking and hiking purposes for a trip to Vancouver Island. I had never worn them prior. My experience was excellent. No breaking in period was necessary. Comfort is amazing

Wore my Norvan's on a ravine trail and loved them, no discomfort, wide shoe without straying too far from being TTS, cleans pretty easy after being in dust, overall a great purchase.

I first bought the LD3 non-gore-text. It was comfortable, but during winter if any snow got on them it melted and soaked my feet. This version solved this. I can't say enough for the roll and feel of this shoe. It works for on road or rugged terrain. It has fantastic flex but guards against rocks and barely has any side to side roll. Pretty much the best shoe I've ever experienced. Nike and On running wish they were this cool. This is a REAL shoe. Give it a try. The only thing that will disappoint you is having to double tie the laces because they are oddly can come undone, but the laces are super light and durable. Some work needs to be done there to make them grippier? @ arcteryx.

I just bought these shoes online, already took them for a couple of hikes, no need to break them in, super confortable from the beginning, and great grip as well. They're keeping my feet dry under rainy conditions.

I have less than 50k on these shoes and they're all in snow. Although the intended purpose may not have been to make a perfect snow trail running shoe, Arc'teryx has created something magical here. Great response and grip in mash potato conditions, while the feet stay warm and dry. I cannot wait to try these out on the dirt! I ordered a size that matched my foot length measurement and they are a perfect fit. So far, no toe bang and a snug fit everywhere else. I definitely recommend these shoes for your winter runs on path or trail! Also love the lace pocket on the tongues

I've purchased 3 pairs of these and went through 1500+ miles on the 1st pair before replacing with a new pair. I wear these shoes in all seasons and have used them for winter/snow hiking, trail running in fall/spring, and at resorts in warmer weather. I love how these shoes are waterproof, over a surprisingly amount of support, and are comfortable. Be warned though, after a lot of wear and tear or heavy trail use, they may lose some of their waterproofness. But remember, these are not heavy duty GTX boots afterall.

Bought these about 3 weeks ago as a trail shoe for winter, with the GTX lining offering a bit of protection against wet feet. I've used them on a couple of easy hill days on a mix of well formed path and some fairly boggy sections. They've proved to be extremely comfortable out of the box, with a roomy toe box and supportive heel, which works well for my foot shape. I'm fairly heavily built, and they were comfortable over rocky, uneven ground, even when carrying a decent weight of pack complete with photography gear, but without losing the nimble feel that I prefer. Would I recommend them - yes, so much so I went straight out and bought another pair for when I wear these ones out!

I've put hundreds of miles on road, trail, and mountain terrain with little signs of wear. The shoe offers plenty of support for rocky terrain with reasonably sticky rubber for a non approach shoe. The GTX works amazingly well having gone through numerous heavy rainstorms with dry feet.

I bought these 3+ months ago and wanted to wait until I hiked the Grand Canyon Rim 2 Rim before reviewing. Just completed the hike earlier this week and I couldn't be happier with the performance of these shoes. With more than 130 miles on these during training hikes, and then the actual hike, these maintained excellent grip, comfort and water resistance. Even with the extreme canyon temps, one change of wool socks during the trek kept my feet in great shape and no hot spots or blisters. Feet stayed dry after multiple BA creek crossings to/from ribbon falls and the creek leading up to to Indian Gardens. I would definitely buy another pair when these wear out, but they still have plenty of life. Having owned 7+ pairs of Arc'teryx shoes, these are the best in their entire line-up in terms of comfort and durability. The only thing I would do different for my next R2R is pick up a pair of gaiters to help with the sand and loose gravel present on the trails.

All seams hold - no splitting - even under immense use in all weather (frigid, snow, rain, severe heat). 35-45+ miles a week. Dirt/mud/snow/ice/rain/concrete/stair-workouts/hills/etc. My past shoes would begin to tear-away after 3 months.

I use these primarily for winter and mud season trail running. I have yet to find a condition where these shoes do not preform well. On road, off road, muck, gravel, rock, they have been great. 20+ miles a week through the snow and spring melt and they would look new if I cleaned them. I have a hard time find a shoe that will keep my heels locked down due to a high arch and wide front foot. They fit so well, I have a pair of non-GTX for warmer dryer conditions. They are easy to over tighten. Once they are laced, that's how the fit is going to stay.

These shoes are great for running and interval training! The extra cushioning on the bottom compared to the older versions adds much needed support when running on the treadmill and outside on the concrete as well! Perfect for running, cardio, and everyday use!

The Norvan LD 3 GTX Shoe fits tightly and comfortably around your feet. The shoe is flexible when you are out running or hiking. It is light which makes it smooth and it does not hinder you when you need to jump over an obstacle. Stable yet flexible. The tight fit of the shoe gives you the feeling that the shoe can handle the adventure you put it through. The shoe provides good protection for your toes when you are out running or hiking. It feels like it has good cushioning in the sole and gives the arch a good support. This is my third pair and I will probably buy new ones when these wear out. My first pair lasted a year and then I use it every day in my job. Can recommend the Norvan LD 3 GTX Shoe.

I go through a pair of the Norvan GTX shoes per season. Normally by the end of the season, the body of the shoe is still in reasonable shape while the tread is completely worn off. My latest pair had slightly more tread remaining at the end of the season with the same amount of abuse from trail running. If I can get a little more out of the tread, maybe I can use them for 2 seasons in the future? Love the way the shoe fits my foot, and especially like that they are light for longer days in the field.

Bought these shoes online a few weeks back and have gotten a few runs in so far - understand Norvan (North Van) gear is dialed to that particular climate, not necessarily the dryer interior where I live...but thought the gortex version of the shoes would be applicable to fall/winter running in the Okanagan with mixed rain, dry/wet snow and a broad range of temps. They've worked great so far (into November) and I certainly think they'll be great over the next 4 months or so. Having said that, they are not (to me at least) as soft a ride as they're made out to be (compared to Altra and Topos at least) and feel they'd be better suited for shorter ultras, not the longer stuff. The cuff and rubber on the toes is also quite hard, although haven't been as noticeable while running as I first thought when I put them on. Toe box isn't really that wide (I have average/narrow feet, and they fit me well), less then Topo and way less then Altra. Seem like they'll be really durable. Overall they're pretty good, but suited for the shorter of the long stuff in inclement weather. (The the lace pocket is kinda gimmicky but I've used it a couple times and sort of like it...)

I needed another light and high quality shoes for my training in the raining days in the northeastern area of the United States, and Norvan LD GTX was one that caught my eyes. They meet the needs, as listed above. In addition, they are pleasant to look and comfortable to wear. What i did not expect was the drop of the shoes is a bit more "stiff" than what i would described as comfortable. As a result, i found myself reach to my usual running shoes of Sancony and Brooks more often, and have not logged the mileage as i would have expected. In addition, i also found the the laces loose up quickly which is quite annoying for an expensive brand like Arcteryx. Oh well

Extremely lightweight but durable enough. Never got my feet wet and vibram sole secured grip on trails and wet stones on beach. Sizing is a bit strange, I got 0,5 size down from regular but easily can fit thick socks. They are wide in toes.

I normally wear a size 12. I bought these in a size 12 and they are, at least, half a size too big for me. It was my own fault. I purchased them at the Arc'teryx store on Saint Catherine's after a long walk around Montreal on a hot day. I wish the sales clerk in that store have been aware of how big they fit. When I later complained about how big the shoes are to a SA at Arc'teryx on 17th Ave. in Calgary, he mentioned that, in his opinion, that Arc'teryx shoes equipped with Gore-Tex normally fit about half a size too large. He's a knowledgable sales associates & I have left positive comments about him, previously, on this site. Other than the shoes, being too large for me, they have performed fairly well. I have flat wide feet, and I believe that the shoes provided me with adequate support. My only other complaint is Arc'teryx laces, which stretch and stretch and stretch. I shouldn't have to double knot my laces, if I'm just going down to the grocery store, to pick up the slack.
