More dialed fit is nice and the footshape keeps toes from getting too cramped. Tread is actually pretty decent, better than the Timp 4. Really wanted to love them but after 55 miles of light road and trail use the entirety of the midsole on both shoes has split away from the upper at the heal. Once again, Altra has made amazingly comfortable terribly durable shoes. Going to invest in the other footshape brand now. This is absurd.

the Outroad, like the Riviera is geared toward a narrower foot. A myriad of fit issues exist for us narrow footed runners, resulting in compromises in fit and safety w/ other brands. The Outroad rules!

I am a veterinarian and on my feet all day. I was suffering from lower back and knee pain that was affecting how I worked out and my daily exercise. I started wearing these shoes to work every day. And all that pain is gone!

After reading other reviews I took the advice and ordered a half size larger than I normally would. I'm glad I did! The shoes feel great! I have other Altra shoes and these are a close second behind my Olympus 4.

Ordered my normal 9.5 and had to go up a half size. Put 20 miles on them and ran a 100. No foot issues whatsoever. Awesome shoe for light trail runs.they are a more narrow fit than traditional Altra

A couple years back I shifted to wide toe boxes, but the lack of squish in the sole of the shoes left my feet exhausted if I spent too much time on non natural surfaces. These do not. SO COMFORTABLE!

This is the second pair of Outroads in the exact same color scheme. I think the comfort is great, and the wide toe box is comfortable for hiking. I wish that they would stick with the color scheme on the new Outroads. I haven't tried on the new Outroad style yet, however I hope the design stays the same. No need to reinvent the wheel when the design and fit are spot on.

Amazing shoe all around, not too cushiony and a zero drop. Great shoe ,but found cheaper elsewhere.

I measure narrow, narrow, heel, narrow ball, high in step and high arch. 9.2 and 8.9 on opposing feet, settled in 9. First time in Altra's, my daughtermsuggwsted them as she trains in them. Super happy. About 25 miles in over the past week or so.

This is a great shoe, but you have to know that it's not going to be that roomy Altra feel as it's a slimmer design. Although I have a slimmer foot, my normal size 10 was crunching my toes. I returned my first pair and ordered a half size up...Bam!!! Now this was the Altra comfort I know and love. Most of my runs are trails w/ short intervals on road so I'm loving the hybrid approach. I've run 150mi thus far in my Outroads and there have been zero durability issues. Right out of the box I ran a 2mi to get a feel then ran a 20mi trail race on tough terrain... they felt great! zero blisters or rubbing. For me the Outroad works great! If you have a wider foot I would not recommend.

I wear a size bigger in the slim foot shape models of Altra. I feel confident transitioning from asphalt to dirt.

First day of wearing it, there was a little bit of adjustment to the zero drop. Once I was used to it, the shoe felt more and more comfortable. The room in the toe box is just right; I've always considered my feet to be "regular width" but after trying this, I question if I really am between regular and wide. Cushion is just right without feeling you're detached from the ground. Colorway is attractive and I've received compliments for it.

These are not the shoes I expected from Altra. Much more narrow than the roomy pair I bought previously from Altra. Choose another model if your looking for roomy shoes.

I've really enjoyed this shoe. My runs are typically across a mix of surfaces and the Outroad has handled it all pretty well. Sizing is different from standard due to the slim fit. I sized up 1 full size and they fit well. I haven't experienced the durability issues, it seems like there's a fair amount of lemons in this model but my pair has been good to go.

Altra has been my only exercise shoe for years. I buy a few pairs a year. This new shoe is much thinner, almost like a "normal" running shoe. I miss the wide-toe box and will return to what I usually purchase.

I ordered my normal size 12. All of my previous Altra purchases were true to size. The Off-road was a little too small. I was able to exchange (a whole, kinda annoying process but the customer service is amazing!) Very comfortable! Did 15 miles the day after receiving them. Absolutely no knee pain!

Enjoyed having a pair that I could actually run on the road to get to the trail too. Plus most trails don't really need a true trail shoe, so I thought a more durable road shoe would last well. These are not those. I have roadies that run near 1000 miles, while the side mesh here blew out and tore around 250 miles. Maybe I expect too much, but 250 miles for me is only a month or two and I really expect more for the money companies are asking. Thank said I would probably get them again, in hoping for future improvements. As these were the first venture in this direction. I would much rather have a pair that fits 90% of my runs than multiple to have to dictate to the surface.

I decided to give the Outroads a go when they were initially released and have been quite happy. I mostly use them for walking & hiking, with the occasional run. I have beat them up quite a bit.

I like the shoes but they do not fit the same as other Altra’s. I have 5 pairs of Altra’s and these are noticeably smaller than the others. Unfortunately, these happen to be final sale shoes and I’m unable to exchange them.

Second pair of Outroads and my wife and I both love them. As noted by other runners, serious durability issues. Second time the uppers have separated between the overlays.

After a decade of loving many pairs of Altras, the Outroad is not for me - my usual size was too snug with a tight feeling toe box, and the narrow foot shape lacks what I love about Altras. Nope.

I have about 80 miles on the shoes and the sole is already worn into the base, and the whole sole is wearing way faster than a shoe of this milage should wear. Ive owned about 7 pair of Altra and this is the first time I've seen your products wear this fast. I would rate these as 100-150 mile shoes, as long ad they don't rip first.
