Been buying Escalantes for many years - have had opinions about small things that were better/worse on different models, but overall, they were all good and I kept buying. These Escalante 3 I just bought are NO GOOD. The cushioning is too much, they don't feel like a zero drop, and while they say it is the same standard foot shape it feels more narrow in the same size i've been buying for years. Laced as loosely as can be over the mid-foot, they still press and rub, but at the same time, feel loose in the heel. The laces can barely tie with how loose I had to make it to not have my feet fall asleep. Feels totally different on a run. They are different enough I psyched myself out thinking ?have I really been buying escalantes, maybe my old shoes have always actually been the racers? - but sadly, no. These are just a completely different and worse shoe. Will not buy again unless the features go back - which is sad because I've been so happy just getting the same shoe for years - will be a bummer to try to find another brand/model fit.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Escalante 2.5--wide toe box and SO roomy. The Escalante 3 feel tight and uncomfortable. I had to stop mid run and take them off as they put so much pressure on the upper side of my foot. I have high arches and the new design just feels extremely tight . SO DISAPPOINTING! Please bring the 2.5 back!

I bought this pair at the Chicago Marathon expo..the gentlemen hightly recommended these to me because of the spring back effect on the road. However, I've only used Altra now for over a decade both trail and road. I've only used the torrin for road for many years so I though okay lets try these out. Little to say I've experience heel pain and proably stemming from the new shoe. I personally will not use these again but will go back to my torrin road shoes. I'm an advocate for the Lone Pine Trail shoe my favorite for sure.

I train and live in Altras (foot shaped shoes). They require patience to get used to, but they're worth it. Altras solved all of my foot issues (bunion and arch pain). Never wearing any another shoe.

I love this shoe. When our local running shoe store didn't have the color and size I wanted in stock, I ordered online. The reviews stated this recent interation was narrower and I would agree. But, it's not uncomfortable. While I love the colors, the black is great to wear when I wouldn't normally wear a gym shoe.

I have heal tendinitis and these shoes feel so great.

Absolutely love the fit. The width is perfect and so is the amount of padding in the bottom. I can lift and run comfortably, and they are super cute, as well. Only thing is that I would request that more colors are added to the options (specifically more aesthetic colors, preferably no neons). I got the black and love them.

I used my Escalante 3s for everything; walking around campus, crossfit, short runs and lifting. Still in excellent condition after 1 year of consistent use. Fits my narrow, ballerina feet perfectly!

I use my shoes to workout. I'm also on my feet all day at work and I never have sore feet. I love the Escalante 3 and the Lone Peak 6 for my hiking shoes. Bring back the 6!! The 7th and 8th aren't as good.

I have a few foot issues (I'm old) & it's not easy finding a comfortable fit in a walking shoe. I purchased the Escalante style & absolutely love them. They are so well designed - my toes aren't slamming into the ends, the width accommodates my bunions, the cushioning in the soles provide great shock absorption, & last but not least, they're pretty!

Absolutely love this shoe. So thrilled with my second pair since I went a size down. I wear an 8 in the Escalante Racers, which is my favorite shoe, but an 8 in this was a little roomy. I went down to a 7 and it's perfect, I think I would have been fine in 7.5 too. They are a wonderful and versatile shoe and I love them for mid/long runs. I switched from Brooks to Altra due to a fracture in my sesamoid bone and have never looked back.

I bought mine at Fleet Foots and wanted to find a barefoot shoe. They didn't have any, but showed me 3 options that had a wide toe shoe. I love these shoes! They feel so much better than my Brooks. I do a lot of walking for my job and I can wear these shoes for 10 miles and it still feels comfortable. I love the wide toe box and the medium cushion. I'm hoping they have a sale so I can buy a 2nd pair.

I've run about 45 miles in these so far. These shoes provide a smooth run with a perfectly wide toe box and my heels slip less in these than in my previous Altras.

I have a few pairs of these shoes and wear them for my 12 hour night shifts as an RN. My body is tired by the end of the night, but my feet feel great. I bought a pair the day before a three day trip to Disneyland. Wore them the entire time and I was the only one who didn't have sore, tired feet at the end of each day. Perfect walking and standing shoes. I love them.

I love this shoe! I feel like they have made my feet and ankles stronger over time. I have had many pairs of escalantes and love the change to a slightly narrower shoe. I would like them to go even a little bit more narrow in the next generation. My only complaint is that they don't look quite as cool as some other brands of running shoes but it is hard to accomplish that with a foot shaped toe box. They have gotten better looking with each generation though.
