I purchased wide initially as I have wide feet. In the first 30 miles or so, I had holes in the heel area. Altra recommended that I switch to regular width, so I did. 31 miles in & another hole.

I loved this shoe. But then the tread started coming off after just 2 weeks of wear. This happened to two different pairs of this shoe. I wish it was made better because I loved them until that.

I stopped running after less than 60 seconds in this shoe. The tongue is a stiff material and the edge is sharp, digging straight into my leg every step. I would have been bleeding by the end of the run.

I love all things Altra. Notice the stuffing breaking through after not much use on these Torin 6 shoes. I haven't ever had this issue with previous Torins. Heel seems narrower and both shoes are now rubbing against my feet. Ouch

I use these mainly for walking. Very disappointed as they are developing tears in the fabric. The first and now largest started after one week of wear. Several smaller ones are now starting. I have never had this happen with a shoe. I really enjoy wearing them but this fabric is obviously defective.

I seriously go through this every time I get a new pair of Torins.
The tongue cuts into your ankles. I replace them every few hundred miles, so every few months I go through this. It's so frustrating. Then on the 6 with the lace now going through a separate piece sewn in, that piece ripped out in less than 100 miles so they couldn't be laced and keep the tongue in place. I just really wish for an updated tongue that I don't have to suffer through every time I get new sneakers.

I bought these because they were recommended by my podiatrist. I only wear them for my walking exercise. Wore them only a handful of times before the back heel started to break and cause horrible pain.

The seam ripped on the side of the shoe with less than 200 miles on them. Emailed warranty team and spoke with customer service and they deemed it "normal wear and tear". Super frustrating to spend this kind of money on running shoes and them not last even to the guarantee. Have never had this happen with any other brand of shoe. Very disappointing and will not be buying this brand again.

I have been wearing the Torin for several years & loved them. My feet feel as though they slope forward in the 6. I can't wear these. These don't feel like "ZeroDrop". PLEASE change these!

I've been a fan of Altra since the beginning, from OG lone peak to Torin 2-4. Why they have to go re-design!!! The newly designed tongue and the tall back heel are just not comfortable! Returned it!

Now I understand what all the negative reviews were talking about with the new rigid tongue on the Torin 5 and Torin 6. I've been buying the Torin 4 on the secondary market because of the bad reviews, and I finally decided to give the Torin 6 a try because of the Black Friday sale, and even at a discount, I had to return them. When I put them on, I could tell that they were more narrow than the Torin 4s and the tongue was rigid. I walked around my neighborhood to break them in and felt the tongue hitting my ankle the entire time. I was going to wear them to the gym and run a mile on the treadmill just to see how they felt, but I put them on, walked a bit in them, and took them right back off. I ended up returning them. Now I'm back to scouring the secondary market for Torin 4s.

This was such a bummer. I had the Torin 5's. They had their problems but they fit my feet pretty well. I had to replace them and tried the 6's and they are so narrow! The toe box feels like every other shoe on the market. Altra is known for its great toe box and they are moving away from that. Had to return them they were so uncomfortable.

I toughed it out with the Torin 5 and its tongue that cuts into the front of your ankle (had to fold the tongue under) but I never trusted the shoe for long distances and never bothered to buy a second pair. I was so happy to hear they fixed the tongue in the Torin 6 but when I tried it on I could feel the tongue digging in just walking around. I don't know why they don't use a plush tongue on this shoe like some of their other models. I enjoy the feel of the Torin but this tongue issue is a deal breaker. Also, the heel area is quite high and I question whether that would rub or not without high socks. Come on, Altra! Put a cushy tongue on this because it is otherwise a great shoe.

I miss the torin 4.5 plush. The Torin 6 doesn't hold a candle. It's too narrow and is going away from what made Altra so appealing. I have a neurona and can't have anything squeeze this one does.

After putting 350+ happy miles on my Altra Torin 4s, I was excited to upgrade to the Torin 6. After buying the Torin 6 and running 4-5 times, they are the worst running shoe I have ever purchased. These shoes hurt the bottoms of my feet so bad that I had to incorporate walking and end my runs early. I held out hope and added an insert, to no avail. How can the same shoe, newer model be so different and wrong?? I bought the shoes from an online seller who doesn't take returns so now, I'm stuck with a shoe that is not suitable for even walking.

Please Please bring back the quantric foam and make a plush version!!!!! You guys ruined a wonderful shoe!!!! Seems from the reviews I am not the only one who would love the 4.5 plush back...but clearly altra is not listening to their customers. Bought the paradigm max cushion but not nearly as soft. Was hoping the 6 would be better but not so much. Back to aching feet EVERYDAY at work for 13 hours.

Tried these on in the store, and immediately noticed the difference in toe box feel compared to the Torin 4.5 (my ride or die shoes for the past couple years - please bring these back!!). My heart sank when I learned that road shoes only come in the new "standard width." Altra, that's great that your trail shoes have kept the original width, but people who train on roads need a wider fit too! I, like many others, switched to Altra because *finally* there was a shoe company making foot shaped running shoes. Please bring this back, this is what made you guys great.

The tongue is hard, too long and uncomfortable. The cushioning is not the old Torin Plush which I much preferred. The cushy footbed is gone. Please bring back the Torin 4.5! Had to return these shoes.

I LOVE so much about this shoe. But, despite promises from Altra that this was fixed, the tongue is still extremely sharp. I have actual cuts (not just blisters) from wearing this shoe. It's such a shame because everything else about this shoe is great.

I can't wear these with no show socks because the tongue is ridiculously sharp and cuts into my ankle. I ran a 10k in them 4 months ago and I can still see the mark from where they gouged into me. I'm hopeful that I'll at least get some miles out of them this winter when I have thicker socks. Such a shame because I love the Torin usually.

I am training for a marathon. I started in th torin 4.5 several years ag. I had to buy the 5 as I needed new shoesI can't bring myself to purchase the 6. I tried it on in the store, but it's nothing like what I started with. What is going on? Where's the room? You're product set you apart and now you are just like the rest of the market.

I love Altra shoes and have had several versions of the TORIN. The tongue on these torin 6's tore up the front of my ankle so that I now have open and scabbing wounds. It is stiff and jams into my skin with each step. The soles on these are pretty stiff compared to prior versions with very little spring. felt tighter in the vertical dimension - width/toebox normal belt my foot felt like it was being squashed top to bottom

I had a pair of the Torin 5's that I loved as long as I wore long socks. Bought the Torin 6 as my 5's had worn out. I took them out on one run and within 1 mile I knew they wouldn't work for me. My ankles, knees, and back hurt after one short run in these shoes. The upper has changed and is more constricting. It feels like they also changed the fit to be narrower than previous models. The foam on the midsole is noticeably stiffer than that of the 5. Everything I liked about the older version was tossed out the window.

Received these and as soon as I opened the box a “stinky feet” smell hit me. Their toe area was wrinkled as if they had been worn and the soles of the shoe were dirty. The inside of the shoe smelled as well!

I had a stress fracture in my foot about 6 years ago and began wearing the Torin. Now, with this new generation it is not good! My knees are hurting and my feet are hurting CONSTANTLY. I've never ever gotten a blister on my toe in Torins. Now I am getting them. The tongue doesn't bother me. But, everything else does! I've given them 5 solid weeks and can't do it anymore!
