The X ULTRA 4 MID GORE-TEX are great around hiking boots for all weather conditions. I routinely wear mine for over 12 hours and they provide the support and protection that I have asked of them. I have recommended these boots to a number of my colleagues.

I have purchased 2 pairs of these boots in 4 years. They feel like a tennis shoe but with the support of a boot. My pairs have been through rough terrain, 16 hr training days, workouts, and outdoor ranges. They have held up in comfort and being waterproof. Best boot/shoe out there.

Really dig the new look of the X Ultra 4. Performs as expected in all conditions (dry, wet, mountains, shoreline, urban). This is my 4th pair in this model, have owned numerous others models which have all functioned exceptionally well.

These hold up to their predecessors. These boots are very comfortable and supportive. The only thing I would change is the black decorative strap they added up the sidewall. Makes them look a bit like basketball shoes.

I bought these because the danners I've always bought I can't seem to get anymore. I'm glad I did !

I have a demanding job as a beverage distributor, I work all year long in every condition. This is the only shoe that keeps my feet dry no matter how worn out they get, I have been using them for years and nothing else compares

My dad absolutely loves these. He's outside all day and hikes as well. They hold up to any element.

I was going back and forth between these and the Salomon Forces boots. I made the decision to go with these and that was a great decision! They're lightweight fit great and are extremely comfortable. I've also hiked up to 10 miles in them and after that hike I came home and ordered another pair in a different color.

Had my on these for a while. I like the insoles and well padded tongue.

These are my fourth pair of Salomon shoes - the boots all fit very well, but the sneaker did not. They are breathable and waterproof. Great boot.

Right from the box to the trails. Perfect fit, comfortable and baptized in mud, streams and various other terrains.

Bought a month ago and used a few times, they needed bedding in like all walking boots but are very light, durable and comfy. Love them so far!

Very happy with these boots. My last pair lasted over 4 years of literally abusing them daily. I wear these for hunting, fishing and work!

Love the look and feel of these shoes. Same Salomon fit every time! I've been wearing light trail runners lately, and these aren't them. A sturdily built shoe that I am proud to have in my collection!!!!

Height is a personal preference, but these have worked well for me as snow boots. The waterproof material is great too.

Bought the X-Ultra 4's to perform as my pair of waterproof shoes, and received so much more than that. Extremely comfy, well insulated, and they keep the sludge and salt of a Canadian winter off of my feet.

I have a previous generation and these are more comfortable with better features. I really like that what used to be the first lace hook now captures the lace, leaving only one hook to gran before tying. Seems like a small thing, but my laces always slipped off that first hook while lacing, making it frustrating. All fixed now. I just got these for Christmas from my wife and I will be ordering the other colors! True to size.

I normally do not write product reviews unless warranted. I decided to purchase these boots after chatting w/ a good friend mine who happens to be a MD / Podiatrist. He frequently wears Salomans. Several years ago, I broke my left ankle, foot, right ankle and right foot. OIF. My friend recommended these and wow arch / foot support is on a whole new level. Lightweight, super comfortable and high quality + GORE-TEX at a reasonable price point. It was a no brainer. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone.

i have had them for about a month now and i am extremely pleased with them. the fit is perfect and they stay dry in wet conditions which is very important to me . i would recommend them to anyone looking for a good hiking boot. they were actually my first pair of Salomons but wont be my last. i have tried others but certainly not anywhere as good as these. i have bought ones that were supposed to be water proof but never were .you cant go wrong with these

I bought these boots a little over a month ago, I am a mail carrier by trade. First thing first, they are extremely comfortable for a long day on my feet, second, I live in northern Montana, the weather gets pretty brutal in my area, these boots have kept my feet dry time and time again. I would recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a comfortable hiking boot!

Great fit right out of the box. I've had almost every previous variation of these shoes and this one is the best yet. Great work to all involved in this latest iteration. These have become my daily shoes. Rain of shine. My feet are happy and dry.

-- The sole is aggressive, good for traction. -- The sole is rather thin, not good for longevity before it wears out. --- The Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid is better for the six warmer months. It is not for cold weather. -- The boot is just slightly on the narrow side, if your foot is slightly wide or you like to wear heavyweight socks it may not work for you. -- I cannot attest to durability, I've worn it for one month. -- The upper eyelets are metal and appear durable. -- Overall comfortable with almost no break-in period.

It is not very comfortable as an everyday walking shoe, but it is worth it.
