They are light weight, the insole is comfortable and I love the way they fit my feet overall, but they're not durable. I wore them for 1 winter and the lightweight "upper" materal developed a hole at the side, where the toes bend. Although the insole is nice, they should add plush cushioning under the foot. I would not buy this model until they change the upper material.

Had to return after three days because top eyelet broke and I could no longer lite the shoe laces. They were very comfortable before that happened.

I've had every incarnation of this boot but this new one seems to have great difficulties in wet conditions.
I don't know if I got a boot from a bad batch but Everytime I've hiked with this in the wet I've slipped and fallen or almost fallen.
I honestly will probably find new boots with a vibram tread because those always seem to do well in wet conditions.
I almost cracked my head open on mountain and I practically had to crawl down because any wet surface was like a sheet of ice in these boots.
Big let down because they're comfortable, light, and supportive.
I had left a great review when I first purchased them but little did I know

I bought these less than a month ago and one of the shoes is already leaking water into my left toe area from just rain. Not worth the cost. Extremely disappointed in quality and durability for the price.

Had these less than 12 months with light walking and hiking. within a few months, theuppers split, meaning they let water in. Then the sole completely detached after less than a year. Really bad quality.

Returning item. I don't have a wide foot by any means but these boots are so narrow in the arches it's unbearable to wear for more than 5 min. Very disappointed with this purchase.

These boots look fantastic but that is the extent of the positives.
They are not waterpoof even though they're Goretex lined, they have a very narrow mid sole which is expected of Salomons, the grip is non existent if you walk on anything other than concrete in the dry and the flex point on the toe box has torn after only 3 months use.

I bought these as I wanted a mid GTX pair of boots to go on the hills, i waked the dog around my local fields as after wearing them a couple of times I knew straightaway that they weren't up for the job of the hills, the outsole and midsole is wafer thin, I mean you can feel EVERY stone rock or tree root they're terrible, for me personally there is a total lack of structure around the heel and tongue area, they're are cut dar to low to be classed as a mid boot for me, the laces lasted 4 months before I had to replace them as the metal lace loops half way up the boot have to much of an edge and shredded the laces. I'm ex UK forces and I've had boots from almost every major brand and thought Id try Salomon and honestly wish I'd never bothered and will never purchase from this brand again. Cheapest nastiest boots I've ever had at a premium pricenot cheap at all.
I wouldn't even leave a start rating, but you have to.

Super comfortable shoe from the start. I could have went a half size smaller maybe. Waterproofness is awesome. My feet have not gotten wet wearing these shoes. I do not run in these or anything but I do wear them 5 days a week at work which involve dirty and muddy job sites, wet grass and so on. I also will go on hikes in these shoes in my spare time. Very comfortable to wear. Great ankle support. I haven't washed them at all. Nothing has broken or ripped. No signs of sole separation yet. I would recommend these shoes. I purchased these and have been wearing them at least 5 days a week since September 2023.

After years of buying and wearing cheaper alternatives and dealing with the consequences, I made the leap after hearing people sing the praises of Salomon's for years. Couldn't be happier with that decision to invest in my health and comfort. After receiving the shoes and wearing for 2 weeks, I bought a second pair. Won't be my last.

Comfy and great for hiking but as soon and the grass gets drenched from a nice heavy rain these boots do not keep the water out. Wet feet = no fun

The fit and comfort of these are completely different than the older version. They are very stiff and narrow. Look elsewhere for your next hiking books!

I bought these for work. I am serving on a federal tactical team and have been wearing Solomon for years. Very disappointed in the fit and feel. Hard plastic blocks are what these boots feel like. I have watched the quality of Solomon diminishing over the years especially the Forces line. I would absolutely not recommend. I bought Lowa Zephyr's and was immediately delighted and satisfied with the superior comfort and fit. Will not buy Solomon again

Bought this for my boyfriend for christmas and he loved everything about it.
It's very comfortable to hike, waterproof or at least it's repellant and it's still stylish.
We hiked so many mountains in British Columbia during winter and spring and it worked super great.

In terms of comfort, you can't beat them. Absolutely brilliant.
In terms of waterproof protection, you may as well wear flip flops. They're supposed waterproof may last a couple of weeks regardless of the warranty that they offer. On top of that the weer across the top of the boot starts to disintegrate with a matter of months. Yes, I use these boots a lot but surely that's the point of spending more on your boots.
If you contact customer support expect a reply much like this after around 9 months usage with no mention of the lack of waterproof protection. AVOID!!
"Upon thorough examination, it has been determined that the shoes have undergone extensive use and exhibit signs of wear that are consistent with reaching the end of their intended lifespan. Consequently, any potential warranty claim related to material defects is no longer applicable."

I bought these and I do not like how the ankle is cut. I have tried to contact Salomon several times to return them for something else. I have been wearing only Salomon boots for 20 years. Because of this experience I may never wear them again. I bet this review will not get me a call either.

Both boots split after light usage in the same place. Totally gutted as they now both let water in. Really comfy with great grips, but now unusable in wet weather:(

First time I worn these shoes, they gave me large blisters on my heels even after a short walk. Then I wore them to the shops and back, and realised the sole was already peeling off as the glue had come loose.
Very disappointed and currently trying to use the warranty, but they have been slow about responding.

Fell in love with these boots years ago, and the sad thing is they spoiled me. Now no other hiking boot will do! You won't regret purchasing this pair of amazing boots!

the metal piece that holds the laces popped off the very first time i tried to lace them up :( had an old pair that lasted five years but these new ones are not great. Didn't even get a chance to walk around in them, they just instantly broke, unable to be laced

These boots were first used in late April 2023 and by the end of June (only 200 miles later) the soles were so worn down as to be almost unusable. Apparently these boots use a 'softer outsole compound' in order to provide a better grip and the premature wear is only to be expected when you're not walking exclusively on wet and slippery terrain. Shame the product description doesn't mention this!

Just did a 5km hike and the balls of my feet are sore from the impact on stones and rocks. Had better protection from trail runners. These are not hiking boots in my IMO.
