It would be a great product if the noises consistently worked. Yes, we use it in a brightly lit room and the noises only make sound about 60-70% of the time. My son loves it when it does work well though.

My 17 month old granddaughter loved this puzzle even more that the farm animal sound puzzle!

This sounds for the animals on this puzzle are fun & pieces fit well. Our little one enjoys playing with it.

My grand daughter loves trying to get the pieces back into their spot in order to hear the animal sounds. Very cute!

My 2 year old daughter loves this puzzle. She knows the names of all the animals on the puzzle. I plan to buy more of these puzzles for her. The only con is that my daughter chews on some of the pieces, but that is an issue with my child, not the puzzle, hence the 5 star rating :).

I had no idea that my child had started putting shapes, images and sounds together and this was her first puzzle at 14 months old. First time she did it herself. I know that other friends have used this puzzle and liked it. The only problem we have had with it is that the mouse piece is currently missing and everytime we turn off the lights the mouse sound goes off. I moved it to a dark cupboard for storage and we are good again. Well made and very durable.

My children are 2 1/2 and 12 months, and they both enjoy this puzzle.

My mom actually bought this for my son's first birthday and he didn't care much for it until months later, but he is now 3 and still plays with this puzzle on a weekly basis. It is awesome to watch his face light up with the animal sounds!

I got this for my kiddo for Christmas. Did not know it would be haunted. It makes noises when I turn off the lights for bed- doesn't matter how far away it is in the room. Turn off the lights - a monkey or snake noice comes out of it. It doesn't feel demonic or anything - otherwise I would have given it 3 stars. I don't even mind the ghost attached with the puzzle. Just wish I knew what I was getting into - although I probably would have been MORE inclined to buy it if I knew. My toddler likes playing with it so that's good. Just a lil heads up about the ghost would have been nice.

My daughter received this for Christmas. I put batteries in and it wouldn't work. We were in a bright lit room, so I didn't understand why it wasn't working. I came on the website to get contact info so I could speak to someone about getting a replacement. I noticed the reviews on products, so I found her puzzle and read through some. After reading reviews with others having the same problem, I read the response from the support team and tried what they said. I put the batteries into the puzzle, turned it on, took all the pieces out, and let it sit under a bright light for a few minutes. A couple of the animals started working, but a few weren't. So I let it sit under the light longer, and after a few more minutes, all of the animals work! My daughter loves the sounds when she puts the pieces in. My only complaint now is that the sounds are somewhat long, in my opinion. One sound will still be playing when she puts in a different piece, but the sound doesn't change. The piece that was put in while a different sound was playing will not make any sound. They have to be done one at a time, and you have to wait for one sound to finish before another will play. I would say the sounds last about 20-30 seconds. My daughter is ready to put other pieces in quicker than that, so she gets a little frustrated when the new sound doesn't play. I'm teaching her how it works, so we'll get it down soon. Other than that, great product.

This is my second Zoo puzzle. The animal sounds seem distorted in this puzzle compared to the one I used 3 years ago. My preschool students love all my Sound Puzzles!

My son was very excited to get this puzzle. He had already worked through the toddler puzzles an needed a bit of a challenge. This puzzle is perfect for those who need a few more pieces to increase difficulty. The problem arose when he solved the first piece, the lion. The sound of each animal is quite loud and frightened my son to the point of tears. We kept the puzzle and he does interact and look at it but refuses to 'solve' the puzzle himself due to the loudness. Ours looks a bit different from the one above so perhaps we have an older version. On the whole I would recommend it but be forewarned about the loudness.

My two year old daughter loves sound puzzles and we feel it provides a host of skill building opportunities.

I was quite disappointed to find out when I received this puzzle that it did not include the batteries. Personally I don't have an issue but I wish I knew in advance so when I gave it to my grandchildren I didn't look like a fool. No where did the ad say it did not come with batteries.

My daughter loves this puzzle. Bought on vacation at a gift shop. Unfortunately all work for the cat.
