It is perfect and has a lot more space than we expected!!! Easy to assemble, made very well and the best is the hinged top. It stays open to protect those little fingers. My daughter is 16 months and feels so accomplished when she gets to pull all her toys out. Aesthetically pleasing.

Love the look and easy setup of this toybox!! It arrived with broken safety hinges though. Hoping they will ship new ones for us!

I was disappointed in the fact that there were not any plugs to cover the bolts. It appears to have been put together in a rush where quality was not a concern. Gaps between joints was consistent.

This is a nice looking toy chest. My wife and I have been fans of Melissa and Doug toys for years. And we have always been impressed with the quality and modern old fashioned feel of their products. This toy chest was our first disappointment, as it is designed to be like a bench seat, but unable to actually support much weight on the lid. Trying to be good first-time parents, we don't allow our two-year old to climb or stand on the lid, as our daughter won't be 30 lbs forever. But my imagination goes to the near future when she might have cousins or friends over, who may want to climb, stand, or jump on the box; notwithstanding weary grandparents, aunts, or uncles looking for a bench to sit on... I made that mistake on day one, but caught myself before any damage was done as the seat bowed dangerously beneath my weight. All that being said, we've found this is still the best wooden toy box for the price - just don't sit on the bench.

I bought this for my granddaughter for her birthday. It was 6 months old and the lid cracked. I called customer service to purchase a new lid or get it replaced. I was told that with normal wear and tear they do not stand behind their products. My granddaughter only visits my home where the toy box is so after 6 months there is not much wear and tear. I am very upset and will not buy anymore of their products. I offered to purchase the part and they would not allow that either. Very upset !
