Received this after thorough research. It's phenomenal, light supple and stops wind dead. Have yet to use it in harsher conditions than 32 degree rain/ hail with only a T-shirt on underneath. It's a marvel in material technology and overall comfort. Bravo to the Insulated Beta, bravo!

I'm 6'1" at 171 lbs. The Medium was a perfect fit on my frame. This jacket packs a lot of warmth in a fairly thin package. I live in the Boston Metro area and I have worn this jacket all winter. It's a great jacket. Blocks the wind and it keeps me dry. I have also had the Beta shell for years and also love it...so I figured I might give the insulated jacket a try this year. Big fan of it without having to rotate layers under it like my shell. Happy with the purchase. My wife constantly steals it to walk the dog as well. Even though it is too big for her, she always raves about how awesome it is compared to her jackets with how warm it is without all the bulk.

I am satisfied with this jacket. I have been using it from -15 C with just a t-shirt underneath, up to +10 C. It keeps me dry and warm in both snow and rain. The fit is comfortable and on the larger end, I use 2XL. External pocket setup is good, together with the internal dump pocket. It has been used for resort skiing and everyday use. Would recommend this jacket. This was a replacement for my 2008 Fission SV.

I've been using the jacket daily for 3 months in the stormy Pacific Northwest.. I've used the jacket in the mountains both skiing and working, i also spent a few hours in the November cyclone working. The jacket keeps you both warm and dry. Initially the jacket was noisy, but that lasted for only a couple weeks of wear. The sizing is a bit large, but that's what I am looking for in an insulated jacket.

One of my favourite jackets for those days when I on the move touring, I can get to the top and throw it over and be cozy and ready to ski down immediately. This really helps me reduce my transition times and the faffing with multiple layers that you have when you wear a shell outer layer. Great for the resort too!

This was my first Arcteryx purchase and i was not disappointed. The vitality blue color looks just like the pictures and i love the fact that all the zippers and pull tabs were in a matching blue tone. The jacket is extremely lightweight, warm and doesn't look too puffy like the down version, which is also heavier. I am 5'11", 180 lbs, size 42 chest, 35 sleeve length, and 32 waist, and the large fit me well. I tried the medium, but it was too tight around my chest.

Brilliant jacket. I use this for hiking and dog walking in the unpredictable British weather, The insulation paired with the gore tex shell is perfect for the wet and windy days keeping me warm and dry, on the other hand when the sun pops out the option to unzip the armpit also keeps you cool while on the move. 10/10 would recommend.

Light, warm, and water proof. Excellent quality as usual with great accessible pockets. Comfortable enough to be outdoors or run errands/daily wear.

183cm tall. 90kg. Arc pants size 36R. Own this in L. Three things. First the coreloft insulation is a much less fierce warmth than down. I've had a Euler IS jacket for a couple years and have always found it more breathably warm than Ceriums and Thoriums. Never overheat; never feel cold. It's weird. So the insulation is the first big thumbs up for this Beta insulated jacket. (I would not buy the down version.) Second, the GORE-TEX shell fabric. It worried me when I first saw this a year or so ago and made me pass by. It felt too thin and fragile, easy to rip. I don't feel the same about this updated version. The outer shell fabric seems thick enough, even if it is not as crinkly/sturdy as an AR shell. It is thicker than Solano, almost but not quite as thick as a Beta LT. Possibly the same as a Kadin. It's good enough for me. And the fit. I have had comedy moments with some L jackets - the new Solano synthetic insulated jacket in L is so gigantic it almost made me laugh out loud. But this fits true in L. Looks more svelte than baggy. Highly recommended. And that's even when I compare it with the all time great, the Camosun.

I bought this jacket recently and got to wear it once before the end of the ski season. It was perfect with minimal layering underneath. It had great mobility on the slopes.

I bought this to replace am Arc'teryx coat I had worn for 12 years, and it started to show some wear. This is very similar to the previous coat, but with pit zips. Great that it has an internal pocket I can use to store my reading glasses and stuff pocket for ski goggles, water bottle sunglasses, etc. Besides everyday wear I'll use for cold weather cross country skiing now that I have pit zips to help with overheating.

To me this jacket is a perefect ski hill jacket, for Canadian climates. I get cold on resorts and need extra warmth. i also use it for ski touring where I know I will be hiking in my hiking layers and then I can put on this warm layer for the breaks and descents.

Great coat. I was looking for a insulated, Goretex coat to give me the best of both worlds this fitted the bill. Love the outer shell which is soft and very flexible. We bought two one for me and one for my wife, good fit sensible length to keep your bum warm and and a good length in the sleeves. Lots of pockets for storage. I can confirm very warm and water proof.

Bought this jacket 2 weeks ago and it came in time for some loss of -15 and wind chill of -37. I must say, I had this on with a thermal base layer and it was MORE than enough. Was debating between this or the Therme but I have no regrets. I went with this because it was more flexible and slim fitting. My fave jacket in my rotation!

For years I've used the 2016 Fission SV as my goto cold weather shell but it lacked a few things so when I finally could check out the Beta IS, I went for it. I did size up for layering to XL, I wear every other ARC jacket in Large but this felt too trim for a lot of layers in that size. This feels like the Fission SL that was my first piece from the brand. I also tried on the RUSH IS at the same time and felt like it would be too warm for my uses and closer to the Nuclei SV which I already have. The combo is perfect on this one, while sizing could be better to make it a perfect ski shell. Gore-tex, pit zips, pocket configuration are all winners. I would suggest this to ice climbers, snow shoers and just about anyone that recreates in colder snowy environments.

One more Arcteryx garment and as usual, performing, comfortable and stylish . Just one negative remark : Just one thing : could be a little bit more insulated but makes really the job though

NOTHING beats the now discontinued Fission-SV. With that being said, this does a commendable job attempting to fill that former coat's greatness. It is slightly less warm and the shell isnt as durable relative to the Fission SV, but it's warmth to weight ratio IS incredible and more than enough with a mid weight layer underneath in cold conditions. I appreciate the slightly longer length which covers my upper thigh and butt and longer under layers I typically wear underneath. The features i.e. fabric lined pockets, internal and external chest pockets, excellent hood, drawstring - all the features make this a home run in my book. Im 210 and 5'10 and find the Large more to my liking - it is a little roomy but the Medium for me would have been tight with an underlayer/sweater underneath. If you wanted even more versatility, you could probably do an ATOM AR and Beta SV Shell and the shell might be better against the elements but 9/10 times, I prefer to just wear 1 coat if I can swing it. Some staples needed - Atom LT, Beta AR, THIS coat and a Therme (SV) for those living in the coldest conditions - with that, youd be set for anything!

I am mainly using for after skiing or around the town. Nice trim fit cut , warm coreloft insulation and useful 2 way zipper. For me , this is an hybrid between skiing shell and around the town down jacket. All in one

I bought this several weeks as my first Arc'Teryx jacket. I love how well made it is and its warmth. I've taken it out in northern Michigan and takes on all challenges.
