I experimented a bit with this order, since this is sort of a hybrid sweater. And i didn't miss. Can't wait to try it for outdoors, but it works perfectly for everyday use.

Great pullover to keep warm for a walk or jog around the block.

Soft interior, windproof exterior, stylish. No zipper layering is the best. Have yet to overheat in it, surprisingly warm. Almost wet myself first time I put it on bare skin. So good.

Recently acquired this piece and am really happy with it. It has served as my midlayer while snowboarding on the resort as well as some backcountry tours. It is warm and very breathable. At first a lack of hood felt strange - but i got to like it as there can be alot of hood management going on at times if every layer has a hood. A very versatile piece thats warm when you are not exerting but very breathable when you are ( bootpacking/pow fiending on the resort and or touring up to your line. Reccomend this piece!

Bought this as a replacement for my first gen Proton FL that I've had for a few years. I really disliked the flimsy hood on that one and wanted something similar in a crewneck style.
This one fit the bill being a new addition to the Proton line with a similar material composition. Overall I'm happy with it, the fit is a tad slimmer than the FL, especially in the upper back and shoulders. Insulation feels a bit bulkier than on the FL, which might contribute to this effect. I can fit a base layer and at most a Delta LT underneath, but it's a bit tight but not uncomfortably so. Looks good over a tee too.
The chest pocket is gimmicky but not a con in and of itself, you don't really feel the zipper head when wearing a backpack, but I would've preferred a side pocket.
A minor con would be the face fabric, when you're sitting down the fabric tends to wrinkle quite a lot and it takes some time for it to straighten out. I'm not too bothered by it being an active midlayer for my use-case, but it might be relevant for someone looking to purchase this as a casual outer layer. I also would've liked a drawstring as I find the hem a bit too wide when worn with just a baselayer.

Medium fits me well, typical well fitting Arc'teryx with excellent shoulder mobility with room for a t-shirt & long sleeve baselayer. Great insulation as always. The face fabric is awesome, higher denier that feels more burly than a few year old Proton LT that has held up very well to abrasion. The low hem is shorter than a jacket, sleeves are a touch shorter than a jacket. All the little details like the ergonomic fabric lines are wonderful, I appreciate the subtle logo. Elasticized hems are nice. Napoleon pocket is useful (I am being picky here, the zipper could use some kind of garage in its closed position for a polished look). I keep placing my hands for flank pockets that are not there. Those would put this garment into the 5 star range for me. The lighter colours will definitely show the octaloft insulationvery warm by the wayunderneath in low angle light if that bothers you.
This is a great midlayer without looking too technical.
