First time buying this brand and I totally don't regret it. Best winter jacket I ever have. I love how lightweight it is. Love how comfortable it is especially in the armpits great movability. Extremely easy to put on or take off the jacket and when you put it on the hood automatically goes on your head. The two ways zipper is awesome if you're driving a manual car and the hood is not so big where it's uncomfortable on the back seat. I'm 5.6 150 lb 38 chest and I took a size small excellent fit. Only one thing I would improve on the jacket if it was the same jacket but the hood was removable.

I absolutely LOVE this new version of the Thorium. Highly recommend it. LOGOs are embroidered makes it feel and look premium. The overall density of the jacket and the quality of the outer shell are extremely impressive. Compared to the previous versions of this jacket it is a HUGE upgrade. Well worth the value of what you pay for. Went in store and tried it on. I could not resist purchasing this amazing jacket. The Forage color is simply beautiful.

This was a gift for myself :) , and an upgrade from Cerium. Well-made jacket, costly, but well-designed and thought-through. The front chest pocket makes sense. I am 185lb and 5'11. Glad I went with XL. It stands out from the crowd.

I just got the new Thorium hoody and been wearing it non-stop in Canmore, Ab. It's very light and very warm. It's a nice improvement from the previous Thorium with the new down. It looks lighter than most down jackets out there but lives up to the Arcteryx reputation. The outer chest pocket is a great little addition and the colours this season are eye catching!

This coat is very warm and built well! I get compliments everywhere I go. It's very lightweight. I'm 6'8" 260lbs. The fit is great and the sleeves are long enough for me.

I like the jacket though I bought the medium, which does not leave much room for layering on my aged pear-shaped body. Good construction, ample pockets, and seems like it will last.

I haven't had the jacket for long but so far it been really good. I am 5'9" and 175p the Large fits me great. I bought this jacket to be my around town mid range down jacket. And if need be throw it under my Rush jacket for cold days riding. The weight/warm feels nice for those cold but not crazy cold days. I've had a Thorium in the past and my only issue with that jacket was I would get wind up the bottom. This new one seems to of been redesigned and that no longer happens. Pros- fit, high collar, fleece lined pockets, cell chest pocket, warmth, zipper and pull tabs work smoothly Cons-no fleece lining on the collar. Nice to have for warmth and keeping the colour from getting discoloured. Arcteryx prob has a reason why they didn't include on this model but for my intended use I'd prefer to have it.

Fantastic jacket. So cozy and warm. Articulated, like the rest of Arc'teryx's line. It's super great. Only gave 4 stars because I carry my weight in my middle and it's tight there and very roomy up top. It's made for slim people.

I previously owned the Cerium hoody which I really loved for it's as advertised weight to warmth ration. Certainly the Throium Hoody is a beefed up version of this down and for sure is more of a standalone coat. The issue I've had with this piece and the down insulated Beta AR jacket I recently returned is that the waist is super tapered. I'm 5'7 and 150lbs with broader shoulders and a 30 inch waste and still the fit was so snug and rides up when you bend over. Perhaps most disappointingly it was not as warm as I expected. The quality seemed really solid which had me really bummed because it was such a good looking piece overall.

Looks sharp. For the price, I thought the down would be more even in the jacket without cold spots.

So it seems pretty warm considering it weighs nothing, though yesterday was -7 and it wasnt super warm. But the waist and lower back design is not comfortable, its too tight, feels like I'm wearing a corset. Its kind if a ridiculous aspect of the coat. I got a Medium, I feel a Large would be too big in the shoulders etc. I cant wear a thick shirt under this, I can barely zip it up as it is. Considering a return or an exchange. I'm 5'11, 197Lbs athletic-ish build.

I really like this jacket, the construction feels high quality and it is certainly warm. The new two-way zipper is also great, allowing me to use it when belaying. However, the hood is not helmet compatible, despite being described as so. When wearing my helmet with the hood up, I cannot do the zip up, and if I could the collar would come up to just below my eyes - not at all practical. The odd thing is that on the women's version, the hood is much bigger and this is not a problem. Not sure what the reason is for that difference between the models but it's a big disappointment for me. I reached out to customer support about this - their response was that 'the hood would fit better over some helmets' - but not sure how accurate this is.

TLDR: Some nice upgrades, but too many issues for the price to keep. I ordered the new Thorium Hoody in the Forage color in size small which I ended up liking a lot better than the black that I ordered 2nd. Problem is, I was sent the size Medium instead of the size I ordered. That's alright though as these things happen - no big deal. Since the returns site is non-functional, I purchased the small in size black since it would be a faster process than waiting for an email with a return link, but when I got the jacket, the first was virtually identical to the size medium that was accidentally sent to me the first time. In fact, the fit and feel of the jacket in black is somehow worse: the sleeves are too baggy for someone of a slimmer build, the cuffs don't form a seal around the wrist to keep out drafts, and in the body of the jacket the fit was identical to the medium - virtually nothing felt different. I do like the face fabric as my main issue with a lot of down jackets is they just feel too delicate. Like the Thorum AR that came before this, I really do like how sturdy and durable it feels compared to something like the Cerium jackets, so that's great. The jacket does feel reasonably warm as well but maybe not as lofty as I was hoping. I tested the jacket for warmth in the recent 10F cold, but since the small fit the same as the medium, it didn't feel right and it was drafty in the jacket. Also, the lining in the pockets is top-tier and it's one of my favorite new features. It's a bit strange how the fit in the smaller size was somehow worse than the size medium. I'm 5'9 and 150 lbs with a slim build, and I'm tempted to try size XS, but I think I'm done with the whole online ordering experience as things just aren't meeting expectations. The nail in the coffin too was the comment from my wife about how looked cheap for the price. The forage color does look better for sure, but I'll put this one aside until I can maybe try it on in the store. I'm done trying to make this work online, and will most likely pick up the Atom Heavyweight Hoody instead.

Warm but not durable. Within a month of owning this jacket the outer layer had torn. There was no heavy activity or even an event that would have ripped this. Likely a gentle snag. Also noticing more degradation and loosening of seams.

Jacket started leaking feathers after 1 week of purchase and zipper feels cheap. I spent thousands on products here and this jacket is overpriced, cheap quality, and very disappointing. Do not buy.
