I did consider this jacket in the past but ended up feeling the density and the outer shell of the previous version of the jacket just kept me away from purchasing it. This new version of the jacket makes it worth it from my perspective. You won't regret this. The jacket feels like top level quality (I really like the density of the insulation) the logos are EMBROIDERER which is absolutely great looking and I feel confident that the outer shell will not rip off accidentally. Highly recommend this new version of the Thorium Parka.

I love Arc'Teryx stuff but being tall it's difficult to find stuff that's long enough (I'm 6'3", 200 lbs.). Arc'Teryx, if you're listening, make stuff longer!! That said, this item is perfect. The length is great, the fit is great, the warmth is great, the durability is great. This is a homerun.

I bought this for the upcoming unusually cold spells we seem to be having here in the Pacific Northwest and I couldn't be happier. The Parka kept me nice and warm at the single digits temps we were having. The neck design kept drafts out and the hood stayed put. In particular I liked the added length of the parkas body to complete the cold weather use.

It's quite warm, stand alone for -2 Celsius windy weather. The fleece pockets are a huge win for me. I'm 5'11" athletic built and the large fit just fine.

Much lighter than I thought which I love. Only a touch longer in length which is worth it. Very glad I went with the parka vs the hip length. The material seems very durable and the color green is darker than the images which is also great in my opinion! The bottom zipper that opens upwards is handy too. Internal pockets are great. The collar is tall and perfect for keeping out the cold.

Like the longer length for more coverage but not too long where you feel like you are wearing a sleeping bag and aren't able to use for any athletic activities. Two way zipper is clutch, and also enjoy the fleece lined pockets. Feels more durable than my Cerium - feels like a better stand alone piece than a Cerium whereas the Cerium felt more suitable as a midlayer. I wear a Medium in the Cerium and a Small in the Thorium

it is fairly warm. The hood is really really way too small. This jacket would have been so much better if the hood was a better size

I bought this jacket to be a daily driver in Ontario. I first bought a Mammut taiss IN Hooded Jacket to replace an old cerium LT. I loved my cerium but wanted to try something new as I almost always stick.to Arc'teryx jackets. Love the Mammut jacket even more than my cerium LT but realized the 7D fabric would be too fragile for everyday use. I relegated it to warm mid-layer duties and cold weather light technical uses. Now I thought this parka would be the perfect daily driver given its longer length and 30D fabric. I thought about the therme SV but thought it might be too warm for southern Ontario and it would have a more niche use here. Now this jacket is the perfect fit for casual everyday use. It is slightly baggy through the arms and body for layering and a relaxed look. The sleeve length is perfect and I appreciate the extra few inches to cover my bottom. I'm 5'10 160lbs for reference. Now the hood. It's just so freaking small. I have a size large head (59cm circumference)- above average size. The cerium has what I thought was the greatest good ever. It perfectly wrapped my head with just enough space and stretch to make movement easy. Now this hood has zero stretch and the brim barely extends past my hairline. When it's zipped up it pulls the rest of the neck and shoulder area taught . It's exacerbated when wearing a backpack as it increases the tightness even more. I love using hoods instead of toques when it's cold and windy and I'm just transitioning from indoor locations I don't need a hat and can just toss the hood up. I wish I bought this jacket via the online arcteryx store and not have purchased this jacket in the states(on vacation) at a local store, otherwise I would be returning this jacket. I gave it three stars because the rest of the jacket is awesome and maybe some people with small heads will find the hood appropriately built.

Unfortunately it seems like sizing has changed. I have a L Atom LT from a few years ago and it fits perfectly (I'm 6'7" 210lbs). This jacket in size L is small/tight in the shoulders and far too short in the arms. Fit in the lower body is a bit big and no drawstring to close things up. I'll be returning and looking for something else as I expect the next size up will be too big in the body. Quality is still great, material and construction feel excellent, it just doesn't fit. I'll be second guessing if Arcteryx will fit me now .
