The shoe itself is nice. I don’t like the fact there seem to be no options to have “smooth” leather. I would purchase more as they are comfortable. Kept a distressed grey pair I’m happy with. Would like more options from Born as they are comfortable with wide toe box. My only complaint is with Zappos itself. I ordered several pairs of Born shoes. Each were shipped in plastic bags as opposed to shipping boxes. This pair appeared to be distressed beyond the shoes itself…the box was beat up horribly!! Several pairs of Born shoes that appeared to be in storage for some time…and, shipped in bags! Damaged In transport. When I returned, Zappos sent nasty email about condition returned. Turned out, it was the box they were speaking of…the very one damaged due to poor shipping!!! I have shipped several returns and ALWAYS return in pristine condition. This was on Zappos itself.

This shoe is comfortable and has been easy to wear from the beginning—no long break-in time. I bought a bit of a larger size to fit a cushion in the shoe due to an Achilles issue and it works fine.

Good looking shoe, Tan, comfortable. Unfortunately my heels slip in Borns and my forefoot slaps the ground when walking. I've tried 8.5 and 9. Returned

Love these shoes. So comfy. On the classy end of casual, I expect to have them for a while. I would have ordered another pair after I got these but they didn’t have my size in the distressed finish.

I just slipped these puppies on to run to the bank. I was freefooting and they felt AWESOME! So VERY comfortable! I haven’t worked in them yet; nor have I tried them with socks on. However, my first impression of them was absolutely AMAZING…especially for the money I paid for them! I’m a hit y’all back after I work in them, cuz my line of work requires standing and walking for over 80% of my 8-hour shift!

I got these for my husband after a long search. He had an old pair of Sperry slip ons that were similar to these but are not made anymore. He travels for work and likes the slip on. He loved them and he is very picky with his shoes

I am a Born fan and these did not disappoint. They look like the picture, fit well and feel good.

Nice quality and style. Because the platform is somewhat larger than the upper, I needed to reorder a half size larger (perhaps could have done a full size larger) because I couldn't get my foot in my normal size. Still early days but they are breaking in nicely.

I'm returning them so clearly something is off. I own another pair of Born shoes size 11 1/2 which fit perfectly. This 11 1/2 is too small. So a little disappointed in that. I'm returning this one as well as a size 12 which is too big

The fit is good in the toe region, however the material of the shoe is a stiffer type of leather. The first two times I have worn them, they were not very comfortable in the heel area. Perhaps they will become a little looser the more I wear them. I do like the style of these shoes.

The shape of shoe caused me to go a half size larger than usual. I eventually found that the larger size caused the heel to rub the back of my foot, making the shoe unwearable for more than very short periods. I've initiated a return under Zappos' very helpful return policy. Otherwise, a good looking, well-made shoe.

I almost sent them back because they are heavy, and a bit clunky. That said I bought them to be a closed-toe/heel Birkenstock. Turns out I am wearing/enjoying them a lot. I did a long walk to a brew-pub a couple miles away. No issues, except they are heavy for a hot humid day. I'm wearing them a lot for slip-on ease on the weekends. They aren't causing me any issues. So I like them for the intended purpose and then some.

These are fantastic shoes. Don’t be dissuaded by reviews complaining about the weathered appearance…it clearly states “distressed” in the product description and what you get ends up suede-like, which I really like (and since I can actually read, I knew what I was getting). After researching the reviews/fit I ordered a 1/2 size larger and I’m glad I did…the 11.5 I ordered fits like most of the size 11’s I have (at least the ones that don’t run small). They’re also quite comfortable for being relatively minimalist and I really like the composite rubber soles (which I assume are made from recycled materials, a good thing). This indirectly relates to my only complaint…I didn’t receive the original box (it was apparently damaged in shipping and re-boxed) so I didn’t get the brand’s standard labeling or packaging inclusions and therefore don’t know much about them other than the shoes themselves. Since this is my first pair of Born shoes, I guess it’s only….fitting that they’re missing their…identity. ;)

Very bummed that these were suede finish -- online they look like solid leather, but the distressed finish is more suede like and I know I would destroy them within days. Perfect and comfortable shoe, great design. Please introduce a full leather version.

I like the overall style. I wish more loafers were a single upper piece over the toes (like these are) instead of having a seam around the perimeter like a moccasin. I got the dark brown/full grain but the color looked a little more reddish than I thought it would be. Forgivable. But what wasn't forgivable is that they simultaneously felt cramped in the toe and flapped at the heel. They would be highly uncomfortable to walk in any distance at all. Is this a feature of Børn shoes? I've had another pair for a long time that I always liked except for how bit they were for the size.
