A wonderful jacket!! I bought it for the thumb holes and the design and it's holding up great! Not as warm as I would have liked, I still have to pretty heavily layer in the Minnesota winter, but overall a great purchase. I sized up to make sure that I could layer, but it fits true to size other than that.

Beautiful coat, but the sleeves are very tight. I really debated on sending it back, but I'm afraid that with any layers it will be uncomfortable.

Everyone rated this true to size, but the Medium was really big for me. Would have liked a thicker jacket too

Nice jacket but not really warm. I love the design but the jacket is not for freezing temperatures

Nice coat, looks better in person. I like the flashy gold insulation on the interior. It has thumb pockets too. Its not going to be a very warm coat on its own though, but if you layer a sweater or another long sleeve item underneath you'll be alright. I'm 5'11 at 175 and it fill well in a large. Roomy enough to wear hoodies underneath.

Great jacket, perfect for cold weather, not too thick or heavy.

Love the fit and look of this coat, have not tested in very cold weather yet but seems like a nice mid-warmth option.

Bought for a trip to Iceland in late March. All of the coats I was considering on this site, including this one, had lots of reviews saying "really warm" and a few reviews with specifics ("Iowa in February" "18 degrees", etc) saying they weren't warm enough. Hard to figure out what is what based on that but I gambled on this one being warm enough despite being lightweight.
Up sides: unusually lightweight enough that it's not painful to carry around an airport, supermarket, etc. Long enough to protect upper thighs from the elements, and very wind- and water-proof (well-tested in high winds and sleet/rain showers in Iceland). Arm cuffs are cozy. 2-way zipper means that you can open the bottom if you want more give for sitting down or hiking. No winter coats are really flattering but this one has a fairly slim cut. Hood is insulated and adjustable- great for seeing sites in sleet and rain.
Warmth: I was fine in 15-20F with layers (one wool, one silk base layer) especially when I was moving. I could feel that I wasn't 100% insulated from the cold but I didn't feel cold. In the 35-40 degree weather in Reykjavik I was fine with whatever I was wearing (but always had long sleeves). Can't tell if the reflective technology does anything.
Downsides: Pockets- I sent back the Carson Interchange jacket because it's heavy and hard to put your hands in the pockets. In this coat, the pockets face the natural direction but they are small. I could store a not-bulky glove in them or my small wallet, but not both comfortably. The pockets also feel weirdly high. (It's nice that there is a small internal one for a hotel key, lip balm, etc.) Also, as others have mentioned, the zipper wasn't terrible but also sometimes took some finagling. Between straightening out the long arm cuffs and fiddling with the zipper, putting the coat on is a bit more of a production than some other coats can be.
Overall this coat functioned fine and I'm sure I'll use it again in NYC winters, but I'm not in love with it.

If only the hood was removable. Also not clear what to do with what seems like a deep inside pocket on the left side but isn't (there's no bottom) - there needs to be some visual or feature guide.

Ordered a size larger to wear over bulky winter sweaters but there is plenty of room. Returned for my usual size. Love that it is light weight and not bulky. Good quality. Would recommend to a friend.

Quality construction, nice hood, really like the inner cuffs, but shell fabric is beefy, making the overall weight of the jacket heavier than I wanted in a down jacket, so I returned. The fit is roomy/boxy, so while I often wear a M in coats (5'7"/135lbs) the S was comfortable with a light layers; don't think it would work with heavier sweater.

Ordered a XXL jacket. Jacket had "quilted pattern" when the images showed it to be smooth. Over all seems like a warm jacket.

Its ok. Its warm. Looks nice. I debated on keeping it. The hood is not detachable and I dont ever use hoods. It is definitely short in pockets. It has only 2 zipper hand pockets and 1 small chest pocket inside. Other things that look like pockets are not. In this price range I would expect more inside pockets or a couple of additional flap pockets on the outside. And of course, the hood should detach.

I like the length of the jacket I'm 5'4" and it falls mid thigh. The pockets are also lined with fleece so it is warm in case I forget gloves. It does well in wealth around 40 degrees F. But you need a sweatshirt underneath.

This coat is lovely when it comes to the fit and look. It's flattering to the figure. And as far as functionality, it could be warmer. It's warmth is a 2 and I think it's a 1 personally. The omnitech only runs through the bodice, it should probably run through the arms too. I can feel a breeze come in the arms. I live in the high desert where the low this November has been at 38F (not cold at all). My old columbia jacket had omnitech running through the entire inside and was ranked as a 1 in warmth but I think it's warmer than this coat. Also I like how high the neck runs on this coat, however it's loose enough to let cold air in, so unless you're wearing a turtle neck or scarf under, you will feel the cold come in. The temps here will drop to single digits later this year. I don't think this coat will suffice.

This jacket is really nice looking but runs a bit small imo. I can't wear anything thicker than a tshirt under it. I'm typically a size med and bought a med. The pull zipper is not the easiest to zip. It's not as warm as my puffer jacket. I saw myself wearing it more in the spring and fall than winter months.

I've been on the hunt for a high-quality, super warm winter coat to walk my dog and shovel snow. I've bought and returned several coats online because nothing is quite right. This coat arrived and around the house, I was quite warm. I finally decided - this is the one, cut the tags off and threw them away.
This coat is NOT the one. I wore it in 50 degrees, I wore it in 30 - I was not warm and could feel the wind blowing through it. The body has the reflective material, but the arms do not. Unless you have the hood up, cold air drops in right around your neck because it doesn't fit close to the neck. The style is cute but I regret keeping this coat and the money spent on it. Maybe I'm not wearing the right clothes under my coat to stay warm, but I am more satisfied with my Eddie Bauer coat than this coat from Columbia. I wish they would give a temperature rating for their products, rather than some line about how each person is different. I guess I'll wear this between seasons...

I bought this to replace my other Columbia jacket. The jacket seemed quite nice, but was much thinner than my Lay D Down Li mid coat. I live in MN and did not think this would work for the below zero weather we get. I sent it back so can't be sure, but I was certainly disappointed at how different it felt than the other coat. The Lay D Down jacket is the warmest jacket I've ever had, especially with the mid length.
I would use this Mountain Croo jacket in a heartbeat if I lived somewhere where it didn't get below 30F.

This is a beautifully made jacket. Unfortunately the arm sizing seems to be way off. I consistently were an XL in a variety of performance brand jackets. This fit great through the body but the arms were very narrow, to the point of being tight. I wanted to keep this so bad, but ended up returning it because of the arm issue. I feel the body of the garment ran true to size but the arms, not so much.

Fabric seemed good quality. Good fit nicely. Inner cuffs were nice, but I prefer elastic binding on a fitter cuff. I returned because jacket was basically flat, barely any filling. To me, it was not worth the extra money compared to the Columbia Delta Ridge jacket. I wear a large in clothing and the large fit me well.

Coat is cute but tailored and I felt it ran a little small. Biggest problem was that it was not as warm as promised for dog walking in the Wisconsin climate. Didn't like the knit cuffs. I'm sorry it didn't work out.

Feel like not 650 power down fill. Not for a cold winter wear. Good for MN this Year winter only.

My trusty Lay D Down was 6 years old and ready for retirement, so I had purchased for the upcoming Artic blast. I layered with a sweater in -20F temps to walk a few blocks for a hockey game. Definitely did not hold a candle to my old coat, the wind whipped right through and felt like I wasn't even wearing an outer layer. The fit and Cinder color are gorgeous and I'd like to keep it but just doesn't fit the bill for extreme weather. If you're planning on using it in 20F+ and running errands it would be fine.

Gorgeous design BUT not properly proportioned for short women. I am a 4-6 Petite. Got a small: Arms very long, body ok but no room for layers. Tried returning and ordering up and in the medium shoulders too large and arms 4 inches too long. If you're under 5'3" forget about this coat. I wish Columbia offered outwear in petite sizes. I would be a lifetime customer.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Disappointed. This coat is very expensive with a good reputation, but it's really not all that great. It's definitely not warm enough, and the wind cuts right thru it. The material is durable, cleans well, but really doesn't do much for warmth. The hood does not stay put even pulling it tight when up. The pockets are not deep enough for even light gloves. Only one interior small pocket, which is difficult to get to when coat is zipped. Does not handle Chicago weather at all, can't even imagine trying to use this for winter sports. Honestly, my $50 jacket that looks similar is warmer and has more functionality. Would have returned, but I kept trying to give it the benefit of the doubt.
