If you want a hiking boot/shoe that doesn't look all clunky, this is a good one. However, I knew it was going to be returned the second I put my foot in. I ordered 4 pairs of hiking shoes to compare and these ones were far and away the least comfortable. It's as if there's no lining, insulation, or padding anywhere. The inside heel is like a rock hard piece of cardboard. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was missing some kind of inside liner... it's sad because I have Sorel snow boots and expected much higher quality. The entire inside (not just the heel) is very comfortable even with thick boot socks.

I have these in two colors and wear them all winter here in MN. For me they fit great. I recently bought my second pair and immediately wore them on a weekend out of town involving lots of walking all day and I had no issues. I do agree with another reviewer that said the tongue is too skinny and leaves small holes when you lace them up that could potentially let water in which is odd for a waterproof boot, but it hasn't been a problem for me so far and it's been a snowy winter.

These are without a doubt some of my favorite boots I've owned. Waterproof, great traction, and I'm always a sucker for the style. These do it all for me. I don't know why the website says to order a size up. I usually wear 10.5 or 11. I tried some 11.5's at the store and they were super big. So I decided to go the lower of the two and ordered 10.5's, and even these have a little bit of room in them. I'd probably say order your true size and go from there.

I own three pairs of these boots. They are a great middle ground between comfortable and utility. I've heard complaints that they don't hold up well to abuse, to be fair they are not a work boot. I work in CNC machine shops and I have a "rough" pair that I wear to work, a casual pair that I wear out & about, and a backup pair for down the road. The pair I wear to work is three years old and they are just starting to lose their form so they are fairly durable and definitely waterproof.

I've rocked these for a year now and where them all winter. It took about a month for them to break in. I love the look and performance. Plus, they clean super well and easy.

They are way bigger than normal size. I wear a twelve. Ordered and 11.5 after originally getting a 12. Still too big.

This is my second Ankeny Hiker boot. The first was version one. This version, Ankey II is just as good. This boot has served me well on light snow days, fashionable around town and great traction and comfort on the trail. I've had this boot for almost a year. With winter starting again, I used leather conditioner today to get them ready for another season.

Love the boots. Way more stylish than I expected. Warm, but not too hot. Waterproof (a must). I bought these for all day use and put 10-15 miles a day on them. The soles are rubber which I thought would be better for grip but I've had a few almost-slips. Probably more the fault of a very slick surface (painted staircases, etc), and now that I'm breaking them in they are better.

Comfortably wide and cushy shoe I could easily wear all day long. I bought a replacement pair of insoles thinking I would need them but the ones that came with were instantly recognizably better. The toe box is wide but still attractive and probably what we all need for your toes to properly spread.

Great fit, supportive & warm! Good traction in snow/ice and easy to get on and off. The boots are obviously good quality and are designed to wear naturally, i expect to have these for a LONG time.
