I've bought a few pairs of these as I like the lighter style, and my kids find them easier to put on than the Moab or trail chasers. However, they barely last the 4-6 months my kids are in a given size! In fact, I'm writing this because I'm having to buy something new for my older son who has destroyed the treads and the elastic laces after less than 6 months of use. He hasn't outgrown them - they're just totally worn out. I'll go back to the Moab style, but I would not buy this style again - just bummed bc I bought several pairs with a sale because my kids loved the patterns. We'll wear them out and buy something else I guess.

I wanted to love these shoes. I bought a pair for 2 of my high energy children. One shoe fell apart in less than a month and was unwearable. The other child got a bit more use out of them, but his were falling apart in less than 3 months. I expected much more from Merrell. I've worn their shoes before and was impressed by the quality, but these just didn't last.

I had high hopes for these Merrell's when paying this amount for shoes for my 9 year old. He thought they looked so cool when we chose them and they do! He wears them basically every day to school and the Velcro strap is holding up better than his last pair. Within two months of wear, however, they are already coming apart near the toes where the upper material meets the lower.

We bought these shoes specifically because they advertised as glow in the dark & we're space theme! We have a big space fan. The shoes are holding up structurally but they have faded and they only glowed for two days. We tried putting them under lights and immediately moving to darkness, but no luck. Not sure why. I'll still buy their shoes, but these were a flop

I bought this about a month ago for my 7 year old. He uses them mainly for school. The shoes already look like they are 2 years old. The glow in the dark spots get dirty and stop glowing, and the black overall just shows a lot of dirt. The material on the front is also coming off from the sides, it's a shame. I would return if I could.

I purchased these sneakers for back-to-school school for my 9yo. I thought since we regularly hike they would be worth the price and the style was more mature but still fun for 4th grade. The positive: they look good and my son liked the colors. The negative: they are completely flat-footed and have no arch support. After 2 weeks of back-to-school with just regular gym class, my son complained that they are not very comfortable or appropriate for gym as they are not cushioned. They are relegated to the garage now and unfortunately have been "bumped" from our back to school wardrobe.

I bought these in March 2020 for my active kiddo. Used during everyday activities and not even three months later the stitching is coming undone and the shoes are starting to wear quickly. I have loved Merrell shoes and we've bought hiking boots and sneakers from them before but these ones are a massive disappointment. Look great but not durable.

I absolutely LOVE the look of these sneakers and my son loves everything about them. That said, we've had them for less than a week and the toe is coming apart on both. This has never happened on any pair of sneakers my son has ever had, Merrell or otherwise. So disappointed.

The front plastic on the shoe came apart after only a week or two. Very disappointing.

My 9-year-old son said the shoes were pretty comfortable and he liked the look of them. Unfortunately, they began to fail after less than a month and became unwearable within 5 months. First, one of the eyelets holding the laces frayed and snapped. The rest of them on one side all gave way by 3 months. Now, 5 months later, the velcro strap is falling apart, the lace eyelets have all pretty much disintegrated, and the uppers are tearing. The soles surprisingly have held up pretty well, so not everything is bad. I have Merrel boots that have lasted years and years, but these shoes not so much. These will be the first shoes one of my kids has gone through before actually outgrowing them.

My kids had onother Marrel shoes, I trusted to the company and bought again for my kids, these new pairs are really bad quality, the sole are made of fomi, isn't very durable. Specifically for kids that always play outside. Completely disappointed.

Bought these for my daughter in September and already the sole is coming off on both shoes. We've had good luck with Merrells lasting well in the last, but now I'm nervous to purchase anymore after this. Can't afford to replace shoes every few months.

I bought these shoes for my son at the beginning of the school year and they lasted 11 weeks exactly. The soles have worn down, the toe is torn apart - they are destroyed. This was my first time buying Merrills - I normally buy Nike or Plae shoes. The Merrills have significantly poorer quality although they are a similar price point.

Love the look and feel of these for my 5yr old, but after only a weeks wear, the toe rubber started coming off. Now, 3 weeks later, it's gotten much worse. Really disappointing!

Our boys loved these shoes and so did we...until the velcro failed. We ordered two pair of these shoes in April and by June the velcro no longer worked. Also the metal loop that connects the strap to the shoe turns 90 degrees causing the velcro strap to be longer and my kids cannot tighten the strap as much as needed. The velcro alone causes me to give these an overall 1 star rating. Otherwise, the tread has held up, they wash easily and the kids love them!
