I got these echo waterproof mid hikers last month to try. The day I got them was the warmest day in January so I took full advantage to try them out at our local trail. The trail was muddy and wet and my feet stayed nice and dry. They were very comfortable as well. I did order 1/2 a size up from my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly.

I needed a pair a shoes where I could walk wih my dogs on the side of a road with virtually no shoulders. The grass/weeds can be very wet and the terrain is uneven and slopes. These help me do that without my feet soaked through.

I love my new shoes. I have a hard time finding shoes that I like but this one I like right away. They are non sleep and waterproof perfect for walking dog early in the morning. I do not like walking on concrete and I'm always afraid that I'm going to sleep and fall on the grass but not in this shoes. I walked on the snow ice on the wet grass without falling and my feet stay dry. They have padded heel for comfort. These shoes are lightweight and have a great traction. The grip ground really well. I already recommended them to my girlfriends Finally hiking shoes that look nice.

I can say that I am impressed with these Echo Trek Waterproof Mid Hiker boots. I am always wearing sandals or random sneakers when we go on walks and regret it afterward, these are perfect! These are a little snug and have some breaking in to do, but overall they are quite comfy, grip the ground well, and protect my feet well. A good quality product!

I never heard of this brand Ryka before. I was so excited to try these hiking boots. My son is an avid environmentalist and loves to take me along on hiking trails to educate me on different species of trees and plants and flowers etc. I would always wear my casual everyday sneakers and by the end of the day my feet would be killing me. The sneakers I have were not meant to be worn for climbing up and down hills and trekking through different kinds of terrain and weather. These hiking boots/ shoes were so cushiony and comfortable. And best of all they are waterproof. They provide extra arch and heel support and the soles have treaded grooves for extra traction. They are lightweight, and they support my ankles without hurting. These shoes kept my feet warm and dry and best of all I didn't slip even when walking (carefully) on wet, slippery surfaces. I walked through grass and mud and my feet remained cozy and dry. The shoes are comfortable, true to size and well constructed. They came already laced and the laces are sturdy. I love them! Great shoes! shoes!!

A good choice to keep my feet dry. A bit heavy and a bit hot to wear, but that's to be expected (I think) of any footwear that's waterproof. I wear a 9.5 wide in Ryka typically. I ordered that size and feel like the toe box is just a bit narrow for me. I wouldn't want to walk more than 2-3 miles in these.

I love my Dynamic Ryka cross trainer shoes for aerobics, so I hoped these hikers would work. Loved them overall, but the grooves on the soles did not have enough tread for wet, muddy, and rocky hiking conditions.

Very little arch support, feet are tired and achy after walking two or more miles. Not worth the price

Non cushioned. Arch way too high. Hurt my feet after 5 minutes wearing them. Will returned them.

Light(1 lb, 7.5 oz), comfortable and has arch support (O-contour footbed). The insole is removable for washing. The shoes will be used for a future hiking trip in Scotland, as Scotland has rainy days and the waterproof feature will be definitely useful. I sized up(8.5 to 9) to allow for the thicker wool socks I will be wearing but if regular socks are used, may purchase your regular size. Would recommend this shoe!

I was looking for a waterproof shoe or boot to take on an Alaskan cruise, for light hiking. These fit the bill perfectly. I was able to walk without breaking them in at all. The high tops do not rub around my ankles. They are cute, more like tennis shoes than boots and lighter than hiking boots. I usually wear a 7 and bought a 7 1/2, thinking I needed more room for thick socks. They feel plenty roomy so think I a size 7 would have still worked for me. Thanks, these were exactly what I needed.

I'm a size 11 and have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I have a pair of Ryka ankle boots and just bought these Echo Trek sneakers. Both are the most comfortable shoes I own. These sneakers are supportive and perfect for walking. Not too firm and not too cushy soft. They're just right!

Nice shoe with excellent support. I bought the wide to wear with heavier socks and they are a bit wide in the heel (for me). Wear them several days a week for my 4 mile walks, and they are very comfortable and supportive.

I purchased these in a 7.5W, which is the usual size I take when a wide width is available. They fit true to size and have what I'm guessing is moderate arch support. I can feel it there but it doesn't cause my feet to start hurting right away which is what happens if there's too much. They don't come up as high as I was expecting. I do have more lateral support than I had with the sneakers I replaced. I haven't worn them through puddles, but they are nice on trails in dry conditions, and stayed dry and grippy through a walk around a damp field. If these continue to keep my dry, they will be my go-to shoes for trails and wet conditions. I am happy!

Decent looking Hiking Sneaker… Comfortable, and handles the outdoors just as well if not better than my Very Expensive Hiking BOOTS.. I would recommend them?

I love these shoes. I hate getting my shoes, socks, and feet wet, and these shoes kept me dry and comfortable. They were perfect for a very rainy Oregon visit in May, crossingcreeks, hiking in wet woods, walkingin the rain. My sister told me to get waterproof shoes and I'm glad I found these.

Fit and size are perfect. The toe box accommodates my bunions which is a real plus. Purchased because waterproof. Haven't worn in rain yet so can't comment on that.

I was looking for a water-resistant SAND-proof shoe for beach hikes, and this shoe has worked great! Absolutely no sand filters into these. They're lightweight, too. I gave them 4 stars for comfort because the sole is thinner and has less traction than I'd like. A thicker Vibram-like sole would make this shoe a 5 star purchase all around for me.

I liked these on line & just as much in person. I have been looking for waterproof shoes for quite awhile and these are the ones. I have one foot bigger than the due to a surgery but these fit nicely and it has good support.

My feet are a nearly full-size difference and sometimes I can get away with an 8.5 wide. This time I had to go with a 9 but the boots were perfect. I was worried that I didn't have time to break them in before we went on a trip. No need! I hiked 6 days straight in them between 5-8 miles. They were very comfortable and kept my feet dry. I was a little worried that the sole might be slippery, but it performed very well. I would not hesitate to buy these again.

I'm very happy with these. They are very comfortable hiking shoes. If you wear a very thick sock when you hike, I would go a half size larger.

The only thing I crave is increased platform. I love Ryka being women-owned, etc, I'm baffled as to why the low platform. As a short Asian with wide Asian-type feet, I crave to find a waterproof running/walking shoe with platform support, also wide, and cute. I like the lace-up part near the ankle, although I think I'd need the higher-cut one for more ankle support. Since more platform is known to provide cushion especially for city dwellers, I'm surprised to find a lack of athletic shoes with supporting platform. FYI I bought these on Zappos.
