I wear a pair of Johnston Murphys about 6 days a week. My foot size is a 13 wide and the Upton Wingtip are wider than I expected. Every step is very cushioned. The look is a little dressier than I was looking for but still happy with my purchase.

The upton wingtip is comfortable. However, within one year the stitching failed. Had it been more than a year JM would not have replaced the shoes. While I appreciate that my shoes were replaced, it took about six weeks for the replacements to be shipped. THEN, the shipment didn't actually ship. A second shipment was initiated. When it arrived the shoes were the wrong width. So, shoe failure, shipment failure, width failure. There were more ways to make mistakes. Glad we didn't experience all of them.

These shoes are super comfortable, light, and supportive. I love the way they look and the way they wear. I get compliments on them frequently. The soles have two layers in a couple of spots, and the lower layer has separated on both pairs I have. BUT - J & M replaced both of them for me immediately!! Thank you J & M!!

Its typically very hard for me to find shoes that fit and feel good. If I do and they dont look good. This show however is excellent. It is very comfortable but looks really elegant. I love it.

I have not liked the formal shoe transition to dress tennis shoe, look. These Upton Wingtips at least get me in the style without the white bottoms, so I thought to try them. Now, I love the comfort. They are as comfortable as the classic JM formal dress shoes with leather bottoms. I have had these 5 months now and put them in the rotation. Working at a hospital they get 10k steps when I wear them and Ive had no issue and they are as comfortable at 1700 as they were at 0500! I am only concerned after reading the bad reviews on here. For fear, I hope not to have a seam come loose. I know we no longer have in house JM return for repairs like the old JM and the reviews got me thinking repairing these may be impossible? Are these shoes more disposable? Never-the-less; Ill enjoy the comfort and install heel wear guards until then! So far I love these.

Fit and size was true to size. Inside is leather and fabric. I prefer all leather and a bit more memory foam inside.

I have the exact same issue with the exact same shoe. I am a huge J & M fan with all of my shoes in my closet from there. I have a stitch that has come apart in the same area on the inside front. I haven't had these shoes for less than 8 months and I am needing to replace them. This has not happened to any other shoe I owned or have owned from J & M. Just disappointed!! I really like this particular shoe and was about to replace it but read the other review with the exact same issue.

I've been using Johnston & Murphy shoes for 23 years. Have many pairs. This one (Upton wingtip, $155) has resulted worse than, I imagine, 30 dollar cheap shoes. Less than a year of fairly occasional use, and right before a meeting I noticed a 1.5 inch opening on the front where it was sewn. The seam had come unstitched and you could see a white padding material underneath. I had to paint it with black marker to go, very embarrassed, to my meeting. It is clear that the double stitching was not done well, since the leather that goes beneath the other piece was very short and the second stitching had not grabbed it. When you spend more than 170 dollars including tax, you expect to get a product that lasts longer than the 10 or 15 times I used it. My first pairs were made in Italy, I still wear them after 20 years; then they began to be Made in India; this one is already made in China. I have nothing against; there are many perfectly manufactured Chinese products. But Johnston and Murphy has not done quality control, or possibly has outsourced to subpar manufacturers. Now it is past their 90 days return deadline, and I feel I threw away my money.

I'm on my feet at work all day and constantly walking around. I bought these shoes in late November and started wearing them in December, here I am January 29 complaining about them. Fits fine(10. 5 w), nice to work in, looks great. Why are the seams already going bad along the left wing tip stitching. Actually keeping them clean in upstate NY. Laces are good.
