My son loves these shoes because he is able to zip them all by himself. He is 9 and has a small arm which he uses as a helper but he has not yet learned to tie his shoes.
He also has a lift inside his shoe so the high top keeps him from stepping out. And of course red is his favorite color!!!

These shoes are fantastic - absolutely love the zipper that goes all the way down to the toe! So easy to put on and off. My son has a wide foot and needs more support and these support the ankle well. Love these!

So happy we found these shoes. My son wears AFO's and it is hard to find shoes that easily get over AFO's. These allow my son (13) to put his shoes on over his AFO's with no help from others. It is extra bonus that they come in his favorite color.

My son wears AFO's and is non ambulatory. His left foot has a lift on the AFO and his feet/AFO's are wide. I ordered a full size bigger than what he currently was wearing and got it in ex. wide and deep. They work perfect. I will need to get longer shoestrings because I did have to loosen them quite a bit. I love how they look and he is very happy with them. I will buy Billy Footwear again.
I'd also recommend:
Vans , they are the only other brand I have found that work with AFO's

Got these as a replacement for the sport inclusion shoes as they're zippers fell apart. The high tops are much better. They fit my son's AFO better, the zippers work better and offers more support.

These are so bright and pretty! We got the medium width for my daughter's foot without the brace and the wide width for the for with the brace. I love that we can buy two different sizes too. I hope more colors become available in wide width because it worked great with her brace!

This width (extra wide) is amazing! they are perfect over his bulky AFO's. We do wish there was a larger selection though. The zipper is coming apart at the toe though. Strangly it is not is a stressed area.

They are pink, my favorite color. I love that they zip over my orthotics easily. The design for his girly girl was just perfect! I highly recommend for anyone struggling to find shoes to fit over their orthotics!

I am pleased that the D/R design has a thicker heel. We were having to buy replacement Billy's often because the heel would get big holes in them from my daughters AFO's. I hope these will withstand longer, so far so good.
