Customer Reviews LOCK LACES Lock Laces® Boot No-Tie Shoelaces

I live in the mountains of Colorado and last winter broke a lace on my Baffin snow boots. I have struggled since to find a suitable replacement. The Lock Laces were my fourth attempt and finally I have a good replacement; not as good as the original but still very good. The boots have 6 pair of fairly small eyes and these are the first laces which fit and actually glide nicely through them. I do wish the Lock Laces were not quite so stretchy as the stretch makes them more difficult to properly tighten, but once laced they do the job well.

Although I wish the design was different so that I didn't have to cut off any slack in case I needed to transfer it to taller boots, and that it was a bit easier to apply the clamp, I essentially like this product. It allows me greater control over the tension of my laces, while also providing flex to them because they're elastic. This means that I'm far less likely to over-tighten my shoes and cause poor circulation, which leads to substantial discomfort followed by pain. I don't think these laces would be easy to tie because of the tubular rubber, so I'm glad it's a simple matter of using the lock to loosen and tighten. I would certainly recommend this but, if you have poor finger strength, you'll need help applying the clamp ending.

I have been wearing Lock Laces for many years. I am happy that I am now able to order them on Zappos when I purchase my new sneakers. I love not having to worry about my shoes coming untied while walking, biking, and chasing my kids around. My son also loves using Lock Laces since he is unable to tie his shoes due to a disability. Lock Laces allow him to have accessibility to be independent when putting on his shoes.

Great laces

I love these things. Normally I just tie my shoes and leave them tied… but I got new boots that have different lace eyelets and I have to tie/untie them. With these, I just keep them slack to put my boots on and then pinch and pull to tighten the laces. Love it.

Super easy to use and set up

They do exactly what they are supposed to do. Pro tip: Do *not* cut the string too short.

I find these laces nicely designed except for the tightening disk. It slips out of my fingers too easily. The push-button top is CONVEX. Make it CONCAVE and it should be much better to use. I would say also that these laces are fine for outdoor boots and camping use; If you're going out on the town, these laces are pretty rustic looking and you can probably do better.

Cheap garbage produced to the lowest common denominator. Excellent manufacturer to trashcan product. No dignity, no pride, and no effort were wasted in making this. I'm assuming the people running the company are the same level of garbage.
