These were crazy small and I don't have a large foot. The seam across the top of the boot, where the tongue is sewn, is rough and dug into the top of my foot. Length is right, though. I have 3 other pair of Dr. Marten's and this is not the same.

These were adorable and I loved them but alas they were not for me. I tried a few different sizes but none of them worked. I'll have to find a different style of doc to replace my worn out ones.

Let's start by saying this Docs are fabulous. I couldn't imagine a better design. I was in s wedding and I wore these and they were great. That being said they are super uncomfortable where the tongue meets the shoe. But again they look great!

These shoes are so adorable! I would have loved to have kept them, but Dr. Martens really messed up when they made these...the stitching across the top of the foot is so tight that there's no way to wear them. I have a friend who bought the same boots second hand and has gotten bruises from this issue. Such a shame.

Very disappointed in the Victorian flower-print version of these. The material is so stiff and inflexible that it cut into my instep, and also created terrible blisters on my heels. I imagine the leather version of these is a better product, but the "woven canvas" is awful, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Not a good non-leather option.

These boots are super cute but sadly super stiff. The tongue is hard and doesn't stay in the middle. My ankles were very uncomfortable. Order 1/2 size down.

I've been waiting so long for these shoes I even had my back to school outfit prepared but, once I got them they were two sizes too big and they looked huge. Had to return them and I am a size 10US!

I got the black/silver ones when they had them, and I was disappointed. I had docs in high school that lasted years, but these only made it one year before the leather cracked. I think it may have been the shiny material, and I emailed the company and never heard back.

I ordered this style in the black nappa and had slight problems, but at the same time they were too big to ignore. The boots were great except the part where the tongue and boot meet. It dug into my feet and hurt too much to keep them. However it's not because of the width of the boot. I have wide-ish feet and the width was just right. It was just that darn seam! I just felt the boot wasn't as finished as it could've/should've been since I've owned other brands of similarly built boots and never have had a problem like that. For the price I feel a little more could've been done about that! Otherwise, they would've been fine. The leather is great. It's soft yet not weak, and feels already broken-in. If I decide to give Docs a try again, I'd for sure go back for a style in the black nappa. I still would really like a pair, growing up in the 90s and all, but I'll give my hunt a break for now. Perhaps the men's version of this style might fit better?

These boots look okay from a distance, but the leather is flimsy. They\'re like a representation of boots. I\'d never tried Dr. Martens before, but they were all around New York in the 1980\'s and looked to be of good quality then. They must have tried to cut back on manufacturing costs in more recent years. I plan to return these boots. This is no criticism of Zappos; they have the friendliest, most professional customer service division anywhere, and I plan to continue shopping with them.

Not a comfortable fit for wide calf. Leather may have loosened up after wear for a better fit, but I'm not willing to chance them never fitting well.

These are really cool and if you get a good pair are so comfortable, but I am a true 9.5 and the 9 was too small, the 10 too big (although depending on manufacturers I have shoes that are 8.5, 9, 9.5 and 10!!) I ended up deciding to keep the 10 because you can always put in an insole or wear a thick sock but after wearing the shoes out I discovered that the pair I received had a defect in the right shoe: where the tongue (under the laces) is sewn: the leather was left too long and was folding over itself when you insert your foot into the boots, causing a lot of painful pressure on the top of the foot. At first I thought it was just the stitching and I just needed to break these in but then I realized what was happening... so disappointing! I saw another review on Zappos that described the same issue so obviously this is not the first time and it is very disappointing that Doc cant get their quality under control. These went back.

I ordered these in my usual 9 and they fit perfect. The color cherry red is gorgeous. It’s shiny but not patent. I am returning these however. The leather feels cheap. Almost like a plastic. The tongue is thin and feels like it will wear out fast. The quality is just not there for the price. The toe box just putting on the shoe and bending it (not even walking) creased the leather. These will not wear like our old Doc’s. They are gorgeous but really feel cheap for the money.

I'm going to start off by saying that I love the style of these boots. The black patent leather is beautifully shimmery and edgy without being over the top. They're a mild statement piece that go as well with skirts as they do pants. HOWEVER these boots are TERRIBLE to break in. The first time I wore them, they left the back of my heels raw and bleeding. I wore them a few times after that with thick socks and bandaids and they weren't too bad. So, I decided to wear them on a day trip to upstate NY that involved lots of walking. That was a HUGE MISTAKE. I wore long thick socks that went well above the upper edge of the boot, but by the end of the day I had a bleeding cut on my inner calf. That was six months ago and I STILL HAVE A SCAR ON MY LEG FROM THESE BOOTS. PLEASE BE CAREFUL BREAKING THEM IN. THEY WILL HURT YOU AND YOUR FEELINGS. I even wrote a story about them for a creative writing class to answer the prompt "tell us about a time when you experienced great physical pain." That's how much they hurt me. Just a warning :)

I was extremely disappointed to receive these boots thinking they were leather but they were canvas. Every other boot in this line is leather and when I went back and looked I had to click additional items to find this pattern was canvas even though all other canvas boots were clearly marked in the header. They’re super cute but very tight across the arch and canvas is not very stretchy.

When I opened the Zappos box, the first thing I saw was a plain cardboard box that held the shoes with a note stating that the original box was damaged in transit- this felt a little off, but I figured it could happen. What really concerned me was that the stitching around the sole was not neat, and the material just didn’t feel right. I did a little research and found that all Dr. Martens should come with a spare pair of laces (definitely didn’t), and I should be able to compare the serial code with the inspection tag (again, nope). Sorry Zappos- but I’m not keeping a pair of shoes I can’t verify are actually made by the manufacturer.

I read about the break in period but I couldn't make it through. Had to return because they were so uncomfortable that my toes were numb within seconds of putting the boots on. I'm bummed to have had to return them cause I love the style of them.

These shoes are definitely NOT made for walking because of it’s hard leather. Great style but very heavy and stiff.

I really wanted to like this--it's not like the picture. The leather is--not leather?--shiny and feels like plastic. I love purple and this is ugly in person. This boot had almost no support except for the incredibly stiff plastic upper.

Loved the deep cherry gloss on these boots. However, the cut of the boot fit me oddly. The length and width of the footbed was fine, but the vamp and the shaft were really large. Tightening up the laces as much as possible just accentuated the loose bulk. I don’t have narrow feet or thin legs. I know several people who absolutely love their Dr. Martens, so this boot just isn’t for me personally. However, I notice from reviews that the fit of this brand doesn’t seem to be very consistent. Returned

In black patent, these boots were cute, but distractingly squeaky. The soles were squeaky on normal floors, and the leather squeaked as I moved. Returning.

I had a few pairs of Doc Martens in the 90s and sadly these are not the same. :( I wear a women's size 8 in regular shoes so the first pair of 1460 W boots I ordered were a size 6. They felt at least a size too big. I had a lot of room in the front of the shoe, and in the back, my heel was lifting up and out of the shoe and I was sure that would cause a blister. Other than the fit, the quality seemed great on this pair, which were made in Vietnam. I returned those and ordered one size smaller (size 7) and they were too snug. I think that was probably closer to the right size for me and I would just need them to break in, but they felt tight and uncomfortable. I can't believe there was such a discrepancy between sizes! But this second pair I received seemed to be made of a much thinner, cheaper leather. When I checked under the tongue I saw this pair was made in China. There is definitely a difference in quality with the pair I had received earlier. And I don't think either pair compares to the quality of the docs I had in the 90s, which I wore daily for years, even in rain and snow, and they lasted forever. I'm grateful for the great Zappos return policy but sad that Doc Marten's quality seems to have declined so much.
