Pros: Love the comfort, the style, the toebox room, the light weight! Con: Lacks durability. I am on my third or fourth pair because I love them however that is only been a few years. Probably about a pair per year and by the end they are cracked at the fluctuation points, not waterproof at all and the sole start coming off at the toe.

I've ran trail and road in a few pairs of Topos at this point. This was my first venture into a "hiking" boot. Here are the main highlights: 1) even with the WP liner, stayed true to size (which is a huge kudos to Topo across its shoes in general); 2) absolutely LOVE the hook-lock lacing system; 3) Great traction; 4) great laces that stay tied (funny how many laces don't). BUT, I'm wrestling with breathability at 60-70 degrees F. Might need to relegate these to Winter only.

Recently purchased Trailventure for my Mt. Whitney hike. I have several pairs of Topo's (Phantom, Ultraventure, & Terraventure). I typically wear a size 10, but went up to a 10.5 for the Trailventures to accommodate hiking socks. Love the lace locking feature. Never had to adjust the laces during the ~24 mile hike. The few times I got the boots wet, my feet stayed dry. One small blister occurred at ~18 mile mark on my big toe. Seemed to rub on an interior piece. Better insoles would be nice.

I'm previously a Altra Olympus 5 wearer, but developed severe plantar fasciitis due to zero drop, requiring surgery. I love the wide toe box and with inserts my heel stays locked in place. My only suggestion is to make a non-waterproof version as they don't breathe well, making my feet sweat and may lead to blisters.

its a nice boots comfortable ,roomy, but the only bad, is the only bad design is the last 2 hooks for the shoe lace sometimes comes out the shoelace and it trips you because it gets the opposite boots's hooks, and I can be fatal. on the video where the CEO explains the boots it shows the white one and it looks that has rings the last 2 instead of the hooks,I think is better design for the shoelace and more secure .Hopefully they change that for the next boot.

The mid foot and heal are great. the build quality is why im switching from Altra. BUT ON GOD, IF THE TOE BOX WAS BIGGER LIKE VIVO ID BUY 3 PAIRS RIGHT NOW!!! Please Topo team review reader, just tell me all future topos will have a wider toe boxs so I can just stick with this 1 brand for life. thank you PS are there any OSHA compliant steel/ composit toe boots coming? Construction is an untaped market in the zero drop foot shaped shoe world.

Love the feel of the shoe and the roomy toe box. My only complaints are there is only one color in the wide version and that the cushioning inside the heel seems to wear quickly. I am on my third pair of phantom 3s and both pairs wore a hole in the cushioning in the right heel. I haven't had this issue with either my Atmos or my Ultraventure 3s.

I bought a pair for backpacking and loved them do much I bought a pair for work. I'm a carpenter and work on hard floors all day. I wish they had a little softer insoles because there's not quite enough cushion for me. Great if you're walking but not so great for standing in place working

These shoes are great just feel a little less stable than the Phantom 2. Maybe more narrow? That said I'm lining up my December -January buy when they tick over 500 miles

I switched to Topo's about a year ago. I have a wide foot so the roomy toe box is great. Although the toe box is roomy, the heel still locks down well. I use the Phantom 3 for easy miles. It has a good cushion but I still have some toad feel. I'm on my second pair. The first went almost 400 miles. It would be a 5 star review except the color way on wide is very bland. #sweepstakes

Tried these for 3 weeks, did hill sprints, walking and running 3-5 miles once a week. Pros: toe box is perfect size, fits feet well Cons; too much cushion in the sole, but that is more preference

Very comfortable wide toe box running shoes. Have had these for a few weeks and my only issue is cosmetic wear, though I don't mind that if they hold up overall for the longer term. These are comfortably standard running shoes with a more natural foot form that seem to work well for me. #sweepstakes.

Still evaluating the support and comfort in the arches of my feel. At this time a little pressure one arch of right foot, going to give a little more wear time to see if these shoes are right for me.

I love the size of the toe box of these shoes, it is nice not to have my little toes hurt after a 10 mile run. I did have to check out a few sizes to get the right fit. I usually wear a women's 11 in running shoes but ended up purchasing a men's 10. Super happy with them. #sweepstakes

These are great, the toebox is so roomy and the heel is perfectly snug. The only thing is the slight inconsistency between different models. I have the ultraventure in size 9.5 and assumed it'd be the same in these boots but it's actually too big. I'll be using these as my winter boots with double socks, but cannot use them as regular boots in cool weather. I liked these enough that I'll be buying them in size 9, though! They're actually waterproof. I stepped in a deep puddle that went up to just under the top of the boots and my feet were dry and warm (it was in the low 20s at the time!).

The anatomical foot shape is the BEST of all brands I've worn. Zip foam is a little firm and doesn't have a ton of bounce. The shoe also doesn't transition particularly well, it feels "flat". But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the last shape - it is actually shaped like the human foot!

I love the fit of these hiking boots. I have one concern: after six months the soles came unglued. The store I purchased them at were unwilling to warranty them or even help with a discount toward a new pair. I have bought another pair and hope the quality and craftsmanship is up to par.

The TrailVenture2 WP could be more comfortable like the phantoms, the phantoms are what got me into topos and why I got these. The size feels larger than the phantoms and the phantoms are definitely more comfortable than TrailVenture2 WP. You should try to make the TrailVenture2 WP feel like the phantoms or a WP Phantom.

Have a pair of Phantom 4 in wide that fit my feet well . Although these weren't available in wide width I ordered these anyway in the same size (hoping regular width would suffice). Unfortunately these were just too narrow for me. However, I did like their light weight, flexible but stiffer sole and torsion than many lightweight boots (which I prefer for rough mountain trails and steep grades), and fairly aggressive tread. Maybe they'll be available in wide someday?

First: I love Topos and they are the only running shoe I wear now. I run roads and trail and I was excited about this hiking boot for day hiking in rough terrain. While it has great potential - it needs another design round. This is an important addition to the line and I hope Topos takes feedback seriously on the upper fabric, liner and need for widths. The biggest issue as other reviewers noted is that the waterproof liner develops wrinkles and ends up taking space in the toe box. It's incredibly irritating - as if your socks are twisted. This created the second issue which is the height of the toe box. Especially for hiking - you need that extra space and while the design promisesit fails to deliver. The cushion is decent and the rock plate helps - but could be longer and stiffer to allow this boot to truly function as an aggressive hiking or trail running shoe. A good trail runner will have a stiffer sole . With that, it's overpriced and underperforms but has great potential. A good trail runner with gaiters would be a better solution and value. I agree with other reviewers that the uppers crack and wear faster than they should. I e used them a total of less than 100 miles and they already show signs of cracks. Basically - this is a running shoe with ankle support not a trail hiker and to compensate for the liner and toe box height issue if you can tolerate them - I recommend ordering a half size larger than you'd normally purchase in a running shoe. I wear a 9W in the Atmos (perfection), purchased a 9.5 in this boot, and should have gotten a size 10. Please also add wide widths to this line!
