The waist band is the non- elastic type but does have a stretch band. Pockets are deep but could be squared off at the bottom to better hold a wallet. Zipper is ok but could be a little more robust. Overall, I liked them- I bought 7 of them.

I was a bit hesitant about ordering shorts online without trying them on 1st, but they fit great & are very comfortable for walking in the summer heat recently. They wash up great too & the cellphone pocket is a bonus

These shorts are the only ones my husband will wear for work. Period. He will also only wear Dickies' Cargo pants in the winter. They hold up to daily wear and tear of a mechanic shop and the washing and drying that goes with it.

Bought these shorts on personal experience and our history together. Never had a bad garment from Dickie. These are the most comfortable and lightweight (feeling). The shorts are the same durable quality. The new fabric really keeps the sweat down. I'm a really big guy. I work outside in 90 degree weather daily. I sweat a lot. I can tell the difference in the crotch most noticably. Let me say that one characteristic is the one that sold me another 2 pair. I took a chance and was shocked at the difference this cool material has made.
