Having a narrow foot has caused lots of uncomfortable days especially on the golf course. These shoes fit very well and the padding is perfect. Best golf shoes to date.

3 rounds in, and I'm very happy. They are WAY more comfortable than my previous golf shoes (Ecco). A lot of cushioning and bounce, just like my favorite NB running shoe, the 840. Really like the gray color and will probably look better over time than the white...though, I think maybe I'll get the white too. As others have suggested, these run a tad small. I'm an 11.5 in the 840s, and I'm a 12 in these. Seem very well made, especially for the price point.

Fit was perfect and the traction is just right. My second pair of NB golf shoes. Both are great!

The shoe is very comfortable and light great for walking! I don't have anything to say that is a dis like. Worth the money by far!

I've played in them once, walking nine holes. Traction is pretty good for spikeless shoes. I've moved away from cleats as they are hard to replace and sometimes uncomfortable. The sizing is not consistent across different models of new balance golf shoes, though. I have a two year old pair of New Balance golf shoes size 9.5 extra wide. They were a little too wide so I started with size 9.5 wide. Had to go up two different half sizes to get a good fit at 10.5 wide. Bought them online so I didn't have a chance to try them on before purchasing. New balance is very good at accepting returns and shipping a new pair promptly. With these Fresh Foam X Defenders, they are a somewhat stiff and I'm hoping they loosen up because I usually walk 18 holes when I play. A comfortable shoe is mandatory. That and the inconsistency in size are the reasons for not giving five stars.

Had to return as heel height too low for a correct fit for me. Have 2 pair of fresh foam links which fit great. Would like to see the striker v3 in a spike less version. Prefer leather for water proof ability and the free floating tongue which is the only drawback to the fresh foam links for me.

They fit well and felt very comfortable out of the box. That said, the upper material felt (and looked) very cheap and plasticy. I returned them, so I can't comment on how they performed

I was not aware this shoe did not have the attached tongue like the NBG4000WN and NBG4000WK. I bought the fresh foam defender to replace the 4000WK because black stains keep showing up on the perforated portion at the top. (i would like to return these but I am having trouble finding the order) I purchased the 4000WK to replace another golf shoe that was staining my feet and socks blue. I did return those along with the stained socks. I so far the NBG 5000WGY fits well and time will tell if the tongue moves under the laces or weird stains begin to appear. Attached pictures are from the 4000WK. The stains come from inside the shoes.

I really like the Striker V2 Golf shoes by New balance, and I thought that going for the more expensive Fresh Foam X Defender would give me a better quality shoe. While the quality appeared to be better, the fit was not right. I am a 9.5 in the Striker V2, but with these, my toe was up against the front, it felt more narrow, and it felt shorter, where the top of my foot felt too tight. So, it was too tight in length, width, and height, as compared to the Striker V2.

Ordered Wide but when I got them they were way too tight. Needed 2E. Not available. Had to return.

The shoe is unwearable because it does not "give". It hurts the side of my foot so badly that I cannot wear them. I have never had this problem with a shoe before. I don't have the box and don't know how to return them so I will try to sell them I'll give them away. Very disappointing.
