Pros: quality mid-weight denim with nice stretch, beautiful color, perfect pockets (you can fit your whole hand in and there is even a special place for your thumbs!), and perfect length (6" inseam). Cons: There is only about a 6" difference between waist and hip measurements, making these almost a straight cut. The waist measures 35" (!!) for size 10, and hips measure 41" (their size chart lists 29/30" waist for size 10 and 39/40" for hips) The straight cut leaves a huge gap at the back waist for me, since I need a curvy fit. A 4" zipper makes these on the lower end of mid-rise while I prefer a higher rise (to prevent muffin top). I also prefer a higher back-rise for full coverage of my fuller behind; I'd love to see Carve Designs offer something for us women with hips/butts larger than our waists. Front rise measures 10", back rise 13.5", on size 10. For reference: I'm 5'4", 138 lbs, waist 30", hips 40". I'm giving three stars for the pockets, fabric, and length and minus two stars for the fit (since these might be just perfect on a different body).

These fit perfectly! Love the hemline and how "clean" they look. The rise is sufficient and the hemline looks casual but not too undone. The price is up there but they will last forever and these are "put them on and you know they look good" kind of shorts. True to size too.

These fit perfectly and I love that they are not skin tight on the legs but tapered to still have a nice clean look to them. Especially love the hemline and the rise is perfect! The color is just right for summer! The price might be a bit out there but they will last forever and it is one of those put it on and don't think twice about how good they look! I believe they are true to size.

This was my 3rd purchase of the Maui shorts. The length and fit are perfect for me.

Sizing in these shorts is all over the place. I have 6, 8, 10 and 12 that fit similarly. Just recieved the same short in jeans and it was too small in the maui shorts.

Maui 6" shorts are the perfect style for summer. Now that I have determined the correct size(4) I'll be ordering more of this style.

Love your shorts. I think they are true to size. This time I ordered a size larger than I usually order from you because I have put on some weight, size 6 however they are not as good a fit as my size 4 and am exchanging them for the smaller size.

Love the MAUI shorts. I have them in all the washes!! Comfortable and cute! A summer/ spring/fall MUST.

Love the length as I am 60 years old . I say they run a bit small but the leg openings are huge!

The waist band is way too big.

The fit and feel of these shorts is incredible definitely a pair I will be living in. Wishing you had more colors available in my size.

Color not as expected. Much lighter and not nearly as blue, but I still like them. Fit is a little bit tight but Im assuming like all jeans they will stretch out during wear, so Im keeping them. Length is nice. The denim is very soft. I would still recommend them but if you want a perfect fit right out of the gate and youre not a skinny mini, maybe size up for comfort.

Fit was very snug. Usually a size 8 is comfortable for me but these shorts were more of a junior fit than a woman's fit.

These fit me weird. I'm currently between a size 10-12 in pants. I ordered these in a 10 after reading the reviews. The top of the waist band is tighter than I anticipated based on the reviews, yet the material right underneath is loose and stretchy, which gave them an odd fit. I do have a larger waist, so someone who's better proportioned than me might really like them. I had high hopes, but they just are not flattering on me at all. Oh well, I tried.

Shorts fit well and material was a thick denim. The length was good but the front was low cut and started at my hip bones so I sent these back.
