After a few runs in these socks, I'm not impressed. They're thin and the material is slippery causing your foot to slide around in your shoe. They are definitely not my go to running socks.

These socks were too small for me. I ordered a medium thinking they would fit 6.5-8.5 women's size. They seemed to have very little stretch to them. I am unsure whether a size larger would be comfortable on my foot. Will check out another brand of socks. Love Zappos and have been shopping via Zappos for over 20 years now.

I've bought a lot of items in the Smartwool PhD sock product line over the past 5-8 years. I used to buy size small in the PhD ski socks and size medium in the PhD running socks. I once bought size small in the PhD running socks and that pair hurts my toes and gives me blisters, whereas the many pairs of medium PhD socks I own are a dream to wear! Anyway, the product name changed online from PhD running sock to targeted cushion but the sock appeared to be the same as what I've bought numerous times before, so I ordered 5 pairs, feeling confident that I knew what I was getting. Unfortunately they must have altered the fit / sizing when they switched from the PhD running sock to the targeted cushion running sock because the new mediums I recently bought don't fit like my older mediums. The new ones fit acceptably well, but since Smartwool socks are fairly expensive and since I love my older Smartwool socks, I was expecting to love my new socks, which I don't. And that's a bummer.

I generally like my smart wool socks. These though are quite thin and don't come up quite high enough on the ankle to protect my skin from the shoe. Maybe other shoes are lower and do not need padding higher above the foot.

These just don't work for me. Although comfortable without shoes, I find them bulky wearing with shoes. Prefer the no cushion version.

Overall, I think the sock is great, but the fit just seems off. I typically wear size mediums in my socks. These being a medium felt a little too big, more so in the toes which caused it to bunch up. Even after going through the washer and dryer they still fit big. #SmartWoolLove

they feel loose. i have the smartwool socks in the same size that are also the run kind but without any cushion, and they fit a lot better. these ones bunch up in my socks and are uncomfortable. they do wick away sweat tho

This was my first time trying the low ankle style. Unfortunately debris (leaves, dirt) gets trapped in between the padded Achilles tabs and my skin. Don't buy
