Honestly they just don't seem as well built as they used to be. I've been wearing Smartwool socks for over 5 years. I still have the first pairs I bought and love them. These don't see to have the same quality material and construction

I've bought a lot of items in the Smartwool PhD sock product line over the past 5-8 years. I used to buy size small in the PhD ski socks and size medium in the PhD running socks. I once bought size small in the PhD running socks and that pair hurts my toes and gives me blisters, whereas the many pairs of medium PhD socks I own are a dream to wear! Anyway, the product name changed online from PhD running sock to targeted cushion but the sock appeared to be the same as what I've bought numerous times before, so I ordered 5 pairs, feeling confident that I knew what I was getting. Unfortunately they must have altered the fit / sizing when they switched from the PhD running sock to the targeted cushion running sock because the new mediums I recently bought don't fit like my older mediums. The new ones fit acceptably well, but since Smartwool socks are fairly expensive and since I love my older Smartwool socks, I was expecting to love my new socks, which I don't. And that's a bummer.

not half as good as the hiking socks. these are too thin, little padding and slip off my feet

The socks are fine but I've tried every major brand of sock's lately, in search of the most comfortable pair and these did not stand out in any way.

These are perfectly fine for everyday use. They don't stand out to me as being better or more comfortable than any of the other brands of socks that I've worn lately.

I've been buying Smartwool for years, this recent order had one pair of socks unravel at the seam just above the toe. Surprised and disappointed.

love the socks but the inconsistency in the size drives me crazy! two pairs are perfect while my other two pairs ride above the ankle bone

Sizing is off, I purchased a medium based on the size guide, I wear 7.5 in shoes. The heel was hanging off each sock, I'm still waiting on a refund on my return.

I got these as something of an experiment to learn what my preference would be in targeted cushion socks. I've learned it isn't these. While the socks fit well, the cushioning built in to them feels like my foot is wandering inside my shoe. For someone who is actually running (I'm a walker) or with a different shoe, they may be exactly what they're looking for.

I ordered 4 pairs of this sock and can't believe the variation in fit, thickness and feel. I've been a Smartwool wearer for nearly 25 years and have been noticing definite quality declines in the past few years. I don't know if the different colors of socks are manufactured in different factories or what the deal is, but it is like the three bears, one fits just right while the others leave a lot to be desired. Also the unisex sizing is questionable

I use these everyday for work and hiking. They are light weight and breathable making them ideal for summer heat. I would argue though that the indestructible wool is not as described. In the description it mentions no tear construction technology and a hole has formed in the heal portion of the right sock. Other than that, these are the best socks I have ever owned.

The socks are much thinner than I expected. I have been buying and wearing smartwool women's MD's for years. They are no longer available. If you are looking for an MD substitute, don't choose these.

These are the worst walking shoes I've ever purchased. The fit is uncomfortable, paradoxically feeling confining even with the "natural" toe box. They are unbelievably stiff, impairing my walking stride, which I'm sure would have led to leg injuries if I'd actually worn them more than a couple of times. I've been wearing Nikes since 1985 and, for some reason, decided to try something new. I'll be going back to my Nike Frees.

Socks were great until they weren't. Last right at 2 years then got massive holes and wear through spots. File your warranty claims!

I ordered the size recommended by my shoe size. They were so small that I couldn't ever keep them on because they were so uncomfortable! NEVER AGAIN!!

Thought I was getting 3 pair for that price rather than 1 pair. Feel like I got the shaft real good on this order.

Too small for the size indicated and they shrank after washing and drying according to instructions. I am not a happy camper! These do not meet the usual Smartwool standards. It is a hassle to return what was selected online, which takes time and care. Very disappointing.
