First time shopping LL Bean, bought flannel shirt and after washed (according to directions) was disappointed to see the flannel fabric already pilling. For the price, would have expected a better quality fabric. Would not purchase any flannel shirt again due to this quality of flannel.

Like the feel and the colors. Little smaller than expected.

I watched LLB's video and yes the plaids match up and the buttons are nice. but that's it. I compared the materiial with LLB's flannel PJs (bought last year) and the PJs are a much nicer, heavier material which I expected in the shirt. I don't understand the 5 star reviews for such flimsy material....

I have bought Bean flannel shirts for years. The the ones I bought last month are much thinner than previously. Very disappointing.

I have many bean relaxed fit shirts, but this one is cut differently somehow. It gaps right under the bust when I move, despite seeming to be the expected fit when I stand still. The placket also requires ironing. Fabric and color are both nice. I will be returning it.

I have many of these relaxed scotch plaid flannels and love them all. They are all size medium. This one is smaller than all the others. The fit is close, not relaxed. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after I washed it and removed the itchy tag. I will be passing it along to a slightly smaller person. The quality of LL Bean has gone down over the years yet the prices keep going up in leaps and bounds. Disappointed.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am in these shirts. I have a few Scotch plaid flannels from LL.Bean I got maybe five or six years ago that are twice as thick. Yes, this iteration is soft, but it's about as protective as a thin cotton dress shirt. The only substance is in the collar and cuffs. If I lived in the south, this would be fine, but there's nothing useful about a skimpy plaid shirt up north. Also, the antique dress stewart is not vibrant like the picture, it's all washed out and weird. I've been eyeing a few of these colors for years and used a few gift certificates to buy them, and I feel like I wasted a gift. There should be some sort of realistic weighting on these shirts so you know which ones are insubstantial.

I purchased a petite small and a petite medium. I normally wear a small. Both were too fitted and too short. Returned will try a size up as I like the plaid a lot.

I have had this shirt for less than 2 months and the fabric is already beginning to show wearI certainly expected more from a Beam's product

This shirt fit everywhere except the sleeves, which were much too long. I don't want to risk shrinkage, not knowing where it will end up. I also found the size chart inaccurate. I think in particular their sleeve length which is really from the neck is way too long.

This shirt is very boxy. I thought it had a more rounded hem. I washed it and it shrunk quite a bit

I have a number of Scotch plaid flannel shirts, and I love the relaxed styling. There was usually a bit of shrinkage when first washed, but nothing that affected the comfortable fit. I was excited to get the pretty blue plaid, as it was really different from all the rest that I have. However, when I washed and dried it according to the instructions, it shrunk so much that it's probably a size smaller now. I'm going to try rewashing and stretching it before hanging it to dry. Hopefully that helps, but I don't have a good feeling about it. If you order this, consider sizing up.

This is a nice looking shirt, however the material pilled up after washing it a few times. I'm disappointed in the quality of the material and it's definitely not what I'd expect of LL Bean.

I have bought this shirt in red multiple times over the years for my mother. I gave a first wash and my washer and dryer were covered, actually coated, with red lint. Washed a second time and same thing. Now trying to use a lint roller and it is coming off covered. This is absolutely unacceptable. In addition, though I bought relaxed fit this latest shirt if quite stiff.

Loved the color and fit, but the material is extremely poor quality. It pilled after the first wash. It's brand new but looks like it is 10 yrs old. I could understand if it just pilled in areas that get friction, like under the arms, but the entire shirt has pills. The extreme pilling makes it look like a bought it at a yard sale

Love the fit and color, unfortunately, after 3 washes it looks 10 years old! Lots of pilling.
Very disappointed but will wear it around the house.

I've wanted a flannel shirt for years and finally decided to invest in a quality, thick shirt for the occasional times I'd wear one. I only wore this twice and washed once per instructions. It already shows signs of pilling so I'm returning. It looks too sloppy to wear out of the house. I checked reviews and see I'm not the only one with this problem. It's even so thin that you can see light through it if you hold it up to a lamp. Not the quality I expected for $50. But I do love that it was available in tall.

I have a couple of these shirts from last year, but this particular shirt in Rob Roy pattern, was very disappointing. The fabric did not even come close to the quality of my others. The width across my back was much smaller. The fabric was more like felt than flannel. Llbean I sed to set the market standard for flannel, but this was a fail.

I purchased 2 of these shirts. One was cream & tan; the other was a colored plaid. Washed both shirts the same and put in drier as directed. The cream one shrank an inch and is pilling pretty badly. Puzzled as to why the shirts behaved differently when washed.

Considering the price, I expected the shirt to come out of the dryer ready to wear. The colors did not hold up as they should. The feel of the material should last past the first wash.

I don't know where the fabric came from, but after 1 wash on both the purchases I made and loved the shirts, they are a pilly mess. I wouldn't wear them out again. And wrinkled, but you're not supposed to iron? Am SO disappointed. Yes. I used cold water. As it stated. The shirts went from very attractive to cheap looking in less than 2 washes.

Flimsier than the LLBean flannels I have purchased in the past. Also tends to pill, which my other BEan flannels have never done.

I've bought and owned many, many flannel shirts over the years. Have some that are 10+ years that look better than this from Bean. The fabric was nice and soft before washing but after a few washes, it's slightly stiff and definitely pilled too much. I always dry on low heat and wash in cold water to avoid shrinkage. The placket with the button holes always dries all wrinkly like this and the instructions say Do Not Iron-what?? It looks so sloppy. Also, 6 buttons is just not right. I'm going to return it because I just don't want to wear it. I thought the flannel would be much better quality than what it is.
