My 8 year old fleece is finally starting to wear out so I purchased this as a replacement. It's warm and comfortable. Really nice fleece. It does shrink up in the dryer so beware if you on in between sizes. Would be more comfortable if I had sized up.

I love LL Bean relaxed fit flannel shirts. I have several. I've noticed an inconsistency in the sizing though, sometimes depending on the pattern. A new thing is the arms have gotten tighter. LLBean, please realize that some women have muscles, not twig arms.

I've been wearing shirts from L.L. Bean for 30 years. I've wanted one that is simply browns and white since I wore my old one out years ago. This is the first one I've found. The one I ordered is a medium (10-12) and is a bit smaller than ones I've had in the past. It fits but the sleeves barely reach my wrists. This one felt thin when I opened the box but after washing is a lovely soft shirt. It's not a heavy flannel and will be great for these autumn days.

Very nice shirt, light weight for fall and to wear over a t-shirt. Only problem is the sleeves are always too long by an inch or two.

I always love to have a flannel shirt in my closet and have been buying these for many years. The shirt lasts but I look for a different plaid every few years. I do think the flannel has become thinner over the years. Be forewarned the shirts do shrink when washed and dried. Since I'm not one for ironing, I do put them in the dryer. With that in mind I now buy two sizes up. Still think these shirts are the best on the market.

Loved the look of this shirt in the catalog and thought the colors would work well for me for Fall. It fit well, hung right and is well made. I am returning it as the colors, although I like them, don't look good on me. I have other LL Bean flannel shirts and they never wear out! I would buy again just a different color.

I do like this color, and even though the body of the shirt is longer than in the past I like the length. The sleeves come down to my finger tips and sleeves are wider which I can live with as I roll them up. However, I wanted the same weight fabric for warmth, and what I received was much thinner (not see through). I was disappointed after comparing the new shirt to my 3 thicker flannels from years ago. Yesterday I wore the new shirt in low 60 degree weather and was comfortable. I decided to keep it, well, for now, not sure how this will wash, dry, will it pill? The label says 'all cotton' but it's not the same. If this one works out well that would be great, having my first lighter weight flannel! BTW, the size is women's 2X.

I typically purchase petite sizes, and my first Scotch plaid that I bought from LL Bean was a medium petite. It shrunk, and while it still fits, more or less, the sleeves and hem feel a bit short. I have chosen medium regular for my second and subsequent purchases of this shirt, and they fit quite well after washing in cold water and machine drying. I've had the same results with T-shirts. Beyond the fit/shrinkage issue, the fabric is a nice weight, comfortable, and keeps me warm when it's cold. The plaid choices are nice, as well.

Love the plaid but I should have purchased the men's version. The shirt is too tight for me.

The shirt ran a little large for me. Otherwise I really liked especially the colors and the feel of the material.

Perfect weight. Not so thick and heavy like some of these flannels. This is a spring weight. Problem: I washed the first one and it pills. Looks like I washed it 12 times. Hmmm. Dunno what it will continue to look like. But, again, the weight of the flannel is perfect. I love the colors! Bought 3 different ones.

I own several of these Scotch Plaid flannel shirts and enjoy their warmth throughout the fall and winter months. I especially like the relaxed fit. In recent years the flannel is not as soft; same goes for the nightgowns. I purchased this shirt in Freeport Cream plaid most recently for its attractive colors. However, the fit was off - a bit snug around the torso unlike the others I own in various plaids.

Great shirt - soft, comfortable, warm. 4 stars only because I am hoping llbean will offer organic cotton options in the future.

Beautiful color and nice fabric quality, but shrunk quite a bit after first wash. I can still wear it, but I prefer my flannels roomy (which is why I ordered the 3x size). If you order these shirts, I suggest line drying them. The flannel was also heavier than expected.

I've been looking for a long time for a mid-weight flannel shirt, and this one does meet that criterion. The fabric is nice. I bought this in petite XL, which seems to be my correct size, and the overall fit is good. I chose the vintage tartan. There is something about it that I don't care for much, though, and I think I've found what it is. When I put my arms down, and look at myself in a sideview in the mirror, I see a fair amount of fabric sticking out behind my armpits. I held up the old flannel shirt that I'm trying to replace, from a different maker, to this one, and the armholes are about 1.5 inches deeper, double thickness, to this one. So that means that the armhole circumference on this shirt is about 3 inches greater than on the shirt I'm trying to replace. I think it's a feature of the Relaxed Fit. All that extra fabric has to go somewhere when you put your arms down. With a fabric like this with a lot of body, it pokes out, and it bothers me. So I think that the relaxed fit of this particular shirt is just not for me. L.L. Bean has a couple of shirts in flannel or chamois cloth that are slightly fitted, so I think I will try one of those instead.

This is a great shirt. My only complaint is that it comes out a bit wrinkled from the dryer.

The shirt is warm and soft. I was surprised that the sleeves were tighter than I expected. I bought these shirts to use as overshirts, as an alternative to sweaters for cooler days in the office.

I liked the shirt, however it was a little tight across the shoulders because the sleeves were not large enough around for my upper arms. Correct size otherwise.

Love the shirt but had to do an exchange. Ordered my usual size but had to return for next size up. It is a great shirt. If you order, get one size larger than you normally wear.

I have several of these shirts so it goes without saying that I like them, a lot. What keeps me from giving them five stars is the remodel I have to do on them, i.e., removing the scratchy tag in the back of the collar and sewing it on to them side seam tags. I wear all my shirts untucked and don't like the sloppy look of shirttail hems so at least the front of the shirts gets straightened. Yes, I literally cut up each of my shirts before wearing. Great shirts, fit well, comfortable, cozy and wash well.
