Love these shirts! Got two of them for my wife's birthday and she really loves them. She wanted me to write this review to let other people know how great these shirts are. Very soft, comfortable and warm fabric. They are true to size. Thank you L.L.Bean!

My family has multiple items cut from every Portuguese made Scottish Plaid flannel Bean has offered over the last several years. All Bean Portuguese Scottish Plaid is NOT created equal. For us, we have found that Black Stewart and Stewart Victoria are problematic. Black Stewart turns stiff--irrespective of how much fabric softener you dump in the rinse cycle. Stewart Victoria wears out more quickly; it is one of the thinest of Bean's Scottish flannels. When I wash the items, I use cold water and Woolite for Dark Colors. I put Downy fabric softener in the rinse cycle. I never put Beans Scottish Plaid flannel shirts, pajamas, gowns or sheets in the dryer for more than a couple of minutes--and then only to shake out the wrinkles. Any 100 percent cotton flannel material will shrink if you leave it in the dryer for very long. The moment the flannel items start to steam a bit, I pull them out wet and hang them on plastic hangers or an indoor clothes line. From early spring to fall, I put flannel items on an outdoor line in a shady area. The wind removes what few wrinkles there are. We have also found we can extend the beauty of these shirts by wearing a color coordinated henley underneath, thus not having to wash them as much. For the Black Stewart shirts, we simply have them organically dry cleaned and request "no press." Bean has always taken back any item we ultimately find unsatisfactory--no postage due, Bean card or not. Each autumn we are excited to see what patterns Bean is offering for that particular year. Obviously, we love these Scottish flannels; they are both strikingly beautiful and historically accurate. Each centuries old Scottish clan had its own distinctive, intricate plaid. Well, all was accurate with the Bean Scottish Plaids until this season. LOL. Bean did insert a Bean of Freeport Hunting into the collection. The pattern was well thought out and in keeping with the beauty of the rest of the Scottish Plaid designs. Thanks Bean!

I actually got two of these shirts - the Napier plaid (very vivid deeper blues and white)and one in the Wallace plaid. Both shirts are beautiful and I've had many compliments on them.
These are relaxed fit, which fit me very well with or without a light shirt underneath. (The fitted are too snug around my bottom.)
The pocket is well placed and deep enough to place things in.
The sleeves are a great length.
They wash really well (I wash them in cold, permanent press cycle and then dry them in a cooler dryer for 30 minutes and hang them to completely finish drying. They look new each time I put them on.)
I have one of these shirts from 8 years ago in the Prince Charles Edward plaid that is still one of my favorite flannels. It is not as vibrant as it once was but still looks very good. I was concerned the quality wouldn't be as good in these new shirts but am Very pleased with them and expect them to last me for a long time to come.

I love this shirt! I haven't worn it yet, but it is so soft and much thicker than what some places are calling "flannel."

Very much like this shirt. Good fit, very comfortable, soft and just the right weight for warm but not hot. Great fall shirt. Also I have received many compliments.

A tasteful plaid as plaids can be pretty garish. This one, though, is prime time okay. And will keep me warm on winter days.

This is my second one of these shirts. I prefer this silhouette to the fitted or tunic length versions, as it is more classic. The flannel is a perfect weight, not "shirt-jac" weight, and not flimsy, either. I can dress it up for work over a skirt and shell as a top layer and stay cosy with office temperature fluctuations. The shirt is true to size. I am a medium in almost everything Bean (sometimes a jacket needs to be an L). My only complaint is that I need to touch up the hem with an iron so it does not roll, but this is always the case with flannel shirts.

I love this shirt and the fit! I got medium which I usually wear and it fits nicely over a turtleneck for cool weather. I love the slightly loose fit! It's so soft and made of cotton unlike the Whisper Lodge flannel shirt that is polyester. I liked it so much that I ordered another one. I hope it comes before I leave for my trip south.

I was fortunate to get 3 of these on sale recently: the flannel is heavenly soft, I wear these as tunics over jeans and LLB cords, and the colors and cut are perfect! Shirts are so well-made, colors don't fade after washing, and being part Scottish, I adore the tartan plaids! My husband has been wearing the Men's LLB flannel shirts for decades, and now I'm starting my own tradition. Highly recommend!

Loving this flannel shirt so far and can't wait to wear it once the weather gets cooler in the NE. It is very soft, has a nice drape, and is very flattering even though it is listed as relaxed. The Princess Mary pattern is beautifully vibrant as I thought it would be. I can't wait to wear it around the holidays and beyond. I got the small and for reference I'm 5 foot 3, 32 inch chest,120 lb. with an athletic build.

I purchased this top in XS and chose the Princess Mary pattern. I love the colors in this pattern, very flattering. This flannel is warm enough to keep out the cold on a Michigan winter day, but also nice enough to wear on a crisp Fall day as well. For size reference 5'7" and about 105 lbs. The shirt fits great except the sleeves are just a little shorter than I prefer, but I always run into that issue with shirts as my arms are long. Overall I really recommend this item, as usual LL Bean quality and customer service soar above the competition!

I have this shirt in both Wallace and Grey Stewart (Petite Small). Love, love, love! I wear them more as a sweater (untucked and open over a tshirt) than I do as a shirt. Either way, the fit is good.

This is my third L.L.Bean flannel shirt. Excellent quality medium heavy flannel. Comfortable out of the box and gets softer with each wash. Sizing is accurate. Colors stay true after many washings and I have had no shrinkage. Highly recommend.

Last year I bought one of these shirts. When it arrived I was so pleased by the weight and hand of the fabric, soft, plush and the colors! Bright and lovely. I bought three more and now buying two to add to the collection. Don't wash these, dry clean them to keep the material looking new. I have; it keeps them fresh as they came in the bag. Worth the expense.
Come on, Winter!
