If you are looking for a flannel that allows room for a T-shirt underneath without feeling restrictive, this is the one for you. Soft and comfy, with beautiful colors that hold up under repeated washing.

This flannel shirt fits very well. It washes great and does not fuzz. As usual, Bean has a great product that will last a lifetime. This shirt is excellent to layer on the cool crisp days of fall. It gets softer as you wash it. It was soft right out of the box! I wish there were more plaid colors like the men's shirts.

This is my first purchase of any L.L. Bean product ever and I'm happy. I was looking for a flannel and had bought some cheap ones that were thin and could only be used for light layering, the quality didn't allow the shirt to last long. I went for two of these shirts in a medium as was suggested by the sizing guide and the shirt fit perfectly with a lot of room, which is what I was looking for. I haven't taken off my blue/green flannel since I first washed it. It's so comfy.

Since I have put on a few pounds I like for my tops to be comfortable , not tight. This size is wide enough to be comfortable for me around my hips and still be comfortable. It is a soft flannel and warm.

I bought this hoping the sleeves would be long enough. They were OK..However, I just bought a flannel shirt in tall. I didn't need one but I bought it to show approval of the fact you were offering a tall size. I recommended it to my daughter who is 5'11". She is thrilled..I do hope tall sizes will be expanded to other items.

Beautiful fabric. Rich color. Ordered tall to wear with skinny jeans. Perfect length. Could you offer more selections in tall.?

Feels so soft to wear, straighter fit so doesn't pull across the midriff, warm. Complimentary to a curvy shortie. Really like this plaid and the colors used although the coloration wasn't what I expected from the photo.
I wear LE flannel shirts alone in the fall and spring and wear turtlenecks and mock neck tees with it early winter and later in the winter switch to sweaters with the flannel shirt. Comfortable any way I wear them.
I do really wish LE would have more flannel shirts in petite sizes. Regulars are too long on a 5'3" body.

Based on a previous review and photo, I was concerned that the colors on the website were not accurate - but they are! I love the Angus colors. I have not washed it yet but no pilling so far. The quality is good.

I own quite a few plaid flannel shirts, many by other makers, and this one is by far the best--perfect fit (petite XS), thick soft cotton, beautiful colors! The "relaxed fit" leaves plenty of room for a thermal Henley underneath without seeming oversized--a feat that is not easily accomplished when you're petite. Highly recommend.

I love these shirts, I think I have most all the colors! They are soft, cuddly, great for fall time! It seems the more you wash them the better they get! Color never fades, seem to last a very long time. It is my all around perfect shirt!

The fabric is thick and soft, the sleeves are actually long enough, and the shoulders fit my athletic frame. The assortment of colors were great, too. I write this review in hopes that LL Bean doesn't change a thing on this year's design.

Love the fit. My only wish would be heavier flannel. I am not sure we have that in the US anymore or in import areas.

This is a slightly updated flannel shirt. Fortunately it still fits like the classic button-down collar version. Aside from the spread collar (no longer a button down), there is one change I don't care for: the first button beneath the collar is no longer there. You will have a big opening if you do not button the neck button, and the two sides of the shirt beneath the collar will not lie correctly because the side with the lapel is naturally stiffer than the side with the buttons. It is not as neat looking as the previous version. Fine if you like your shirts unbuttoned for the top 5-6". For me, I may have to add a buttonhole and button in the same position (about 2" below collar) as the previous model, which was the classic for at least a decade. Not sure why it was changed.

These shirts are so wonderful and soft, I always wash before wearing. Fluffs them up even more! These last for years and years. I wish LL Bean would sell in some florals prints and non-plaids. More variety in this great flannel would be excellent! Pastels too, as winter is dark enough as it is.

Fits true to size! Even in the arms which are usually too tight in other brands.

My first flannel shirt from LL Bean, and I've already ordered another one. The weight is similar to a light wool, the colors are lucious, the only complaint is the sleeves were a little long, but turning the cuffs once made it fit perfectly, very typical for my shortish arms. It's good for wearing over a tee or by itself. Washed it and no appreciable shrinkage. Anticipate wearing it through the fall, winter, and early spring here. A winner!

In comparison to same shirt from prior years this seems to be a softer, better quality flannel. I always get Extra Large because I wear them with a turtleneck underneath and usually with skinny jeans and tall boots for a casual day on my job. I work field sales so in/out of vehicle and businesses all day. This combination is warm enough with only a down vest or down sweater without getting too warm. I got the Smith plaid and received several compliments immediately. Then eventually I keep these shirts as pj tops. Comfortable without bulk, warm enough without being too hot.

I ordered the Smith plaid for its colors that will layer well with most of my waffle knit henleys. The flannel is so soft and cozy! And the colors are deep and lovely. I have ordered another in the black and white plaid and look forward to being warm all winter.

Liked the colors and fabric; started wearing it immediately; it was too long in the arms and body; maybe it will shrink a bit.
