I have the same issue as Carol - the quilted panel has big holes in it now, exposing some black part underneath. I've had mine for a while now, but this problem developed maybe a year into having it. I was shocked that something from LL Bean had such a major quality flaw. I still love and wear this at home for chilly days - it's very cozy - but charging $90 is nuts if the product can't hold its appearance for more than a year.

I wish they would once again make this jacket with the hood!

The quilted sweatshirt is a beautiful color. Alas, it is too big. The quality of the material is not what I expected either. L.L.Bean used to have great quality clothing and items fit. Quality has gone downhill. Item is being returned along with two other items I ordered.

I liked the style of this sweatshirtcasual, but much nicer than my many "I'm going to do yard work" sweatshirts . When I received it, I didn't like that the brass zipper looked so tarnished and rather dingyI didn't think it went well with the classic style or the pretty pink color. But even worse for me was that the overall fit wasn't good. Although it fit well in most places, and I could have worn a Henley shirt underneath it, the sleeves were snug, even though I only had a short sleeved top on. It also seemed a bit too large and boxy through the hips area. So although I loved the idea, I'm returning it and will keep shopping for a different classic sweatshirt.

I bought this jacket in January and was very happy with the fit and style, so much so, I bought another one as a gift. But tonight I noticed there are already 2 holes forming and I haven't worn it that often. Very disappointing.

The sweatshirt is not attractive and the style is frumpy. The fit was baggy and I returned this item.

I have two of these and really loved them...at first. Like some of the one star reviewers, I have holes on the sleeves and on the front in the upper layer of the fabric on both sweatshirts. I would like to buy more, but please user a sturdier fabric.

This jacket is too delicate for everyday wear. The quilted fabric is too fragile. Holes started forming on the front of the jacket after a few wears. It was really disappointing as I expected much higher quality from an LL Bean product.

I absolutely love this sweatshirt. The style and the fit are great. Which is why I gave it two stars. I got this as a Christmas present and noticed after just a few wears and washes thay the elbows were showing significant signs of wear. I reached out to customer service and they helped me send it back and get it replaced, however the replacement looks the exact same if not worse after a similar amount of time. I wear this to work in an office, so not like it's out in the elements. But I'm really concerned that in a few more months, there will be large holes in the elbow area and I'm going to have to throw this away. Not the quality I expect from L.L. Bean and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

First of all I LOVE Bean's full zip quilted sweatshirt. I already had 2 that I wear weekly and the quality, fit, and comfort are top notch. However I am reviewing the black full zip sweatshirt that just arrived. I was expecting it to fit just like my other 2 as all 3 sweatshirts are Tall Small in size. But as you can see in pictures the black is 1 in shorter and almost 1 inch slimmer than my other 2 sweatshirts. I now want to know if this is normal for this color or if I got an imperfect one. I also would like it know if other colors have size differences too. L.L.Bean please let me know as this will help me determine if I should exchange for a different color or just return. I'm also bummed that I will have to pay shipping to return or exchange when I was counting on the sizing to be consistent. I am also bummed as I found this sweatshirt style last year and I loved it so much I was hoping to fill my closet with the full zip quilted sweatshirt in many colors.

I loved the idea of this sweatshirt so I bought three of them. I did read about the piling and after three washings, it has started on the knitted inserts. Very disappointing. And the zipper is not working smoothly. It is difficult to get started and has one or two "stopping" places that you really have to work through to get it fully zipped. I believe it is too close to the stitching to zip smoothly. For a sweatshirt at this price, I had hoped for perfection.

I have had 4 of these sweatshirts and the gray one got holes within a year and now the navy one has holes! For $94.00 this should wear better. Hoping to get this taken care of.

Product is beautiful but does not last. After less than a year, my sweatshirt developed holes by the zipper. There is also some pilling. I have washed it twice on gentle cycle, inside out in cold water, hang dry, and mainly wear it indoors. What's worse is that the store almost refused my return, saying it was "normal wear and tear." No quality item should develop holes in such a short period of normal use.

It's hard to find full zip sweatshirts on tall sizes, so I thought these would be perfect! I brought several. Unfortunately they have all started to develop very obvious wear and holes after only a couple months of normal use.

I searched the reviews to see if anyone else had small holes wearing in the the quilted front of the sweatshirt. I found that Casey Oct. 7 review had the same problem. I have worn the sweatshirt only inside. Just leaning lightly against the sink causes holes. If the material were 100% cotton instead of 20% polyester. If a 100% cotton version were made I would buy it since otherwise it is well made. I think I should get a replacement or refund. After wearing it for one season & not everyday small holes started in the outer layer. Beneath the thin quilting material it appears to be some kind of black backing. I had purchased the color "Larkspur" so the black backing showed. The style of the jacket is great. Sorry to say the clothing of LL Bean has gone way dow

I bought this Sept 2023 to wear around my house or drive in. Within a few months, a small hole started in the outer layer. A bit later, another hole. By the third hole, it's clear this fabric isn't up to the usual Bean standard. I took it back yesterday and was told I couldn't exchange it because it was 22 days past the one year date. Dang. I get the policy, but I'm really disappointed. While taking pics for this review, I found MORE flaws and stopped looking after five. Skip this item and try one of the sweaters instead. I've got some that are a decade old and still look terrific. And don't wait if you want to return something.

I have the half zip version that I've had for years and it's worn beautifully. When I got this it seemed a little thinner but the color was gorgeous and fit very nicely. But I haven't even washed it yet (just regular wear inside my house) and looked down to find a tiny hole right in front left chest area. And I cannot fix it because it's only the quilted layer (just a top layer of fabric that is very thin and fragile) which doesn't go all the way through. Very disappointed as I can only wear this around the house now that it has a hole in it.

I love this but the zipper catches on the inside fabric and only a few days after I bought it the zipper had ripped a hole on the inside. I'm really disappointed and I'm traveling out of country for 6 more months so I can't easily exchange it.

I'm a thin person, 96 lbs and not muscular, and yet the XS sleeves and armpits were too tight for my comfort. What happened to real sweatshirts with loose sleeves? Too bad, because the fabric and colors are very nice.

It looks nice and is comfy, but after only a year it started to develop holes. I just wore it to work and around town, nothing crazy or strenuous. I wasn't doing construction or gardening in it, and I certainly wasn't wearing it every day. I called LL Bean and they won't honor an exchange since it's a bit past one year, plus it was a gift. Disappointed that something that cost this much only lasts one year.
