As one reviewer commented, the button placement is a little odd in that if you don't have it buttoned all the way up, the second button falls in a way that makes the shirt/collar kind of ride up, and you have to keep pulling it down a bit to avoid the collar pulling up and back from your neck. However, it isn't enough of a nuisance to annoy me so much that I don't like the shirt. The quality of the flannel is great, and the prints and colors are just so classic! I love flannels, and am happy to have added three of these to my collection.

I have purchased several of these shirts over many years and keep going back for more. The relaxed fit is perfect and the fabric is wonderful. Sizing is normal. The workmanship is top notch with one major exception which is why I gave a rating of 4 stars. The plaid does not match at the side seams. The front of the shirt is perfectly matched. This is major since it is very noticeable. Having sewn many clothes in years past the first thing I learned is matching patterns or plaids. Its an easy thing to do especially the side seams. My suggestion, since I'm not the only reviewer to mention this, is someone in quality control correct the cut of the fabric. For the price of these shirts it should be expected the plaid match. Funny thing,in the new TV commercial showing the man with a vacuum cleaner wearing a plaid flannel shirt you can clearly see the side seams don't match. Maybe I'm the only one who noticed that but I thought I'd mention it :)

What happened to the button down collar. I have 4 of these and love them, however the button down collar is gone this year. Very disappointed, the shirts with the split collar just look sloppy and when wearing them in deep winter under a sweater and heavy coat the button down collar keeps it in place ,there is no twisted or scrunched uncomfortable collar under the heavy clothes. Please bring it back after all it is the classic LLBean flannel shirt.

I bought two of these shirts, one in the black watch color and one in the "Wallace" red. There is no princess seaming which one or two reviewers seemed confused about. This is a relaxed shirt and as such, I was able to order a size down. (I am 5'2" and a bit chubby in the middle.) A medium fit fine. The material is soft and substantial for a flannel. I want to be warm this winter (we do have snowy weather) and am trying to collect tops that are cozy and comfortable. Most blouses in stores are polyester, rayon, or light cotton. I can wear this shirt alone or with a tee underneath. Yesterday I wore a long sleeved tee and was very comfortable. The sleeves come to my wrists which doesn't always happen for me as I have long arms despite being a short person. The length of the shirt completely covers my rear and there was little or no shrinkage. (I washed the shirt 3 times so far.) It comes out of the dryer looking great. So far there is no pilling, but time will tell with that. I took off one star because, as others have said, the plaid doesn't match at the seams, but as I am wearing this shirt in very casual circumstances, I am okay with that. I'm just happy to be warm. The shirt looks great with jeans, skinny pants, and leggings.

The fabric is substantial, the plaid is attractive, but the plaids do not match at any seams...not the sides, not the back yoke. In the lighter weight plaid shirt the plaid is set on the diagonal on the yoke as a design feature. This isn't a cheap shirt, and I would have paid a bit more and kept it if a little more fabric was used to match the seams. I don't keep things I don't love, so it's going back. As with others, I miss the women's chamois shirts which are no longer available...I don't want a chamois tunic or lined jacket and I will not settle for a man's shirt which doesn't fit.

This shirt is so soft and snuggly! The material is great, as is the design. I so wanted it to fit but, unfortunately, it's gigantic on my 5'2" frame, even in a Petite XS. The arms are the perfect length, but there is way too much material in the upper arm area. Maybe if you have large muscles or an athletic build? I'd also say the shirt is wider (boxier) than I thought it would be. I know it's a relaxed fit, but it must've been too relaxed for me. Such a shame because I know if it did fit, it would be hard for me not to wear it every day. :)

I bought two of these last year and three of them this year..yes, I love my flannel. The fabric this year seems softer but I noticed the shirt is a big bigger around, longer arms, slightly shorter, and no button down on the collar. I have washed the new ones twice now and the fabric just keeps getting softer, as opposed to last years shirts which pilled. Hoping the new ones shrink just a bit as I continue to wash them.

I love this shirt, it is so soft and beautiful and I can see myself wearing this forever, but I am a size medium (size 8) and I went with other reviewers' recommendations to order a small, and it is VAST,I could fit two of me in this. I am not skinny at all but this is extreme vanity sizing. I should have ordered the slim fit but they didn't have the plaid I wanted. Returning for a better size. The small of the regular fit fits like a large I would say. The sizing chart is off too. I would actually write to customer service and ask for a measurement of the garment before ordering. Maybe it will shrink but I can't imagine it will shrink that much?

Bought a couple years ago so I'm a bit late in reviewing, but I was completely satisfied except that the neck didn't button up far enough. There was the collar button, which I never button, and the next one was several inches down, so leaving a chilly gap unless I wear something underneath, which defeats the purpose of cozy flannel. They used to have another button maybe 1.5-2 inches below the collar, which was just right. Trying to see from the images online if this fault has been rectified but it doesn't look like it has, hence the criticism, hope someone in design takes it to heart.

Am very happy with this lovely, black watch plaid. Material is soft,of medium weight. I use it over a turtleneck, instead of a sweater.. I am 5'6", and weigh 150 lbs., and the size medium fits me well. It washes well; the only reason that I didn't give it five stars, is that it requires a little touch up after washing to look it's best.

Love the quality of the shirt but there's a vast difference between slightly fitted (which other flannel shirts I ordered from here have been) & loose fit...almost need a size smaller for a nice fit.

My bad! I'm always wearing my fiance's plaid shirts to stay warm; so, I decided to purchase my own. I have the Scotch Plaid Relaxed Fit which is comfy but I was hoping to order the Flannel-lined shirt which was unavailable in my size. The relaxed fit works great alone or over another top. Once my size is available, I plan to reorder the flannel-lined shirt from L.L.Bean.

This a nice shirt. The one thing I did not like was that the seams did not match. For that reason I would not buy it again. The fabric was a good weight and soft. It fit well.

This shirt seems to run larger than other shirts from same line I bought last winter. The colors are vibrant and deep but the sleeves and the body of the shirt itself are way larger than the measurements on the chart indicate. Boo hoo. Looks like it may go back for a smaller size!

Had to re-order in a Large, Medium would be ok if wearing shirt open with a Tee or a Shell under this shirt. At this price the shirt should have a center pleat in the back IMHO. I have not washed this shirt only tried it on, hopefully you will find the size your order fitting perfectly.

Comfortable, great with a pair of jeans and a light turtle neck.

The shirt fits true to size, however, with that said, it is not fitted for a woman's figure, rather it hangs on your frame as if to conceal, not accent. So if you want one for a fashion statement, do not purchase this one. It is warm and the colors are vibrant.

Everything about this shirt was what I wanted except the sizing. The sleeves were very long. I gave it to my daughter who is taller than my 5'6", otherwise I would have returned it.

I bought this for myself and was pleased to see that it actually fit well and was not too thin. I will put this on my Christmas list and hope for another color.

the shirt did get softer after washing a few times! It also shrunk up shorter just a bit. Overall, I have stopped buying shirts from LLB as they tend to get way too short but this one was just long enough.

Pro's Soft, looks well made, nice plaid (stewart) Con's Runs large. I'm 5'5, 135, and the medium was too large, sleeve length was long, under arm was ..too much. Boxy; not much shape to it and the collar sat up a little high These probably had to do with the sizing; I have to return it and maybe order a small, although I would have to sew some darts in the back, at least. I'm going to keep looking for something that has a little more shape.

I love the look and the feel of my black watch plaid LL Bean flannel shirt. So - why the "almost"? WHY are the sleeves so long? Do women wearing an XL long sleeved shirt really have arms that long? I am reasonable tall, 5'6", and my arms are in proportion to my height - and weight. The sleeves of this shirt are just plain too long!

The plaids were vibrant and the size was just right. The fabric was lighter weight than I expected. Men's flannel shirts seem to have more heft.

I got the black scotch colorway and I'm actually a little disappointed in it. I wish there were a bit more contrast between the green and the navy. I'm an H cup, so it's tough to find button downs that fit and don't gap, but are flattering. This is as close as I can get without getting something custom. I might add a button in a strategic spot to minimize gaping, and see if a tailor can add some shaping.
