looked great out of the package, but washed it to wear and it looked terrible. as other reviewers noted: pilled, crumpled, needed ironing; poor fabric quality for the price. As a textile technologist and former Manager of Quality Control and Testing - i am very disappointed by this product

I purchased three of these shirts, and all three pilled after the first wash, and pilled even more after the second. They also look rumpled, like they need to be ironed. I ordered them in Tall, even though I am not tall because LL Bean's sleeves always end up being too short for me over time. (I always dry on low heat, and use the less dry option.) My husband still wears the LL Bean flannel shirts that I bought him 20 years ago. He wears them every day in the fall and winter and they all still look great, unlike these after two washings. I don't mind paying for quality, but sadly, this is no longer it. Very disappointing.

I purchased 7 Flannels and they all had defects. All of the shirts were Huge and very boxy. All buttons had to be resewn as they were all very loose. Some of the shirts we very thin and others were very heavy. After first wash each shirt had pilling. I have been a devoted customer for decades and these shirts were the most poorly made items that I have ever received. I paid top dollar for most of the shirts.so this was an investment. I will be lucky if these shirts make it through the Winter. These shirts are Not American made. The shirts made In these other countries are substandard for sure. So disappointed with the low quality of these shirts and the lack of oversight.

Sizing all wrong!I have 2 of these shirts from 2-3 years ago. I ordered same size and this one was HUGE. I weigh almost the exact same weight so it wasn't me.

The shirt was actually extra long (not a regular) and so I returned it to the local store for a refund.

Llbean's quality is not what it used to be. This fabric inexcusably thin.

Shirt was 5 star the problem was the shirt was heavy perfumed!!!! as if it had been worn by some one. It took 3 washing plus soaking for 24 hrs in borax to get the perfume smell out.and I do mean perfume, not some chemical smell

It ran small for an extra large. It started peeling the first time it was washed and continues to do so. Not worth the money

I purchased this shirt in 2 colors. Before washing, they fit perfectly. I followed the washing instructions exactly, and both shirts shrank (sleeves are too short) and the material is already pulling/fuzzing. I expected better quality from LL Bean as I've had these shirts in the past and they always held up well. Boo.

Scratchy fabric. Sloppy workmanship. Plaid did notmatch at seams. Size was weird. Long narrow sleeves and strange proportions. Not a quality shirt. Very disappointed.

I have to give this item a very low rating. It fit perfectly when it arrived and after one washing in cold water and dried on regular I can no longer wear it.

I purchased the black watch plaid flannel shirt and was pleased when it came back in stock. This is the third flannel shirt I have purchased from LL Bean. The first two are fine, this one is very poor quality material. I washed it once and it came out a mess with every piece of lint sticking to it and pilled. I tried washing it for a second time, same thing. I could never wear the shirt in public, looks awful, even after trying a lint brush. Sio disappointed in LL Bean for accepting this kind of quality.

I purchased the black watch flannel shirt and I have worn it 2 times and on both sleeves where you lay your arms on your desk or counter it has fuzz balls (pilling). I would think a shirt this expensive would not do this being so new!

This shirt in Angus color showed it to be bright with emphasis on purple. It is 5 shades darker and doesn't even look like the pic. It also has sleeves so long it could fit a gorilla,

Color not at all as pictured, very dull dark blue and red stripes. Not even bothering to unwrap or try on so I cannot attest to fit.

I bought and returned 3 of them. The plaid was mismatched on all 3 of them...front, sides, back yoke. Very disappointing. If you are wearing it under something and only the collar showed it would probably be fine for that.

wow, what is the story with the shedding and pilllings on this shirt? I have recently purchased several of the other LLB flannel shirt models. They are fine and hold up well. It is only this one that has the profuse shedding of fabrics and pillings into little balls on the remaining fabric. I washed it 3 times the same way I wash the others, and each time got worse and more funky-looking pilled fabric. Was there no quality control done on this model's fabric? I've been happy with my other LLB flannel purchases. But this one is a no-keep because of the shedding and pilling. thank you

I wore the shirt and washed as directed. Upon washing, the shirt came out all fuzzy. It was obviously made with an inexpensive fabric. A short staple fiber. This is not what I would expect from a $50 shirt. I am very disappointed in this purchase.

Shirt washed twice, but even after the first washing it was very apparent the fabric had pilled. Bought the Gordon pattern and now the colors looked mottled due to all the black pilling on the shirt. It's on the pile of clothing going to a charity. Will not purchase another flannel shirt from Bean. Their quality control has fallen in the last couple of years. Very disappointing.
