I first purchased this in a Misses Small then reordered in Petite Small for shorter sleeve and overall length. I LOVED the look, fit and Spruce(?) color. Then I turned and caught the rear view across my shoulders (both jackets). Just below the collar in the back is a double layer of the sweater fleece. Even if I stood up perfectly straight, the fabric bunched up and looked like I had a hump between my shoulders. If I leaned forward, it bunched and pulled into horizontal folds. I tried to convince myself I was ok with that, but in the end felt too self conscious to keep, and returned both. Otherwise, the Small Petite was perfect.

I had an older version of this sweater. Aside from the visible logo on the front, this sweater is not as heavy as the one I purchased 4 years ago. I use it as a ski sweater, wearing it over several layers. It is plenty roomy. Could probably wear an extra small, but I wanted it a little big. Overall, I like the sweater.

I have purchased these jackets in the past as gifts. But now with the LL Bean patch logo on the front they look so tacky. It is embarrassing to wear or give as a gift. Please remove the patches or put it on the inside of the jackets. The jackets were so nice looking and tasteful prior to add the tacky patch. I hope the LL Bean Marketing and management actually listens to consumer requests. I have read many other reviewers mentioning the same thing.

The fit was okay, a little narrow across the shoulders. But I didn't like the back hanging longer than the front. It looked droopy to me. I returned it.

I ordered a large petite because I wanted the jacket to be roomy enough to fit over a sweater. It was not only roomy, it was also much too long. I looked like a child borrowing a parent's coat. I like the sweater fleece fabric, but not the style or fit -- at least not on me.

I loved this jacket when I first got it. I sized up to allow a bulkier sweater underneath and it was perfect. However, after about a handful of uses the zipper broke. Disappointed. Expected more from llbean.

Sorry I had to send this item back. It was much more bulky and heavy than I expected. If you need serious warmth and heavy sweater-like fleece, this may be for you. Otherwise, the quality was great as seems true for everything I order from LL Bean. Happy Winter!

I have this same jacket from two years ago. It is XLPetite. It's great. I ordered the same size, in this new color, and it was too short. I exchanged it for a regular XL, and it seems too tight? Now comfortable. Unhappily, I must return it. I am disappointed.

I find this sweater fleece to be uncomfortably bulky. I can't imagine wearing another outer garment, such as a rain jacket, over it.

Excellent fleece jacket. I have the old ones without the Bean label on the chest. I'm so sorry they ruined this jacket by doing that. I could take it if it were down at the bottom and not so in your face. Wonder who thought this up?

Ordered 4 in different colors with mixed results. The women's sailcloth has pilled all over the outside which looks sand feels terrible even though the inside is soft and cozy. It also does not hang straight at the bottom of the zipper - odd uneven curve. The men's reddish brick color and clay heather are pill free. The women's blue was a gift so unknown outcome.

Come ON, LLBean, bits of polyester are found in every corner of the globe, including the Arctic. Every time we wash fleece, we put bits into the waterways. We are all ingesting them when we eat seafood, and all the animal life ingests it as well. Much as I love the ease and comfort of fleece, I cannot buy any more. LLBean has a great selection of natural fiber clothing! Check it out!

Pros - Fits true to size (Pet-L), so far the fabric is good, I like the zippered pockets. Hoping they'll be good for a road trip to Newfoundland, with lots of hiking and bird watching. Cons - Collar is very stiff; I don't like the logo - can't wear the sweater with nice pants for a dressier look. (I'm not 17 and I don't need to advertise where I get my clothes. If LLBean wants to advertise, they should pay for it!) Getting a little disappointed in LLBean - quality has slipped; items are often out of stock. :( I would still recommend this, but read all the reviews carefully.

I wanted a fleece jacket that would be fashionable yet warm. I thought this would fit my needs, and it does, however, the collar is weird. It doesn't lay flat, and it curls up. I understand it could have been styled to be a high zip collar but for that purpose, it's too big and bulky. I wish the style would have had a collar that laid flat but this one does not. It's very bulky and awkward.

The fabric is too informal - it is really a glorified sweatshirt. And, the L.L Bean emblem is too prominent. I didn't even try it on and returned it.

I was satisfied with the quality and colors offered but appalled by the size and location of the LLBean logo on the upper chest.

Nice cut, but the collar will stick in the back of you neck forever while the front collar tab points keep sticking into your face. From the fabric I can tell the collar will never relax. That is my only complaint. But bad enough that I am returning.

I liked the fleece/sweater well enough except for the ugly logo on the chest area. It totally degrades the look of the garment. Not all of us want our clothes to look "sporty" or be a walking advertisement! I returned the garment for this reason and will be more circumspect when I order the next time.

I just loved the fit and the color and the warmth...BUT...the collar is stiff and I like to wear this kind of thing around the house when it is cold during winter so I can keep the heat down. The neck just really bothered me when I had it zipped - and I always wear these zipped. If the neck were more comfortable I would say this was a perfect garment.

The depiction of the jacket appeared to be fitted. When it arrived, the jacket was more of a classic fit. The fabric was fairly thin. I wanted a closer fit and a warmer jacket. I returned the jacket.

I love the fabric, but I hate the stiff zipper and trim. The collar stand up and will not fold back so it hits my chin every time I turn my head. Also, the sleeves are too long for me, but the way the trim is applied at the end of the sleeves make it very difficult to shorten the sleeves.

I started with a Reg L. Sleeves were nearly 4 inches too long, also too tight for my arms and the body was too snug. Returned for a Pet. XL. It was too large so returned. Desperate to get a nice fleece I later ordered a reg. XL which of course was too large. I am used to altering clothing to fit so shortened sleeves, took in seams. I guess I will always be between reg. and petite and between large and XL in some items. Usually I can make them usable. This jacket has a strange 'duck tail' shape in back which I did not care for and because it was a bit large was accentuated. I realize that manufacturers and designers of women's clothing have huge challenges since our bodies are as unique as snowflakes. The sweater fleece fabric is beautiful and warm, but I found it hard to match my body with a size that fit.

It's of good quality but the collar is stiff and brushes up against my cheeks. I'm unable to keep it away and I found that quite bothersome. That's my only complaint but for me, it's a big one.
