I tried these on instore and they don't compare to the Older sawtooth. Your new shows have a weird fit.....the old foot bed it was amazing. And add more wide options in better colors. I LOVE my old Oboz and have worn out 2 pairs of low and 2 pairs of winter.

I have had several pairs of the Sawtooth and Sawtooth II. Love the ventilation and the wider toes and narrower heel. Why change a great thing? Now I find myself looking at other brands to get the great fit and breathability that I always got from the Sawtooth.

Having just learned that Oboz made their hiking shoes in women's size 12, I couldn't wait to try a pair. Ordered the Sawtooth X in drizzle. I love everything about the look of these shoes. The drizzle color is actually more gray than the brownish tint on the website, until you hit a certain light and it transforms into the lovely light brown shown on the website. It is light and not too bulky looking. The shoe is very responsive with a firm but giving insole and midsole. The shoe was not overly wide for my relatively narrow foot--that is except the heel. Unfortunately, I am returning these because the heel cup is too wide. With the heel section also being quite shallow, it was hard to tighten the shoe enough to keep my heel from slipping....I am very sad...but had also ordered a pair of Katabatics, and they work! No slipping heel! Yay! Very happy as the mission of Oboz seems worthy of support.

Just got my second pair, the Sawtooth X Low was the closest style to my first pair. I had them for a good 4+ years and from the first ware they were comfortable, no sore toes or feet, nothing. Hiking every weekend and now couple times a week. Best hiking shoes ever, my new pair is as comfortable as my first. The thing I'd change, is if they the second pair was the exact same style as my first.

I wanted a solid hiking boot and these are exactly what I hoped to find. I took the time to get my foot measured and try on several styles and brands. The Sawtooth X felt great from the moment I put it on. I am on the borderline for a wide shoe size and I was glad the Sawtooth offered a wide version. I like the traction I got on dirt, gravel and in the mud. I feel confident in this boot and it is great looking. I expect to enjoy a lot of hiking miles with these boots!

I have worn Merrell footwear for years. I walk and/or hike everyday with my dog. I thought I would try these as the reviews were positive. I dont typically write reviews, good or bad, but I felt compelled to share my disappointment in these shoes. They gave me a blister from day 1, which Im willing to deal with, however, I have been wearing these shoes with a small bandaid to alleviate the discomfort, hoping to ride it out, eventually breaking them in and enjoying what yall are raving about. Its been just over 3 weeks and I am still suffering from blisters with these shoes. These are definitely the most uncomfortable shoes Ive ever purchased. I am sorry I spent the money I did on an alternate brand. I will purchase from my ever reliable Merrell going forward. Very disappointing !

I didnt know the change from sawtooth to sawtooth X. Not really a fan of the shoe. Donated to Salvation Army for a needy person to wear. Great service though.

I needed a new pair of Sawtooth II and went to REI to buy them. I was told they were not longer available and offered me the Sawtooth X. Even in the store they felt weird and not comfortable. Decided not to buy a shoe that was not comfortable. Bring back Sawtooth II originals. Best shoe ever.

Much improved flat lacing that holds. The previous version with round lace required a double knot to hold. I prefer the looks of this boot over previous version. I have very narrow feet and painful knee arthritis and the foot bed holds me securely with stability. I also use a custom orthotic insert that helps my narrow foot fit a bit better.

These are super supportive and sturdy! If give them a five but they are really heavy. Still, I'd buy them again.

I bought the tan color and LL Bean sent the grey color. Another review posted this same issue. These shoes run small

The length and width were fine but for me the arch started too far back (too near to my heel) so when walking it was uncomfortable

I have a size 11 narrow foot. Pros: These were a perfect length - one of the few shoes that actually runs true to size for me. The narrow footbed also fit well. They feel very sturdy. Cons (for me): I have narrow heels and in my left foot, there was a lot of heel slippage. Even using the extra lace holes I couldn't get my heel to stop slipping. The laces are thin and seem short, and I had a difficult time getting the entire shoe to cinch up. Finally, these Oboz Sawtooth X shoes are not the same shoe as the original Oboz Sawtooth shoes - just an FYI.

My first order and they sent the wrong color. I ordered this shoe in Drizzle which is a light beige and I received a dark gray. The shoe is great, fit is perfect. I wear a 7 and they are true to size. Unfortunately I can't return them because the box and everything was destroyed by accident. Might not order again.

The fit on the right shoe was perfect. the fit on the left shoe did not give me any arch support and my foot ached (even for hours afterward) when I tried to wear it. Thank you for taking this return.

Seams in all the wrong places for me. Worst one was over a toe joint that I'd had surgery on. They might be great shoes for some people, but not for me.
