Like many other reviewers, I have tried common takes on the traditional camera backpack. Like many others, I was left unsatisfied and with a wishlist of changes I'd like to make to create the perfect bag. Peak Design took that wishlist and made it a checklist.
The Everyday Backpack V2 is everything the photographer needs in a bag. Ethical, functional, aesthetic, meticulous attention to detail. It's a bag that you can feel good about buying. Not only does a portion of your money go to making the world a better place to live in, the construction is recycled plastic, furthering the environmental focus even more. This makes the bag last longer, which creates less waste. It's just win-win-win-win.
The attention to detail is no surprise coming from the people who brought you Capture, a unique and revolutionary way to carry a camera outside your bag. Each and every component of the Everyday Bag V2 is carefully thought through, making it as easy to use and functional as possible. From the magnetic closures, to the origami-folding organization system, the only limit to the functionality of this bag is the user's imagination.
Lastly and certainly not least, the cherry on top, the icing on the cake, the final flourish, the essential enhancement, the.. you get the point. Aesthetics. The Everyday Backpack V2 would already be a revolution with all the aforementioned details, but that wasn't enough for Peak Design. They had to make it beautiful. The definition of form following function. Every line, seam, and accent unites in performing a visual symphony of design that belongs on a catwalk, yet works in the dirt. I enjoy looking at the bag as much as I enjoy using it.
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack V2 is all things to all men (and women, and everyone else). It's a bag you can be proud to own, an old friend, a confidant, a..

I've had my Everyday Backpack for a few years now and it has been a tremendous boon for my work day. Everything I need to get from home, to the lab, to a coffee shop to code fits in it well. The side access is amazing and I find myself using it more then I thought. When combined with the Tech Pouch for cable safekeeping the bag size seems to expand even more. :)

I bought this at the end of the summer last year and have used it extensively since. The functionality of this bag is top notch, honestly. I function best when everything is mise en place and this bag gives me the tools to make it happen. It's so easy to quickly grab what I need bc I know exactly where it is and the accessibility in the bag is so easy.

I don't usually do reviews, but in the case of the Everyday Backpack, I had to make an exception. Really. Even with all the raving positive reviews, it is WAY better than I expected it to be, which convinced me to spend this kind of money on a backpack. I bought the black, size 20 version, and it's hands down the best backpack I've owned. I'm 6'3," and the size is perfect, discreet, and fits incredibly comfortably with an MBP 14" tablet, tons of accessories, and a spare camera set.
While I'm not a photographer, I work in media, carry a backup camera set, and am highly mobile in my work environment. The accessibility, layout, and quality are much better than expected. I was concerned by what I thought was a slightly strange boxy, wide bottom design, which didn't work well in pictures and videos for me. However, it's fantastic in 'real-life.' Incredibly functional accessibility, really well-thought-out design. I'm a fan.

The details the team put into this backpack are just incredible. If you're like me you have a pocket for everything. The bag is very balanced when I'm taking on a rocky steep trail. Houses my photography and drone gear easily.

I have had the everyday backpack for 2 weeks now and so far extremely impressed. Build quality is exceptional (as you would expect) but the amount of room is what really blew me away. I haven't even needed to open the expandable zipper, and easily carries everything I'd need for a day (or weekend out). Tbh you could easily use this for a light travel longer vacation too.
It was a tough choice between this and the everyday carry, but for me the spacious and full opening main pouch won me over (compared month the multi compartment approach to the ec).
Yes these backpacks are pricier than more budget friendly alternatives. But quality, usability, and versatility (not to mention environmental consciousness of the company) really make it worthwhile!

V2 is relatively small in size of 30L, compared to v1.
Divider is available in the internal slip pocket, it is great.

I was debating between this and the PRVKE and I'm glad I bought the everyday bag. It's perfect for transporting university stuff and a camera in one bag; the quick folding and retracting dividers are awesome. If you can't get your stuff to stay snug within the provided spaces that could be an issue, but I was able to arrange my camera gear such that that wasn't a problem. It's a beautiful bag which in black is pretty stealthno one has commented on it or noticed ita big plus for me. I'm sure the other colors would be a bit more eye catching, if you're into that.

I have probably been through 15+ bags throughout my career as a photographer but have not looked back since finding this bag on Kickstarter. Certain features such as top loading and full zip opened sides are nothing new, the quality of build is what sets peak design bags apart from the competition. Also, enough can not be said about the magnetic hook latch!

Two years into using my Everyday Backpack for all my backpack needs. It is my carry-on while traveling, my daily laptop, etc. bag, and really, just a great friend. Sorry if I don't say it enough, Backpack. Love you, man.

I'm a traveling construction supervisor meaning I go from plane to plane job site to job site and carry a 16" laptop and surface pro, full size DSLR, hard hat, clothes, etc. It's not let me down.

I love the customization available with the internal folding sections. I don't use the bag for camera equipment but for other tech. My 15" surface book 3 fits great in the laptop section. I store my 40oz Hydro flask in one of the side zippers, along with all my other EDC for my job like a full size mouse, range finder, FLIR thermal cam, chargers, headphones, and more.

I love this bag! I woke up early in Thailand one morning, grabbed my gear and rode my scooter 20 minutes for a pre sunrise photo, hiked a kilometer and then put my bag down, just to find out I forgot to zip up the side panel. I can't believe nothing fell out. Worth the cost of the bag right there... but there is more. I had an issue with the zipper after a few years and the customer service to replace it was very organized, simple and fast.

I've had the larger sized, everyday backpack for about a month now and I cannot say enough good things about it. The flexibility of the inner sections is a total game changer. I no longer need to jam stuff in or stack it up and then have to dig for my gear, notebooks, or whatever I'm carrying. The side openings make it even simpler to find stuff. And the tons of pockets, make it easy to carry everything I need. The straps are easily adjustable and can carry my work laptop and personal ones handily. I really love this product - it was extremely well thought out. My only challenge (and I am stretching here) is sometimes when its fully loaded and I am putting it on my back, the left side strap occasionally reverses and I have flip it over. Like I said, I am stretching to find anything that needs improvement. It really is the best bag ever.

I've only had it for a few weeks and really enjoying it as a daily carry, the flexible compartments in the main pouch really are super useful to have. Pricy but worth it for me.

Love this bag! It's perfect for small trips or for my daily work
Pros: lots of space (i have the 20L), awesome design, smart pockets and magnets, customizable space inside
Cons: it's a quite heavy bag. I would love to have a lighter version for hiking (maybe with less rigid material). I don't mind the weight for small trips or daily work but would not use for long hikes
Conclusion: definitely recommend it for small trips or daily commute

I have both the V1 30L and the V2 20L. The V2 20L is my daily driver. V2 sides don't open as flat/easy and some of the details (external carry straps) are plastic instead of all metal like the V1. but lots of upgrades in other ways. They both are really high quality products. I had a minor problem with my V1 and Peak made it right immediately. I was really impressed by this. They stand behind their products. I have so many peak products. Highly recommend.

I really love this camera bag, it is so streamline and fits everything I need in one place. The tripod from Peak Design also fits well in the pocket and gets me hands free when I need it. Love, love, love this bag!

Got this as a gift almost 2 years ago and it hasn't disappointed yet. It is extremely versatile and I was able to use it as a college backpack and a camera bag, so it is really well rounded for multiple uses.
