I've worn Xodus for years on gnarly trails. This version is not the shoe for rugged technical trails that the Xodus used to be. Fit is a bit off, loose around forefoot toe area and doesn't give that foot hugging stability that I want, nor the underfoot stability for uneven rocky territory. The liner is super thick so you get a cushy feel but I am afraid when the liner wears out the shoe will be sloppy. This may also affect those who remove the liner and use their orthotic. Saucony, please choose another shoe to make the Ultra. It's a great idea, going for light and agile, but you've ruined what was a truly rugged trail shoe in my opinion.

I love Saucony and have worn the Peregrine since version 7. I thought it would be a good idea to try a more cushioned shoe as I'm training for a 100 miler and the Peregrine may not have enough cushion as I get into the later hours of the race. Out of the box, the Xodus Ultra felt goodthey're super comfortable and cushy... however, when I got on the trails, I found the fit was slippery and sloppy. My feet slide around in the midfoot no matter how tight I lace them and I don't feel very stable going over technical terrain. The Xodus Ultra runs bigger than the Peregrine in the same size, so I might try a 1/2 size down to see if it alleviates some of my issues, but as of now, I won't be able to wear these in my 100 mile. I really wanted them to work because I'm a huge fan of Saucony and this shoe has been getting amazing reviews, but I definitely feel I need a 1/2 size down to really get the best out of the shoe!

This shoe has lost a lot of what I liked in my previous Xodus. I prefer a shoe that holds my foot securely when I travel over rocks and stumps. This shoes feels more like a road runner than a trail runner.

I have purchased many (many) Saucony shoes over the years. I like them because they reliably fit and cushion my feet. Until this pair! I bought them to be "work shoes" at my volunteer Food Bank job. The cushioning is good. But there is something about the tongue and upper edge that kills my feet. I tried to "break them in," but only succeeded in breaking my lower ankle area and the top of my feet. Total waste of money.

I've worn the Xodus the last six years for all my trail and winter runs. I've been looking forward to the Xodus Ultra since their release, sadly, they're a major disappointment. The toe box is sloppy and feels cheaply made while the the ankle collar rides high. It's thick, rigid and just plain uncomfortable. These shoes didn't leave my living room before I decided to return them and search for the Xodus 11 in my size.

I've been a 100% Saucony wearer for 15 years. I've loved the perigrinr and now exodus. I was super excited for the new exodus but I am really sad about the construction . I am getting about half the miles out of the new exodus vs older saucony trail shoes. The soles are literally wearing off.

This is the first time I've gotten blisters immediately from a pair of Saucony. They fit my foot horribly and I had to return them.
