Feels great running and hiking in these shoes! And I've been getting loads of compliments on the color!

Put about 100 miles on them trail running up and down the Wasatch Front, 20 to 30 miles at a time in all kinds of weather. They have held up great and were comfortable from day one. Looking forward to using them for the R2R2R.

Best trail shoe Saucony makes now that they screwed up the Peregrine in version 12. I appreciate the extra cushion and the shoes are very comfortable. Only complaint is the toe box is just a bit too big to feel complete control on more technical stuff.

Great shoe! Ran on some technical rocky courses up to 24 miles so far. If I had to make any changes, possibly a little wider toe box.

I bought the Xodus Ultra as an alternative to the new Peregrine 12. The new Peregrine felt too minimalistic and the rock plate seemed absent. It's not longer a decent training shoe in my opinion. So far I have really enjoyed the Xodus Ultra. I'm currently running about 60-70 miles per week and have over 100 miles on the shoes. They provide great support, the rock plate works (I run on mountainous terrain), and I like the overall design of the shoe. I have some new blisters, but I don't know if the shoe is to blame or other factors. I wish I could tuck the laces away like on the Peregrines, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. Other color schemes would be great, like dark natural colors (the Alloy/Olive/ViZi on the Peregrine 11 was fantastic). Bright yellow is attractive for about the first 2 miles out of the box until the shoes get caked in dirt and muck.

Very comfortable and lots of cushion, they do not feel as stable as the other trail shoes so maybe less stack would be beneficial

Comfortable and supportive on moderate trails. Wider in the forefoot than the Peregrine, but still a nice fit in the heel area. Overall, great!

Bought these to be my new primary trail running trainer and to cover long day hikes. Wore these comfortably on hike to Half Dome and loved how stable the shoe felt on irregular surfaces while delivering high stack plush comfort and rock plate to keep my feet happy. Love the gusseted tongue and debris shield as well but wouldn't mind a lace loop! Toe box is accommodating on downhills and the foam took about 20-25 miles to break into its sweet spot so don't stress if they feel slightly firm out of the box.

These shoes are amazing. First run was a 26 training run. They just felt right and I was happy with them the entire run. No blisters or bruised toenails so what's not to love.

Great shoe, would purchase again. I should have broken them in more before my 30k. With only 10 miles on them, I wore them for my most recent race and performed well. Lots of comfort and roomy.

These shoes do exactly what I expected. They kept my feet comfortable and protected during extended pushes. My very first run in these was a 27 mile ridgeline trail run and I came away without any blisters or abnormal pain. I would highly recommend these to anyone wanting to run long distances on trails.

I love these shoes! Soft yet responsive, plenty of traction, and man are they light. I don't believe in a perfect shoe for ultras, but this one might change my mind in a couple of days.

I was expecting something nice and I was not disappointed. Great cushion for the price and weight. 1st trail run was 7+ miles and the legs and feet were feeling good after the run.

I was devastated when the Mad River TR2 was discontinued. I have run through four pairs of them, and they were ALMOST perfect. (My wishlist for those shoes was: a little more grip, a rock plate, a tad more cushion) - Well..... this new Xodus does exactly that. It's cushion is fantastic - these shoes are extremely comfortable. Especially compared to the previous version (Xodus 11) which I actually broke my ankle in...... they are light, and nimble, with the perfect amount of grip and protection. I have put quite a few miles on these shoes thus far, and what I have noticed with them, is that while I am running in them, I find myself never thinking about my feet/shoes while running, and that is a great thing. The midsole material is fantastic, the rockplate provides just enough protection without eliminating groundfeel (like some high stack trail shoes will do) The toebox is super generous, the gusseted tongue is lovely, and I was leery of the lacing system but it actually turned out to be pretty comfortable. It took me a little effort to find the best way to get a locked in fit, and I cannot recommend enough replacing the stretchy laces that come in these shoes with a lace type that does not have elasticity to it. There is a little give from the lacing system, and using a stretch lace just allows for too much movement - it's my one complaint.

Fantastic fantastic fantastic!. Absolutely my new favorite trail shoe! So far I have 20 miles underneath them and can't wait to get back out on the trails again. They have just the right bounce and are soft under the feet while not being too soft to cause leg soreness.

Fantastic trail shoe. Fits me well much better than equivalent shoes from other manufacturers. Also have the Saucony Freedom 4 for road running and I can say enough good things about those either.

I have collapsed arches and wide feet. These shoes are the perfect combo of firm and soft, my feet don't hurt one bit after trail runs. It takes a bit to figure out lock down but once you do, they're like a glove. They accommodate my wide feet well and they feel super sturdy. I switched from Hoka Speedgoats and the Xodus Ultra are my go to now! Highly recommend for those needing a little guidance and support.

I'm only 35 miles into these, but early assumption is that I'll be running in these a ton. For reference, I'm 50-60 miles a week, 75% trail. Run 1 - 20 miles Adirondack singletrack Run 2 - 15 miles Vermont mountains I'd liken these to a roomier, comfier Peregrine 12 (another shoe I quite like). Grip is comparable, the foam and plate absorb most anything, and the toe box has that roomier feel I like on long days. My hope was to train in and use these for an upcoming 50 and that'll definitely be the case, replacing my aging Speedgoats. I almost could have gone down 1/2 in these and been a little more confident moving fast over technical terrain, but I'm mostly satisfied with my normal size. Current trail favorite over the rest in my trail box (aforementioned Peregrines and Speedgoats, as well as a couple of VJs and La Sportivas).

Good trail runner. Significant wear on lugs after 2nd use on 11 mile hike. Would expect it after more wear and tear. Nice propulsion forward design. Was rubbing inner ankle when first started using the shoes but wore in time with no issues later.

I needed a solid trail running shoe for all of the trails surrounding me here in Montana. This shoe has excellent cushion for those descents down the mountain and it feels fairly stable on the turns. Overall the shoe feels light and it looks great! I ran a 15 mile trail run with these right out of the box and had no issues. I have since then put in quite a few miles with the shoe showing little signs of wear. These shoes are not waterproof so my feet did get wet on the trails with tall grass overgrown onto the single track. The traction is solid in both loose rock/gravel and in mud. I have neutral feet and run in a place where I don't really need a lot of ventilation because Montana doesn't really get that hot. You could race in these and they really do well as an all purpose training shoe if you run on trails a lot. You can run slow or pick up the pace with no issues. The only reason I didn't give it a five out of five overall is because I wish they were a bit more waterproof and the stability isn't perfect for some of the sharp turns I have had to take. I run pretty fast though so most people will probably be just fine. Overall, a descent shoe. I love to run in the saucony triumphs when I'm going super long on the roads so this shoe is the long day shoe for the trails. My background is in marathons and ultra running.

I bought this shoes about a month ago, I guess I had to break them in because at first it was hurting my skin close to the ankle area. Other than that they are very comfortable.

Only done 20 miles on 2 runs but so far, nice responsive mid-sole and grippy outsole, especially in mud. However its best suited for wide feet. I'm finding it hard to get a firm wrap around my mid foot so I have foot slippage which led to a small blister. Laces are slippery and make it hard to cinch down and my feet are on the slimmer side. Wish is was a more secured, wrapped fit. Otherwise I like it and looks great.

Great shoe. My favorite cushioned trail shoe (from another brand) changed to the point of being almost unrecognizable, so I had to go on the hunt for new shoes. I tried many shoes from many brands and am so glad I found the Xodus Ultra. I'm not a big fan of wide toeboxes, so I appreciate the snug fit of this shoe. Also, while it has lots of cushion, it doesn't feel mushy or like a marshmallow; it has great a great springy feeling. My only complaint is that I wish it came in size 13.5. (This has been a problem for me for ages.)
