I was introduced to Brooks several years ago by a local shoe fitter and have loved them ever since. I purchased these along with the same size (10 1/2 D) Cascade 16s & Trace 2s. All three seemed true to size and nicely made. I wore each around the house for several days and finally decided the Anthem 5s just felt the best on my feet. I'm not a runner but just needed a new pair of comfortable walking shoes. These are really light with a nice mesh shell. The only negative I see so far is the foot beds are not removable which I'd prefer but at least for now these are really light, comfortable and provide adequate arch support for my feet which I think of as having a "moderate"arch (not flat nor pronounced).

Fit was good but felt a bit soft. After 4 or 5 days developed some pain in both feet and realized this shoe was not the same as my old Brooks Anthem 4. Pulled the "insole" and it was barely 1/8" inch thick and very soft. I tossed them out and put in a pair of orthotic insoles I use in most of my shoes/boots. After several days now things are getting back to normal foot wise.

These are medium D and are a bit snug on my husbands foot , but we kept them Because wide is too big in width He wears a thinner sock and there better I Love Brooks.. have several pairs

These are great shoes for training and an everyday wear.

The fit and finish seems to be good however the durability will have to be determined. Like them better than the previous model of the shoe

Shoes are wider than other Brooks owned (loose fit).

Comfortable and nice-looking shoes. I walk regularly and the heel cushioning is starting to wear through on the inside. Mind you, these shoes were about 6 mos old when this began. It's disappointing to "expect" shoes to be discarded after this short of a period.

I bought these for my husband and within a couple of months the sole started to detach, specially in the front. We’re getting the ghost model again since that one lasted a lot longer.

Tested these on my 4 mile walk. They have a disconcerting rocking like feeling to them. Tried to like it, but my left toes started cramping and vfc the top of my foot ached and hurt for two days after the walk. Never have had this happen before. Had to return.

Is it just me or has Brooks been getting worse lately?? I’ve been wearing Brooks for years and up until recently I’ve had to return multiple pairs bc of the poor quality!! It’s getting really annoying! I actually just ordered a pair of New Balance?.

These Anthem pair of Brooks are horrible!! I can’t believe the company would jeopardize its great reputation??! I’ve been a die hard Brooks fan for years & got these solely for work bc I’m on my feet 10 hours a day delivering for Amazon. I haven’t had the chance to call customer support but I will this weekend… I wore them to work for 2 days just to see how they felt and given the FACT I buy a lot from Zappos they should honor a refund?! I want the Cascadia’s bc I ordered my usual size 10 and they were too big, never should have gotten the Anthem’s!!!
