This is my fourth pair of Johnston & Murphy leather dress shoes, all bought from Zappos, and all for me--a petite woman who loves wearing men-inspired attire and kicks. Just as with my other J&M boys shoes, this pair is so comfortable that I can wear them all day and I have! Due to right foot issues that have popped up in recent months, I now wear wider fitting shoes and these fit the bill (I'm typically a women's size 7.5 and these J&M shoes are a 5.5 boys with a wide toe box). I also wanted a pair of black derbies that were a cross between dressy and casual and that's what these shoes are. They complement my more dressy J&M shoes. It's great that I can find and wear men-inspired nice-looking leather dress shoes without breaking the bank. And honestly, J&M dress shoes are much more comfortable than way more higher-priced dress shoes that I own but no longer wear as they are too uncomfortable (e.g., narrow width, no padding in the insole, leather external soles--contrary to what some might say, IMO and experience leather soles are NOT comfortable). And kudos to Zappos for the super fast delivery! These dapper puppies arrived the very next day after ordering!

My son loved them plus I can use shoe polish on them so they will always look great!!

I bought these for my 10 yr old son for a bit nicer dress shoe. He usually needs a wide toe box, room for a higher instep and breathable material. These shoes accommodate very nicely while still being polished and dressy. They are also lightweight, comfortable and breathable! Since they are made of leather I’m hoping any scuffs can be polished up and made to look nice again but he has only worn them a few times so haven't tested that yet~

I bought these shoes for my college-aged son. They are gorgeous. The leather is luscious and the style is very grown-up. In testing it indoors, my son said that his heels go up when he walks. When he tried them again with foam inserts, he said that the left foot was fine, but that we still needed to do some work with inserts for the right foot. We are hoping to keep them, but I want my son to try them on again with a thicker insert for the right foot. They are dress shoes that would not look good with the athletic socks that he usually wears, but I think that a half size down would be too small.

These are narrower than the average shoe

Just bought these and the heel of the leather is digging into my sons foot. Even after the second time wearing them. Cute style but my son is miserable.

I was VERY disappointed to find size 4 shoes in a box that said size 6! Who is doing quality control over there!!!
