It's thick and puffy. It's good for very cold days. Might be too hot for not so cold days. My grandkid prefers the thinner kind but I bought this one just for the very cold days.

Very happy with the purchase. It will keep him warm and cozy next year. Great hood.

Great kids winter jacket that is very stylish and functional. Love the wool-like lining for cold Chicago winters and the cozy hoodie so my son doesn't have to put on a hat if he gets cold (which he hates doing). The construction looks solid and the zippers all appear to work very well. Cannot say enough good things about the quality and look of this jacket, especially at this price point. Great job LL Bean!

Bought this jacket to replacey daughters previous one and it is a hit. Warm and comfortable. She likes that she doesn't have to wear a fleece under her jacket. Great on hikes.
