The jacket is warm and stylish, my 9 year old son loves it (we got the multi color blue) but since we got it, it won't zipper. Thought it was just a tricky zipper, often fussing with it when the bus was arriving with no time, but I spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out, it won't zip. Now I have to return it, which is a pain to go without a coat. Frustrating and poor quality!

Not a great coat. Leaks down more than any other down coat we have, or owned previously. Fabric on this coat seems different than any of the 30 or so coats we have purchased from LLB over the years, and I do not mean better. Try a different model.

My daughter zipper broke on her coat. Like, broke completely in half. L.L. Bean requires us to send the coat in hopes that they "deem it" faulty (or something of that nature). Seemed like a nice coat, but disappointed in the zipper, and more disappointed in the customer service.

This jacket is so cute and just what I was looking for but my son ripped it about a month after purchasing, you would think it would be made from a sturdier material given the price

Great, warm coat but unfortunately a bit narrow under the arms. It fit very snug with just a regular T-shirt on. It would be way too tight with any kind of sweater or sweatshirt. Sizing up will not work as the arms are long. We ordered my son's usual llbean size, this jacket just fit differently.

I got a size 8 for my son who wears 4/5 assuming it would work for a couple of winters. It barely fits him. Looking at the reviews, most other people aren't having this problem so I guess i just got lucky.

I bought two of these jackets for my 3 and 5 year old boys, and they have loved wearing them for the last couple months. They're cute, lightweight and seem warm. However, just put them on tumble dry low per instructions and all the down came out of the arms! My lint trap is full of little feathers. Very disappointing. I reached out to customer service to see if I can return or exchange.

It looks SOOO Beautiful on computer, in person so that much or at least didnt look good on my son. What i didnt like at all is that the "fur" is ONLY on the body not arms. I HATE Jackets those are thicker on the Body and thinner on arms. Arms dont need protection from Cold, IDIOTIC, UNSCIENTIFIC Design!

I bought two of these jackets for my sons. They both had problems and show that LLBean quality is not what it used to be. The zipper broke on one, the area around the neck frayed on the other. The hand-me-down tag is cute, but is not at all realistic since the second kid can't wear it. This jacket turned me off of LLBean, because they used to fix things if they messed up. Now the person on the phone basically shrugs her shoulders, but in a nice way. So, another 2 jackets in the landfill that could have been repaired.

My kids just started wearing these coats in the past couple weeks and my son's coat already has a rip in it where feathers are coming out. I don't know if he just plays to hard, in which case: be careful if you have young, active children.

Isn't as warm as presented and the down feathers constantly poke thru and pick 5yr olds back. Feathers are on clothing all the time.
I cannot believe it isn't lined better!

These codes will definitely fit an oversized child. One that had maybe a little extra weight. For tall skinny kid I do not recommend, it was way too wide and baggy.

Last winter, I bought my son this down coat, which was supposed to be very warm. It is NEITHER WARM NOR WATERPROOF. I still had confidence in the quality of LLBean's coats back then, so I bought the more-waterproof kids 3-way coat for him, but that also is not warm. He has to wear that 3-way coat ON TOP OF this down coat in order to be relatively warm and dry. Add it up, and that is about $400 of coats needed to create a single functional coat for a child who will outgrow them in no time. I no longer have confidence in LLBean coats, so I want to make shoppers aware of the problems with them in hopes of keeping others from throwing good money after bad.

The jacket itself is fine for my rambunctious 10 year old but the zipper on the hood is extremely cheap and the hood does not stay attached (zipper broke within 1 month of use). Very disappointed in this purchase.

This winter coat looked nice at first, but we learned that it is not in fact a nice coat as soon as my son started to wear it. This coat cannot be worn if precipitation is falling or if snow is on the ground - deal killers for a kid's winter coat. My son comes home from school each day soaked through to the skin and freezing. Water (including melting snow) goes RIGHT THROUGH this coat.
To make matters worse, this coat does not wash well. I follow the washing instructions exactly. After one wash and dry, the loft was uneven and the jacket looked beat up. In addition, it is nearly impossible to remove mud stains from this jacket. They do not come off in the washing machine. We have a good top-loader washing machine that actually cleans the laundry (other than this coat, of course, which comes out of the machine still covered in mud stains). It takes two hours of hand washing to get the mud stains off the shell of this coat, and then they are back again the next time the coat is worn. This is extremely demoralizing.
This coat just doesn't work as a winter coat for kids. It seems that bad decisions were made as to the fabric used and manner of construction at nearly every step of the way. I don't know what the designers could have been thinking. Now I have to deal with returning this coat, which is an undue burden on me.

I bought this jacket for my son before winter starts. It's nice and work perfect for the cold weather. However, just 3 months in winter and jacket loosing a lots of protective threads. The jacket prior worked great but somehow this jacket is not up to the L.L. Bean standard.

This coat has been shedding feathers since the very first day we got it. I couldn't figure out where all the feathers were coming from at first, but I now see the down inside the coat comes out of the seams and through the fleece lining. Mulch from the playground is embedded into the lining and I have to hand pick it out. My daughter also complains the zipper keeps getting stuck. It's hands down the worst coat I've ever bought. I thought buying an LL Bean coat was going to be a really durable. I am so irritated I can't return it or get any sort of refund. I should have just bought a cheaper, offbrand coat.

The down started leaking a lot within 3 weeks. The inside clothes would be covered in down leaking through the jackets inside layer

Had to be returned. Sleeves are ridiculously long for a size 8. Purchased the smaller size a year ago and was hoping for another nice jacket

The zipper does not work well.
My 7 years old daughter asked for help with the zipper, when I tried to open it I realize that I is a bad quality zipper. I need to return it!

Bought this for my - son wore it to/from school for a month. Came in with a large tear his first time out in the snow. Called ll bean and it is not covered under the warranty because it's considered an accident. Two employees who I spoke with both admitted to having jackets in the same material that also ripped. Certainly thought LL bean would have better quality. Such a waste of money!

Very upset with this purchase. Not worth the money at all. After just one wash all the fiber seems to have jumbled missing fiber all around. Worried my child will be cold this winter. wish I could return & get my money back. Not worth to pay so much for such a cheaply made jacket. I have many jackets from LL bean & always wash using their recommendation but this one is poorly made.

My five year old son wore this coat twice before it rippeda large and nastyhole right in the front. I contacted LLBean service both by phone and email and was told, unhelpfulily, that I would need to return the coat to the company "for evaluation to determine whether it was defective." This is a terrible coat you can do better,
