Works perfect for my 6 year old in first grade. Not too big but functional for what she needs.

Very well made. Thick and sturdy material but also a pattern my daughter was excited about. Great size and fit for elementary school student.

Bean backpacks are very well made with lots of nice features. My seven year old grandson loves his pack!

Great backpack for my kindergartner! It is a tad big, so he should be able to use it for several years. It feels durable and well-made and I like the laptop sleeve.

Please make this style in a larger size. My son loves this style but now that he is older he is unable to fit everything he needs to bring to school in it. Up to this point it was great. He used it for three years and it is still in good shape. Just the water bottle holders are a bit frayed.

excellent LL Bean quality. I also love that LL Bean doesn't overbrand their products with large logos - thank you. Good size for a second grader, or an adult, and holds all the gear.

This is the third explorer backpack I have bought! One for each child. The first one for my son in kindergarten and he is now in 4th. It lasts!! Pockets in all the right places, washes well, is comfortable and in great colors/patterns.

It's a great size backpack for a middle schooler . The tie dye print is fun and my granddaughter loves it.

Perfect size for my elementary school kiddo. The straps are nice- wide and padded. The water bottle pouch on the side is a bit awkwardly short- but the smaller contigo bottles/cups fit well. Overall a nice back pack- it seems durable and should last him well into middle and high school.

Great backpack. It has just enough compartments. Not too many that you forget where you put stuff but enough to keep you organized. The orange accent looks great. My first grader loves it!

If this backpack is like the ones I've purchased in the past, it should serve my grandson well for many years. Time will tell as a very active 13 year old makes use of it.

Got this bag for my 8 year old son. He loves it and it's functional for school.

This was purchased for my grandson, and even though the camo p[rint was on backorder for three months, it was worth waiting for. He is very happy with this pack and it meets the needs of an active 9 year old.

Plenty of space. Exterior storage for two water bottles.

This is a good quality backpack with a lot of storage. Comfortable straps makes wearing it easier.

I was tired of purchasing new backpacks every year for my child, so decided to invest in something she can use for the years to come. Item shipped in a timely fashion. I love the many pockets and sections for books/laptop/accessories/knick-knacks, etc. This is a great piece to have for both school and travel (which we intend to use it for as well). Highly recommend!

Just the right size for me.

My daughter is on the small size for a Kindergartener, but this is the bag she really wanted. It's definitely on the big size for her, but it looks sturdy enough that it will last awhile. Hopefully she'll grow into it. But she loves it :)

I love the backpack I purchased from ll bean. It's colorful, and there are a lot of pockets to keep things organized. I love the wide straps, very comfortable when hanging on my back. It's one of the best yet that I've owned.

Perfect! My 8 yr old granddaughter is entering her pre-teens early, where everything in appearance is important. So, this backpack was just perfect. Girly colors of yellow, blue, pink, and purple in a flower pattern was unique and pretty. Throw is a pink water bottle and a tie dye face mask and she is set to start the 3rd grade. I've purchased Bean backpacks for daughters and now granddaughters and never have been disappointed.
