Clip on small pocket broke about 1 week into having the bag but the rest of it is wonderful

Love llbean! Been purchasing bags since i was in elementary school, now I get them forbmy kids. That last a long time. Had to get a new one as both zippers broke and was past the new rule of 1year to date of purchase. I dont mind too much,

Love everything about this pack except the water bottle holders. They are too short to hold any of our reusable bottles without bottles falling out (probably because they weigh more and tend to be taller). The only bottles that seem to stay put are the plastic disposable bottles. We're trying to save the turtles!

Great quality bag. We wished it was slightly bigger for my 13 year old.

Excellent sturdy backpack. Love everything about it except the belt which I didn't know it had. I am six feet tall and the belt attaches on my ribcage.

Did the material change for this bag? My previous 2 backpacks (same style) had a "shinier" material which was really nice looking. This new navy color had a flatter matte appearance. I do not like it as much, but I like the bag and its size and style.

Disappointing purchase. LL Bean has cheapened out the fabric. It is much thinner than before

The backpack looks great. The material is strong and of good quality. 4 stars were given because the color pictured is much different from the actual color of the backpack. My daughter was a little disappointed about the color, but she was overall happy with her new backpack.

Got this backpack for my so. Going into middle school. It's really roomy, he can fit everything he needs. Only problem is the zipper keeps getting stuck on the flap of fabric covering the zipper. Also kind of wish it had a laptop sleeve.

pockets: my daughter is unhappy that the pockets aren't black. her old LL bean backpack had black pockets and it was well loved for many years

Excellent back pack, excellent customer service. I deducted one star because I don't yet know how it wears. But it looks like the perfect size for my (tall) 3rd grade granddaughter, and has lots of pockets for organizing. Love the teal color, too.

The size is smaller than I had thought. This was advertised to be suited for High-School students and I'd say it's closer to Elementary to Middle-School. Initial quality looks good, but it is a bit lighter weight material than what I assumed. Not sure if it'll last years like some people have noted but I think it will get at least one whole school year.

My son really likes this backpack. However, we are disappointed that one of the mesh side pockets started to rip out of the top elastic on the second week of school.

Overall, a nice book bag; however, it seems smaller than a previous Deluxe BookPack ordered.

Good quality , but some fraying in the embroidery. We always love to use ll beans backpacks for the kids for school. They're durable.

The side pocket ripped after one use. Customer service sent a new one as soon as I called. Waiting on the label to send the old one back! Great customer service. Just a little disappointed in the rip.

I bought this backpack because the similar backpack that I purchased from L.L. Bean over 15 years ago was wearing out. While I like this version, I did not give it 5 stars because I thought it is not as good as the previous version: the zippers are not as sturdy, the fabric is not as durable, the top handle is one strap instead of a strap with rubber support. I still like the design and comfort of this backpack. I would recommend it to everyone. I regret that items are just "not made like they used to be".

I'll review when my grandson has a chance to see them and use them

I agree this is a great backpack/book bag. I've owned two so far. I've always thought that it would be better with a retaining strap inside the rear compartment, the one I hold the heavy books in, closest to my back. Put the books in, strap them down, they stay put close to my back. Then they won't fall back and make the pack look like it's 'overwelmingly' overstuffed full. It seems like it would work similarly to the side straps on day packs that pull the pack snug.

The only complaint I have with the backpack is the shoulder straps are not very comfortable, especially after wearing for multiple hours over multiple days in Disney. That being said, there is plenty of room to fit everything we needed over the few days. Strapping is strong, seams are sturdy, material is sturdy, zippers are well made. Really a great backpack for what we needed, except I've certainly had more comfortable shoulder straps on other L.L.Bean backpacks.

Great backpack, but prefer the larger (super deluxe) version for my middle schooler and high schooler. I also wish these backpacks came in a wider range of colors (including more pastel colors like this one).

Bought this backpack for my son for school, and just as he less ready to leave for school for the first time sporting the new backpack, one of the straps came apart at the seam. LLBean was great and sent a replacement right away. The replacement backpack is great, my son loves it.

Great backpack. Lots of pockets to keep everything organized.

A little larger, for book and 3 " binder would be great!

Something that would make this bag excellent would be at least slight padding to the laptop pocket inside. Otherwise, nice bag.
