Compared to the Elaho cap, the strap feels like it might be just a hair shorter and despite the overall shape being deeper, the circumference feels slightly narrower than the Elaho as well. This ends up making the hat fit somewhat conical on the head. This is coming from someone with an average/large size head, about 7 1/2 New Era. If the hat was just slightly bigger around and had a slightly longer strap, it'd be more proportional to its depth and would be perfect otherwise. The shipping email said this was going to the billing address and so there was a minor freakout but thankfully it ended up arriving at the shipping address I typed in (which, when you look up past orders on the site, you can't see the shipping address or any relevant data?). The worst part of the experience was that the hat arrived dirty. Not just dusty but it had actual like, crusty stuff on it too. Inside and outside the hat, all over. Disgusting. I don't know what's going on with Arc'teryx lately between them never having stock, their site constantly having inconsistencies, and then experiences like these.. Some say the brand is slipping. I feel that. The experience of this purchase has been a disappointment and I regret my decision.

I must say, it is a stylish and lightweight hat that's great for outdoor enthusiasts. It fits comfortably and is made from breathable material, keeping your head cool during intense activities. The sleek and modern design makes it a versatile choice for any occasion. However, I encountered some serious issues with this cap. Despite securing it tightly, it didn't stand up to extreme weather. On a hike in Mont Blanc, strong winds blew it right off my head, which was really frustrating. The same thing happened in the very windy Dutch and UK weather (if you know, you know). Another downside is the material's fragility. It picks up streaks and marks easily, especially when it comes into contact with stuff like carabiners and keys, leaving it looking worn out much faster than I'd expect for an outdoor product. So, while the Arcteryx Small Bird Cap has its good points, like comfort and style, its performance in harsh conditions and lack of durability are disappointing.

The hat itself was a made of nice materials fit well and was devoid of QC issues, however, the strap is not designed to accommodate a normal sized head. The strap has a clasp mechanism that allows for easy adjustment of the strap size but there is not enough excess strap. Therefore, the excess strap is not long enough to tuck away into the strap catch and you are left with an obnoxious dangling strap. While this would be a great hat, the issue is very uncharacteristic of Arc'teryx but disappointing nonetheless.
