I work in a bakery where I have to stand for hours at a time. My new NB shoes support my feet so well that they don't ache during my shift

I got the Fresh Foam X 1080v12 as a daily trainer but, to me, it's more of an easy or recovery day kind of shoe. I normally wear 8 and sometimes 8.5 so I ordered 8 EE and it was way too big when I tried it on. So I returned it and ordered 7.5 EE and it's still on the roomy side. NB's idea of "wide" seems to differ from other brands' shoes. Normally, the standard size works fine for me as my width is probably "medium", not "narrow" or "wide". Anyway, I've already put in 20 miles on 1080v12 so I'm keeping it but I've decided that I will put it away for now and use it in the winter with thicker socks. The 1080v12 has good cushioning but isn't quite as soft as I expected, which isn't good or bad, just not what I thought I was getting. It is firmer than I thought it'd be and has a decent energy return and pop. It's fairly comfortable but is a lot of shoe and heavier than I'd like for a daily trainer or for tempo running. It doesn't make me want to go fast. At the same time, it's not as soft-cushioned as other shoes that I'd consider for easy/recovery running. It sits somewhere in between and I'm not sure what to make of that. Overall, I enjoyed the several 6~7 mile runs I've had with the 1080v12 but it's a little too roomy with my summer socks and feels a bit clunky for faster running. I'm in SoCal and the ongoing 100+ degree heatwave has made me adjust my running schedule and the types of run I make and this shoe just does not fit in right now. Although this may seem like a less-than-positive review, I think it's a very good pair of running shoes. 20 miles isn't enough to make a final judgment and I think I will enjoy the 1080v12 in cooler weather and grow to like it more as time goes by and I rack up more miles.

Very comfy, but midsole is softer than the previous model. Makes my feet tired long walks. Haven't run in them. Also ordered a wide in my normal size but these run a bit long and should have sized down. Too late to return, unfortunately.

Not great for longer miles. Great and quick for shorter training runs.

It is rare for me to find size 16's that work for me and keep my feet from hurting- these 1080's are doing it. Love them. The purchasing process had a couple snags in it and then the delivery was delayed a few days. I'll buy more shoes from New Balance but I am hopeful the purchasing and delivery process is better the next time.

Very comfortable, yet stable. Light weight, but size seems a little bigger when compared to other brands

Bought these two weeks ago, and let me tell you, worth every penny! Feels like I'm running on pillows! Best running shoe on the market today!

Great fit, great cushioning. One thing to note, I've always worn a 10EE in the 1080 going back to about v9. This version I had to size down to 9EE, which for me fits exactly like the old 10. The only problem is that I had to return and buy several times to find the right size for me. If it weren't for this problem I would give 5 stars!!

The only thing keeping me from giving the 1080 v12s 5 stars is they do run a half size larger than expected. Luckily my feet still don't move around too much with the little extra room, but I would've gotten a half size smaller in retrospect. I've put about 60 miles into them so far on a few different surfaces, and I have zero complaints. Definitely my favorite shoe in my rotation right now!

From a comfort perspective they are fantastic, I love these for long slow runs. However, the rubber on the outsole is very soft and good for grip but not durable in the slightest. It recommends going down a half size which is necessary as the shoe does run ever so slightly long. All in all love the shoe just some small issues.

I was a fan of the v11 but the v12 runs tighter on width and length. My reason for switching was because I ran through two pairs of v11 because the flimsy top near the big toe got a tear both times. Here is hoping the v12 does better on that account... But the lower shoe is amazing for walking and running so I keep coming back to this a third time.

I normally wear a 13 medium in other running shoes. I saw reviews where it is recommended to order the NB 1080v12 a half size to full size smaller as they run long. I ordered this in a 12 1/2 and fit great.
I'd also recommend:

The shoes were absolutely comfortable! I have a bit of underptonation. These are a neutral shoe, but I fatigued the foam in 3 days and my static stance was underpronated because of it. Keep in mind I am 6'2" and 250lbs.

While this is a comfortable shoe the back side is much more snug than the previous V11. If they went back to the thinner support for the back of the shoe it would be better. It is still a comfortable shoe on the sole and toes though. I were these for work which entails standing and moving non-stop for 8 to 10 hours a day. My feet can definitely tell the difference between these shoes and any other type. The extra snug isn't needed though in my opinion and the V11 was definitely a lighter feel for snug.

Ordered a pair 11.5Xwide and they're still snug across forefoot but with thinner socks not so noticeable. So far this is the only winner I've found for wide feet.

The latest version of the 1080 didn't feel like there was as much support as the previous years iteration. I bought one pair from this year and last year and I kept the last year version. there just wasn't the same amount of cushion as the previous flavor.

I've got a little over 50 miles under feet, and its a great ride. Overall great daily trainer that can handle your small to middle distant runs with maximum comfort. Very breathable, responsive shoe where the foam-x tech is really doing the trick. Only slight critic would be durability if you are looking to take the shoe several hundred miles, as the outsole is already braking down slightly (not a huge deal though). Lastly, upper is very breathable but the downside to that for some runners is that the lockdown isn't really there on the foot. If you are an experienced runner and don't mind your foot moving in the mesh upper, then disregard. Overall, great shoe!!

Soft upper, no chaffing. Cushioning is a bit more spongy than I prefer, not enough spring imo. Don't care for the way the toe box area curls up. Overpriced imo, should be $130-$140 max

I use the shoe for lots of walking. Very comfortable and seems to hold up fairly well. The shoe is over priced though by about $20 in my opinion.

This is the best running shoes Experience I have ever had. It helped to make more miles. To me, more heel cushions would have been great. Except that it is a 5-star shoe.

I wear a 7.5 in New Balance. This version felt a half size larger/longer, so I purchased the 7. It was too small, my toe hit the front of the toe box. So, this version is larger/longer than a typical NB sneaker. Not a half size larger, maybe a quarter!
