Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12

I've always worn size 11 Vans. My last pair of running shoes was the Adizero Boston 6 in size 11, although I would've gone for 11.5 if I had followed the advice of shoe store reps to keep a thumb's width between my toe and the end of the shoe. Unfortunately that version of shoe got discontinued, and I've also gained additional weight so needed something with more cushion for my joints. With the 1080v12, I read a number of online reviews saying to go half a size down and I'm glad I went with size 10.5, which still leaves about a thumb's width between my toes and the end of the shoe. I also ordered the regular non-wide version but the midfoot fit tight (thank you Zappos for free returns!). I've worn enough athletic shoes to know you need something that is comfortable out of the box, and the wide version definitely suits me better. Having said that, the overall fit is slightly loose and I've had to learn how to use the extra lacing hole to get to my desired fit. So far so good, looking forward to regularly jogging in these.

The reviews I read sounded like most people liked the better than the 11's. They weren't as comfortable for me as the 11's. They didn't feel as cushioned. I personally don't care for the stiffer heal. I'd like a slightly wider/deeper toe box. Going to a 4E makes the whole shoe too wide as I have narrow heals. I'm a female w/ wide feet, one made worse by some bad surgery.

Sizing is very inaccurate on the 1080 V12. The narrow model is wider than a B width causing lateral foot movement in the shoe. It is also at least a full size longer than marked. As a comparison, the 880 narrow model accurately fits it's labeled "B" width. However, the 880 does fit slightly shorter than it's labeled length size.

Worst New Balance shoes I have ever worn, no arch support and my left foot has large bruise on the inside of my foot from the shoe rubbing on my arch. Would not recommend.

New Balance and a lot of reviewers say that this runs large and that you should order a half size down. That may be true in terms of length, but the shoe does NOT run large in width. I ordered an extra-wide (4E) and it was one of the tightest, most uncomfortable shoes I've ever put on. Major fail.

My first pair of NB runners. Usually buy Brooks. These are great support and cushion.

I normally need a size 15 Narrow in other sneakers but with this NB Fresh Foam X 1080v12 I am able to fit comfortably in a size 14 Narrow.

My 2nd pair of the FF X 1080v12, very comfortable, excellent support. Washing them with hot water, baking soda makes them look new, even after having blood and feces spilled all over them.

Not my favorite color but coming from the Fresh Foam x 1080v12 series, I would wear piss green if that was the only option available. Very comfortable shoe, very stable, moderate support. Still quite comfortable even after wearing for 12 hours on concrete floors.

Over 500 Miles! I'm a 65 yo male and I walk 6-8 miles every morning. I've worn New Balance for many years and really like the 1080s for support and this color is ideal for early morning walks (highly visible.) I'll probably have to "retire" them to the lawn now they've got so many miles, but I'll definitely get another pair for the rotation!

True to size.

The shoe runs large, hence the need to return it. I plan to order a smaller size.

I bought these in two colors. They're fantastic. The WW width fits my Fred Flinstone feet. They also provide support and help with my tendency to over-pronate. I can wear them all day!

I have issues with the pads of my feet aching... these so far have been quite comfortable and no aching.. Would recommend.

Show was so narrow my inner arch of my feet overlapped the soles of the shoe.

Fit and size were right on.

This is my third set of this style. I use 2 of them for work, and the third for gym time. Excellent fit, and after being on my feet, on concrete for 13 hours, my feet don't hurt.

These shoes fit my feet well and they are comfortable.

Perfect shoe and true to size

So very comfortable. Walking 10 plus mile days and couldn't have a better shoe. I have 5 screws in my foot and these shoes give me the comfortable cushioning I need.
